Re: Justin Sun + Warren Buffet = ???
by

Well it is great for the crypto community as all the press surrounding it.  Justin has been on CNBS and the best outcome is that his team convinces Buffet and makes him change his stance on Bitcoin.  An endorsement from Warren Buffet would be huge and help with mass adoption.  However, that is the BEST case.  Most likely Buffet will stand by his stance that Bitcoin is worthless.  But the exposure from this meeting helps a lot.  A no lose situation in my opinion....unless Justin makes a fool of himself and Buffet comes out saying he believes more than ever that crypto is a joke Grin

Have people read this article?
https://www.investinblockchain.com/new-evidence-suggests-satoshi-nakamoto-is-paul-solotshi-the-creator-of-encryption-software-e4m-and-truecrypt/

I think it does a great job of breaking down who Satoshi Nakamoto really is.

Re: Is 1 Bitcoin equal to half million USD?

Might be better to use gold.  Gold market cap is $7 trillion.  By that calculation, given the presumed eventual total Bitcoin supply, a single bitcoin should be currently worth $333,333.

I remember back in late 2017 when crypto was on fire, Israel PM Netanyahu made a viral video where he said the banking system as is was going to be gone.  New technologies like blockchain are going to play a major role in moving forward.  When your PM is talking like this about Banks and Blockchain you know this is a country that embraces new technologies.  Good for Israel.

Hello I heard that with the Lightning Network you have to be online all the time to get payment.  What happens if I'm offline will the sender even be able to send?  Since it has to be online all the time can I run a full node on my phone which is pretty much on all the time?

Coindera is free and it works great for me.  You can customize the alerts the way you want it.  It can not just be based on price but also volume which is pretty cool.  I personally use percentage change and have it notify me if there is a 5% change up or down and I only set it to Bitcoin.  Since there are thousands of crypto....these settings are important or else you will constantly be getting alerts.

One of the benefits of knowing who really is Satoshi Nakamoto is that people that claim to be Satoshi can be exposed.  Look what happened with Craig Wright...

Re: Could the time traveller’s “2019 BTC price” become true?
by

Actually didn't Bitcoin hit 20,000 in 2017?  If he really was from the future he would have taken this into account.  Also right now the price of Bitcoin is $8,200.  Even if it becomes a bull market....12x would be unheard of.  The moment Bitcoin hits $20,000 again you know governments will put their foot down.  BUT if it does hit $100,000 then I will believe in time travel.  HAHA

No one knows but he or she controls 5% of the total Bitcoin supply which is at the moment worth a little under $8 billion.  That would put Satoshi in the top 50 richest person in the world.

Obama once said this about Bitcoin..... "its like having a Swiss bank account in your pocket"....he is correct.  Since Banks are already in bed with many governments, Banks will never allow for a government to embrace Bitcoin.

Re: TRON - worth investing?

TRON being involved with Bitorrent Piracy was in the end a very bad move.  They will have a hard time working with institutional organizations moving forward.  Samsung came out and said they would never support TRON.  Justin Sun is known to do a lot of shady marketing and has a bad reputation in the space.  TRON and EOS have ways to go....so if I was investing the safer bet is with XRP who have already partnered with many institutions.

Re: Will Ethereum drop below $240 again do you believe?
by
HiBlocks

Most of the ICOs from 2017-2018 are selling off their funds.  Therefore Ethereum itself is in a sell off mode due to overpopulation.  A lot of scam/bad projects have hurt Ethereum.  It is scalability issues are still there after 3 years.  Cryptokitties alone was able to bring the Ethereum network to a standstill.  There were huge transactions fees along with it.  If one Dapp can do this much damage...there is a serious problem.  When we look back on Ethereum 5 years later....it will be remembered for being the most overvalued coin ever.

One token is issued as a security and it is owned and represents the performance of the company and you can even get dividends.  Works very much like a stock.  The others are just usage of the network and sold to users once the network is live.  STOs are the way to go moving forward.

The best move is to take one multivitamin and a glass of water then wait 10 minutes before you start to eat.  You will eat 25% less which means you will slowly lose weight over time.

Re: Your gambling experience

I think there are two kinds of gamblers.
Gamblers that LOVE the Action.  These are usually loud and energetic people that are very sociable.  They like the thrill of winning and usually play skilled based gambling games like poker or sports betting....maybe blackjack.

Then there are gamblers that gamble to escape their problems.  This could cause a lot of problems.  They are coping with their pain through gambling.  They usually play luck based games like slots.  These are usually quiet and normal people.  These gamblers however I feel can be turned around.  However an Action gambler will always be an action gambler.

I like the fact that Poloniex offers margin trading and the ability to borrow fund to start margin trading.  So I can be a lender or borrower and not a lot of exchanges allow for that.

Re: Explain the cause of Bitcoin 'not coming down'
by
HiBlocks
on 17/05/2019, 02:10:29 UTC
It will come down or won't come down will be because of Tether.  Every time Bitcoin goes up it has something to do with Tether.  There is a conspiracy theory out there that when BTC goes up so does the Tether supply.  It is hard to prove these theories because of how secretive Tether is.  As BTC gets more mass adoption Tether will slowly stop to matter.  The case could be made this theory was true in the past but now BTC has gotten so big Tether is only a small player now.

Awesome product but again...another case of automation taking over retail jobs.  Sadly this is going to create a job of lost jobs in this sector.  I could see many companies using this technology.
