I second CoinMkt.  A reliable, US-based exchange.

Email support again.  They're doing some pretty heavy maintenance now according to their twitter account.  They tend to be responsive.

Re: Thoughts on Kraken

One of the main problems with Kraken is that they purport to be US-based all over forums and reddit when in fact they are not.  They have offices in San Francisco but their main banking relationship is with Fidor in Germany.  This makes it difficult for US traders to use the site, hence their high Euro volume.  Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like this issue will be resolved anytime soon.  As far as US based exchanges go, I use CoinMKT. Their volume is low, but that can be changed if US users begin to migrate there.  I believe they're listing dogecoin sometime this week, that might help.
Kraken is a good site for european traders.  It's not the best for US, no matter how many times their reps say so in threads.

Doge on CoinMKT

I think CoinMKT is the most user-friendly of all the reputable exchanges. Even better that they're adding Dogecoin.  I feel like their making a real push to make crypto palatable to the masses and I'm psyched to see it.

You can't know for certain.   You learn after the trade executes.  CoinMKT operates under maker/taker as does BTCChina.  It's a great way to reward liquidity providers.

Ben Isgur's blog is a great resource, he posts all of his trades and their results.  Check it out:

I also like CoinMKT's weekly wrap up Market Movers: blog.coinmkt.com

"And I reasserted, ‘We are talking about Bitcoin here, correct?’"

and he said: "what is bitcom?"

and i said: "you are satoshi right?"

and he said "yes, go away!"

makes sense.  Cheesy

When you watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GrrtA6IoR_E

It's abundantly clear Dorian is not the creator of bitcoin.

Especially the end, "Leah wrote this?" Dorian says before shaking his head in disbelief.

CoinMKT.  Aside from low-traffic (which seems to improving week by week), they're the farthest along in terms of compliance and they've never halted withdrawals to my knowledge.  Once their liquidity picks up just a bit more they'll breakout and become a huge player.  Especially since they offer other cryptos.

Gox is making a comeback...

Gox is in the process of resurrection.  I can't stand the fact that it's happening, but it's happening nonetheless.  I truly think we need to move away from the Gox's and BTC-Es of the world, they hurt adoption they depress price, they're shackles around the potential for bitcoin and all crypto.

Mass Exodus! Move to Stamp, move to CoinMKT, move to VoS, Just Move!

Gox has to go.

Are they any sites looking to create alternative investment vehicles with coin?  Setting up coin based vehicles might add stability and further legitimize the protocol.

Again, another 180 degree turn.  Well, perhaps more like a 135 degree turn.  Wondering how everyone feels about timelines for mainstream acceptance.

If Amazon, Starbucks, Google, etc announce acceptance through any of their portals.  If any large scale retail operation announces, we're looking at a run that will make the last couple of days seem miniscule.
