Re: How to save money.

Gambling and buying stuff you don't need are your 2 biggest enemies. If you want to save make sure to control your spending habits. From there it will go steady but easily.

Re: If the US dollar crashed, would it affect bitcoin in any way?

If and when the dollar crashes I think bitcoin will raise in value. I don't think this will happen any time soon.  But I'm sure that when this happens there will be a lot more demand for bitcoin.

Re: Are you holding your bitcoin for a price increase?
by
HostSurf
on 31/05/2016, 07:56:07 UTC
So are you holding your bitcoins for future events such as halving or you more like to spend your bitcoins when you get it? I personally like to spend it for digital goods usually...

I am saving for a long term. around 30-40 years. Either it will make me a fortune or it will be worthless only time will tell. I try to save Few btc every week for the longer term, Just like bitcoin boomed it may do again and who knows may be in next 30-40 years 1 satoshi may equal $1 just like few years back you would get 5 bitcoins for a roll on faucet, May be we could tell our grand kids we used to get 800 Satoshis from a faucet and they would be like wow!

Just like someone who bought $500 worth of shares of apple 15 years ago are worth million. This could happen for bitcoin too.

And yes i do spend bitcoins for stuff, But as stated above i am more into long term, I did not know about bitcoin back then but i wont miss this time Wink
I sure do. Waiting for a 500 value for ages.  Not a part, but this time i will sell all if i got the chance. Have been waiting to cash some btc for a real long time now.

I would say that I am not greedy at all. Money isn't everything in life. If I do gamble I play with a certain amount of money, if I lose that amount I stop playing after that.

Re: Is bitcoin better or paypal?

Bitcoin is better the paypal, but paypal was here first and so they are the biggest. Even if paypal would lower their fees, bitcoin would still win in the end. Stating this because bitcoin has more unique selling points then just the fees.

Bitfinex or bitstamp for bitcoins and big amounts. Little amounts or altcoins i am with btc38 and poloniex. Those chinese exchanges have a lot of volume which makes it easy to sell.

As you see, the Bitcoin is crashing and trying to break a new low until it stop.
But I won't sell any Bitcoin at this time, I believe it will rise again as it always do. Smiley

haha, you were damn right! The price of Bitcoin has raised more than 15% since your post. It is $417 right now and Lets' hope it will be $450 again very soon (I mean it will take 2-3 days not more IMO).

Patience Pays, I don't think this is the right time to sell bitcoins, this is the right time to hold for the next few months and sell it at a right time, I believe this is still right time to buy few more bitcoins, as price is not that too high, it is predicted that the price of bitcoin will cross $500 mark so if we buy at the present price still we can enjoy some good profits in the future.
My neither it would be be stupid to do on this very nice moment. I think after the halving the bitcoin will rise to a high amount on the market.

Re: What would happen if BTC was Banned?
by
HostSurf
on 30/05/2016, 14:35:15 UTC
What do you guys think it would happen if all the governments in the world declared bitcoin to be illegal?
How do you think the community would react? What could be the possible solutions?

* However unlikely and practically impossible that scenario is I will answer anyway - Nothing would happen that doesn't now just a move from centralized to decentralized. Not sure what would happen to the forum especially the trading and exchange! Guess it would be closed.

* We may lose a few community members a long the way but it would not be a big deal because we probaby would have lost them anyway. The rest would get smarter.

* The solution would be to continue as is but taking better precautions than we already do. Bitcoiners are not stupid (well the majority aren't) Also there are decentralized exchanges with smart contracts in the alt world that can be used for btc as the main exchange.

Saying that imo there will be no ban on bitcoin as they will see it is near impossible to enforce with decentralized exchanges popping up for trading coins and goods. In my mind they could only regulate and ban centralized exchanges and services.
I would probably hold the ones I already own and when it's comes to a point where Bitcoin is so much worth, that I don't have to work for the rest of my life, I would move to a country where it hasn't been made illegal and sell my bitcoins. At least some part of it and I would just live in that country.

Re: What do people around you think about Bitcoin ?

on 30/05/2016, 14:31:05 UTC
I've told some people around me about it but they don't seem to be interested or they don't understand how it works exactly. I've suggested to start out with faucets and opening up a wallet and read more about it but I think lack of interest is holding them back.

