Bitcoin price fell from 7400 to 6900 USD... if we immediatelly don't go higher, it could be much worse... according to charts, next few hours are critical for the future of Bitcoin...  Cheesy
Well I do not mind even below $2k LOL and I am serious about it!

1BTC = 1BTC
Exactly.. that will never change

New BTC jump is happening at the moment, so it means that altcoins will lose average another 10 % in BTC value until this BTC rise stops for a while, probably around 16k USD. USD value stays for the most altcoins the same, or rises only very small percentage after few days..

Congrats again for reaching 10.000 euro price after 18 months..
I opened this topic in December 2017. and made congratulations..
I hope this is the last time that I will have to do this..  Grin
Let's say that after next peak of cca 50.000 euros we could go back to 15.000 - 20.0000, but hopefully not under 10.000 again...

And for the end some news regarding European regulatory framework..

I believe this fall of price is great opportunity to buy..just like when the hacking of Binance exchange happened..the price fall 30 % then recovered and went up 40 %..
Even this thing with closing general Binance exchange for Americans and founding separate US Binance will be good at the end... and the price will recover to 0.0040 - 0.0050 range. we just have to be patient. I started buying from  and 0.0039 btc and still buying as the price goes down....

only day traders want hug volatility because that is the only way they can earn massive profits. everyone else from investors to all those who bought bitcoin because it was a decentralized currency not because of profit, don't like the volatility at all. so the gradual rise should technically be what the majority wants.
but in reality it is not going to happen for many years because the market is still small and the growth (adoption) happens with surges not with a fixed speed. for example in 2017 we suddenly saw a surge of newcomers to bitcoin to the point where Coinbase reported they had 1 million sign ups within a week or so IIRC.

I agree completely....

Would you be satisfied with steady, gradual rise of BTC price?  e.G. 500 per month in 2019.
Something like this:
1. May 5000 USD (let's suppose that BTC had finished its price growth for this month on 2nd of April :-)
1. June 5500 $
1. July 6000 $
1. August 6500 $
1. September  7000 $
1. October  7500 $
1. November 8000 $
1. December 8500 $
1. January 2020. 9000 $

Let's suppose that, thanks to forthcoming halving in May, from this moment on, price grows 1000 USD per month.
so..
1. February 2020.   10000 $
1. March 2020  11000 $ (so on March 3rd 2020 I could re-open this topic after 15 months https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2510943.msg25663426#msg25663426)
1. April 2020 12000 $
1. May 2020 13000 $

i hope you realize that these are NOT "gradual rises", instead this is a decreasing rise. basically your first step says 10% rise in one month and you reduce it every month until 2020 where you expect only 3% rise per month!

:-) I hope you realize that I wrote "gradual rise of BTC price", not gradual or decreasing difference in the amount of price difference, or rise of  monthly % of price difference. You have to be precise with words..
My post was meant just as overly simplified illustration, without pretending to show mathematically correct model of growth in %.

Btw, if growth from 10k to 11k $, or growth from 11k to 12k in 2020 is only 3 % monthly, then I will visit my math professor and blame him for making me this lousy calculation :-)

But we agree on the important thing, 1) that this would be desirable type of growth and 2) that it unfortunately won't be the case, or at least not for longer periods of time. The numbers are not important for that story, it is the question of model and type of development..I could omit this exact numbers..it would be perhaps better (anyway, I don't like hundreds of new topics with the topics like: "will BTC reach 12749 USD before November 15th 2019, 16:24 CET time".. :-)
Even though I don't have enough knowledge to write such things by myself, I prefer to read "deeper", substantial, topics on present situation  and possible developments in the next 4-5 years..
The rest, regarding calculation and percentage if it was not meant to provide such precise calculation , is just splitting hairs...

I know there is literally no chance to see this in reality..
I just wanted to see how many people would like and appreciate this model instead of bull runs and bear market 80 % falls ... euphoria and depression --- or how many people are too impatient to wait... and the opinion on benefits of this model to btc system in general., because there are opinions that exactly crazy bull runs attract people to invest, following FOMO and greed..

