Cyberhoc, well written, good points made here. My question though is what makes you think the investor now turns to btc? It just seems so "far out" to so many suits. I guess at some point it has to be recognized aye?

3 years ago bitcoin did not exist. What about three years from now? What will the next one be? Has it already been born?

So once we see this stability do you think we see other online currencies pop up or have they already?

liquidity of exchanges

Someone on the main board said on the thread about mt gox, trade hill and the others that the problem with thes exchanges was not in their functionality but in their liquidity. My assumption was that was the big benefit of CampBX. not so? I thought they were able to transfer your funds from their brokerage to dwolla and therefore into your affiliated account within minutes. ?
It is the same factors that influence the value of other currencies. What determines the value of the dollar?

I grew up in rural America. Every so often I would hear a story about a farmer crossing the line and speculating on the cattle futures..... Same type of guys as the Mt Gox speculators!

It seems like it might be difficult for the online "casinos" but pretty easy for the sports books to start accepting btc.

TQC hits on the head. They are not asking for much in 5 posts when you factor in that we are embarking on a frontier of which there just aint a textbook out there yet. We need info and controlling the board is the only way to groom and keep things organized.

epic rocks! i am suprised you are contained to the newbies. i think you can get out of here with a request to the whitelist. ttya later when i make it up there with the bigboys.
I found this forum a few days ago but was in a hurry so I didnt make it to the welcome page here. Anyway, I love all the info on here........ and everything else too
that link just shows me a bunch of keys and numbers. I can't see any information there.
There are three columns that matter, Block, Amount and Type. In the Block column are dates. In the Type column is either Received or Sent. And then there is the amount column showing the amount of BTCs in the transaction.
From that data, the following table can be created:
Received at this address 2011-06-16 | 0.05 BTC 2011-06-19 | 0.07 BTC 2011-06-23 | 0.08 BTC
The original post was 2011-07-01, so all of these transactions occurred prior to the post. In other words, this solicitation has not yielded any contributions yet.
ok so the date and amt makes perfect sense but how do you tell if it means sent or received. does | mean sent or received or am I missing something obvious?