Re: What Behaviors Lead to Gambling Addiction

I think people who gamble only think about the winnings and chances they get to win. They don't think about the consequences that comes after losing. They don't realize what they are doing until they are actually losing and by that time they just wanna continue placing bets because they get another chance to win their losses back.

Re: What's your story, how did you become interested in Bitcoin?
by

I became interested when I saw it on the news. There was a report about it on the news where they explained that bitcoin was used for illegal stuff to launder money. That's when I became interested and looked up some information about it on the internet and what the concept of it was.

Re: What Happen If Gambling was not introduced?
by
HostSurf
on 30/05/2016, 14:21:06 UTC
If Gambling was not introduced then many people have to do the hard work for earning money.

This is a post that makes as little sense as I've ever seen on bitcointalk and that is saying something! Lets correct your statement shall we? "If gambling was not introduced then many people would not lose their hard earned money"
then i would answer the nature of humanity who was never satisfied with what there has been achieved
people would still seek another ways how to spend all of their money besides gambling

It's true, you can earn your money back. But what's the point if you're going to lose it again? Seems like an endless cycle to me.

Well, if you're out of money there's litterally nothing left to lose. I gamble sometimes mostly for fun and it's only fun to me if I'm winning. I do have some self control and know when to actually stop. There's a certain amount of money that I gamble with and if I lose with what I started out with I quit for that day.

Good luck with building a time machine. I believe that if you work hard enough it will pay off. Doesn't matter what you do, as long as money keeps coming in and you keep putting money aside, it will pile up eventually

Re: Do you actively spend your bitcoins?
by
HostSurf
on 30/05/2016, 10:36:08 UTC
The last couple of weeks i've spent a lot. Not only on black friday/cybermonday but also buying stuff for myself just because I can.

For christmas my bitcoin spending was limited to 2 purchases. Problem is that the shipping time is a 'uncertain factor'

Nearly One month I didn't Utilzed through bitcoin. I am saving all my bitcoins. Because price increasing very fast I am expecting this will reach to 500 and more USD. I will exchange or spend on that time for purchase. Now I am fiat currency for the purchase

If it goes to 500 dollar just sell some of your bitcoin not all. Just have 1 bitcoin for 2016 I think you will make profit in there.
Than now, for now is the price is increasing, but is not that high as in 2013.
So yeah just wait or sell it, if I was you wait in 2016.
I dont spend bitcoin on a daily basis, because it's just not possible for me to do right now. I mostly spend it online and if I am able to pay with it online I will use bitcoin as my payment. Now that Christmas is around the corner I have made a handful of purchases.

Re: Gambling. Is It Wrong?

In my eyes gambling would be and get wrong is as if someone would get addicted to it. Some people are addicted to it but don't even know it because they got enough money to lose. So they keep on gambling because money keeps coming in.

Re: Can gambling be profitable in long term ?
by
HostSurf
on 30/05/2016, 10:28:06 UTC
Honestly House edge will take you down at the end no matter how advance your tactic are....
But the story will be different if you're playing sport betting. If you have advance analisys, mostly you're gonna predict the exact result

What kind of expression is this? How can be calculated something that if possible will eliminate the subject of those calculations? Are you in mind when tell this kind of things? How can be possible to be found the exact result of a match? What kind of mind have you to make such calculations and such predictions that can eradicate definitely the sport your are talking about? Because after your big analysis and the find of the EXACT result of match, have no meaning that this match be played. Repeat: have no meaning. The results is known by everyone. Every team know in which way will go the match and have no reason to play. The result is the aim of the play of the match. The results can be told by you. The RIGHT one. Every player will ask: why to play when we know the result from the "PREDICTOR", the "FINDER" and the "ONE". What else can be born from that your sick mind?

I think by exact result he meant win/loss/draw.. not EXACT result as in 0-2,6-4 n stuff.. I n2004al has a point if this is what he meant...for dice..you have to be lucky to win anything.. but its not the same for sports betting eventhough luck could be a factor..but skill can override the luck factor on a long term.. when I think of it.. I think even dice can be broken down with money management skills and stuff...but it is lot more mathematical and need lot more advanced knowledge compared to sports betting..
But then again, it's a chance you take. Placing bets on dice isn't my favorite thing to do, but it's tempting to take a chance and roll the dice every now and then. But yes it can be profitable and in your favor if you keep up with your winnings and losses.
