Re: Will Dogecoin have a future?
by
Horick
on 19/04/2018, 05:56:52 UTC
Dogecoin has been my favorite alt coin for quite a long time. It serves as a good cryptocurrency for tipping others, as well as being a fun and inexpensive medium of exchange.

However, I'm worried what might happen to Dogecoin in the future, since it has been quite some time that no new version of the QT wallet has been mentioned, neither some innovation to keep it going for the long term.

It would become ideal for Dogecoin to add SegWit to its code, and gain traction if it gains acceptance from the miners. Then, if it manages to become the first cryptocurrency to accept the scalable solution, it could rise in popularity once more (not to mention that transaction will be near instantaneous).

Nevertheless, Dogecoin is a great cryptocurrency being inexpensive and relatively stable, making it a great way to tip others or send micropayments faster than BTC at a fraction of the cost.

Looking forward to your opinion. Wink
It is my first time to know dogecoin. In my own opinion, it will have a future. It will really last, I am positive for that coin. It is in its name, dogecoin, its like a dog. A dog is man's bestfriend, so as dogecoin. Anyway, it is just my perception.

Re: Patience is the key

As a matter of fact, it is very few number of noobs in the cryptocurrency business that understand the level at which patience is required and valuable in the business. I do tell my friends around me that wish to come in to the business “it’s only patience ones that would feed from the milk of a lion” . I bought some coins few weeks ago, which I decided to hold while it was dipping but I keep holding with zero fear and absolute patience. Presently, i’m In over 47% profit in all. My advice to my colleagues is all you need is buy into coins with good potential and relax even while it’s at dip. Trust me, you won’t live to regret anything if only you would be able to hold with patience. Thanks
Thank you for a good advice. As a newbie, I really am need more information from those older than me here. And I am so thankful for thread like this. And I so agree that patience is really the key to success. We will just wait for the right time to trade our coin so that we can hit the mark.

Re: ETH v NEO

Which do you think is better and why?

Etherium now is more valuable maybe because it is older than Neo. But I think Neo has a good future. It will soon be as valuable and reliable as eth. I so much like them both.

Re: Exchange or Wallet?

I have a question.

What is better? To keep your coins on some Exchange site or to open wallets for each coin?

I would like to hear some advice.  What are pros & cons of each option?

Thanks
It is your choice. If you think it is the right time to sell then do it. Or if you want more profit, you will wait for the time the value is high, then you can save it in your wallet.

There is an ico from the Krypital team: Merculet. The project of this team was quite successful before: Cybermiles, Arcblock. Do you think this is a good ico? Should continue to join ico in the moment?

It will be your decision. But as you said it was successful, so there will be more possibility that it will also be a success. Just observe and do a deep reseach, that is what bounty hunters must do.

Re: BTC is a roller coaster

Just received reminder bitcoin dropped a lot, the price of the last week is very unstable, leading to other competing currencies continued to fall, there is no bottom line of that kind of fall, I would like to ask you tycoons on how to look at the future market?

It is because bitcoin depends on the law of demand and supply. And it is like a roller coaster, its value could be extremes, and there could be a rapid change. It is just its characteristics. If bitcoin is a roller coaster, how do you call that of altcoins? It is maybe more wild than that.

Re: The HODL strategy is not actual

This morning I saw an article where a guy made a simple calculation through Google trends about HODL strategy, and it showed that call to HODL used less and less from February of 2018. Popularity of word Bitcoin and crypto currency is also falling down.
Why it is so? Do not people believe in Bitcoin and it's bright future anymore?
No matter on such tend I am going to HODL my founds till bitcoin will not come back to 20k$ Grin
The trend of crypto coin is unpredictable. It maybe deflating now but for sure for the next few months expect for a very high inflation. We will just extend our patience and wait for it to happen. HODL is a good strategy.

Re: Can Bitcoin Volatility Be Controlled?
by
Horick
on 14/04/2018, 10:05:00 UTC
I have read some posts and some concerns that it is the volatility of Bitcoin that is preventing many people and many businesses to fully adopt Bitcoin. This can be the main factor why big online shopping stores are not yet adding Bitcoin into their payment facilities (though there is now a circulated petition for this but I doubt if it can make a dent).