Although I don't believe that will be the case, and althought we all know that development of BTC price is all but predictable and linear, so there is no chance for this to happen, I would like to ask, hypothetically, what is your opinion on this (im)possible scenario:

Would you be satisfied with steady, gradual rise of BTC price?  e.G. 500 per month in 2019.
Something like this:
1. May 5000 USD (let's suppose that BTC had finished its price growth for this month on 2nd of April :-)
1. June 5500 $
1. July 6000 $
1. August 6500 $
1. September  7000 $
1. October  7500 $
1. November 8000 $
1. December 8500 $
1. January 2020. 9000 $

Let's suppose that, thanks to forthcoming halving in May, from this moment on, price grows 1000 USD per month.
so..
1. February 2020.   10000 $
1. March 2020  11000 $ (so on March 3rd 2020 I could re-open this topic after 15 months https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2510943.msg25663426#msg25663426)
1. April 2020 12000 $
1. May 2020 13000 $

So, at the month of halving, the price would be around 13700 $.
After that, another speed-up, and on 1. January 2021 the price could be e.g. 25-30k $.

I believe this would be very healthy, it would give enough time for BTC ecosystem to develop further, give sense of stability to institutional investors etc... without euphoria...

Re: MCO - The silent MonsterMoon
by

Well, there will be no moon unless large overall crypto bull market arrives.

Regarding the demand for MCO token as cause of moon, I spoked with regular-non crypto people who were interested to get nice card with good features, but most of them find process of buying and locking MCO tokens in app too complicated. so..

But I wanted to ask something else. Can someone please elaborate more on comparison between Pundi X and MCO. I did not have time to study it in details, but they seem to be real competitor to MCO or Crypto.com, much more than Tenx. Has anyone checked it in more details?

the problem is that we are watching the price from the december 19600$ perspective..but it was top of unstable mountain... BTC should go safe, nice and easy.. I would be perfectly satisfied if we reach 15000$ in April and 18000-20000$ in June... organic and tested growth..

Re: ANN [MCO] MONACO #1 Cryptocurrency Payments Card
by
Herman Hesse
on 13/02/2018, 21:38:14 UTC
I would like to read your thoughts on the possible development of MCO coin price in the following situation:

Bitcoin and total marketcap goes sideways for months..let's say that total crypto mcap is in the 400-450 B range as it is now.. (although I believe the market will start to grow significantly from March, but take stagnation as assumption for this story)

MCO launches app and cards according to schedule, or perhaps with maximum 1 month delay for Europe after Asia got cards on time...
many people lock their tockens to get cards..and MCO is considered the best and most legal compliant card.. nr. 1. in the market, although the competition will be fierce..

but if the whole market goes sideways... What could be the price of MCO in 4 months?
this is elaborated staff: http://www.mco.life/#/supply-and-demand
but not including FOMO, Monaco invest, Monaco credit...

My opinion is that Monaco could steal some share of market from other (less succesful) cards and some exchanges..(even Coinbase for fiat to crypto exchange)..
and that within the same market cap it could make  x4 ... due to low marketcap now (rank 140 at coinmarketcap.com at the moment at only  $100,838,486 USD).  That would bring it to rank 45-50 on coinmarketcap.com  and the price of MCO to cca 30 USD.

Well...  At least the fees are gonna be a lot cheaper than before.  Lmao.  I think I would prefer high fees but with 20K USD/BTC right about now...  What were we even thinking!!?!?  Who cares about the high fees, we are supposed to be the new wealthy elite damn it!  Cheesy

Lower fees..that is great.. I did not see that.. come on, there must be some more positive things?

It happened to the majority of people here..it happened to me in July...
Now the price is 6800-6900..so there is no difference than your selling price..
It is hard to predict the price.. but I suggest you to take a few days off and cool your head even if than means that you would buy later at e.g. 7200.  It is easier to calm down when you are not invested.. and than you can come back when you have clear head and stronger hands... you will be better trader and that is longterm worth much more than possible loss of few hundred euros per bitcoin..

Re: Analysis

It is quite interesting...
If we bottomed (even temporarily) at 7600-7900 (depending on which exchange),then:

Vanga/ml>Enky

if we go lower that 7K around here, then
Enky>Vanga/ml

The contest is for a current King-of-the-Hill bitcoin tech analyst.

What is your opinion?
You could write a long one or just mention V>E or E>V, but ONLY short to mid term (four weeks max).
Obviously, longer term things could be different.

Very interesting, indeed... but it depends not only of analysts... or TA.. it depends also on external rumors and news.. if there will be no further news creating FUD (like alleged bitcoin ban in some large and important country) in the next four weeks, i would put my money on Vanga...

Definitive release of microraiden (February I believe) will influence the price a bit in the term of growing confidence in brainbot team..
but release of raiden... probably in summer or autumn...

If they make to scale it as they announced...that will be one hell of a ride of RDN token..  Shocked