Some are really saying that if volatility can be managed then we can see Bitcoin going mainstream. I am wondering then: Is volatility something that we should find a way to control and how do you think it can be done?
Since bitcoin is not that old as our regular currency, we cannot say that it could be stable now. It is still dependent on the number of people using it. When the time comes that bitcoin will be used by general, then maybe its price will be more stable, thus more predictable.

Re: Three reasons to invest in Bitcoin
by
Horick
on 14/04/2018, 05:33:25 UTC
Quote
1. It’s gaining mainstream credibility as industry players consider it as the new gold – Bitcoin has many of the same qualities of gold, whose value is not controlled by governments.

2. Many investors and finance industry experts are serious about the promise of Bitcoin – A large number of mainstream investors and entrepreneurs already consider Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as a legitimate asset class.

3. There is only a limited amount of Bitcoin – There are only 21 million Bitcoin tokens to be mined and no new tokens will appear until after 2140. This makes Bitcoin a deflationary currency whose value increases naturally with time.

Source here.

These are interesting big reasons why it is so wise to invest in Bitcoin. I am sure that many people are still doubting Bitcoin whether it can be a good investment vehicle or it is just another risky venture that can collapse anytime. Of course, we know better. So in case someone would be asking you this same question, you just have to enumerate the three big reasons above.
These reasons are valid for us to decide investing bitcoin. Especially when the price turns green we will get so excited to sell them. Some are having regrets for having a very small amount as capital. It is really as risky one, but anyway, it is expected in business,  you really need to take the risks in order to succeed.

Re: Bitcoin and not Paying Taxes
by

on 13/04/2018, 15:57:04 UTC
I ran across this video a while ago on what can happen to you if you don't pay your taxes.  At some point during your Bitcoin career, the cryptocoin will be converted to fiat and that's how they will catch you.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hf2fNEUPjQw
Once bitcoin is exchanged with our regular currency, that will be the time we can pay taxes. Much more when we are going to use that money like for instance in buying goods or anything, there is already a tax once you pay, example the value added tax. If ever the government accept bitcoin, then I  am pretty sure there will be tax to be imposed.

Re: How to teach kids about Bitcoin?

on 13/04/2018, 08:49:03 UTC
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/9-ways-kids-smarter-money-100050132.html

This article doesn't talk about bitcoin but it got me thinking how to get kinds interested in bitcoin within the context of appropriate money management lessons. Think of we could teach kinds about it. The growth, the adoption, the inflation and retraction. The allure of the "internet money".

...what other ideas come to mind?
I do not think its good to teach kids about bitcoin, its too early. They even are learning about our regular currency. They must learn how to be responsible first in using money and in using the internet before indulging to bitcoin. Maybe when the child turns 15 or 16 above, its the time to know bitcoin.

Re: Still Trading When Red?
by
Horick
on 12/04/2018, 10:06:55 UTC

It is said that we can make money in trading when the market is up as well as when the market is down. Right now, the cryptocurrency market is experiencing a big bloodbath (though there might have been bigger ones before) where some are estimating that we lost around 40% of the market value so far. Though I personally believe that this is just temporary and very historical (it happened in the past on the same period), it is still sad to see what we have already gained just wipe out in some hours and days. This is just the way with cryptocurrency market...

Under this dire situation, are you still trading or you are pausing for a while just waiting for the right timing when to buy coins and tokens again?

What happen today, I am pretty sure it happened for the past years. So it is just a characteristic of the coin. So if the price today is low, it is better to buy. Soon it will just go higher only we must keep track of its value.

Re: Crypto is an Asset or Currency?
by
Horick
on 12/04/2018, 02:11:28 UTC
I believe that the initial purpose of crypto is to create a digital currency for making transactions quick and easy. However, in reality it has become an asset which everybody is buying and holding. Continuing doing like this will destroy the initial purpose of the coin?

What is your opinion?
Just like the regular currency, cryptocurrency could be both asset or just a currency. When it is invested of course you hold it in your wallet, so it is your asset. When you use it like in payments or in any other transactions, then it fucntions as currency.
