Re: Crypto currency market types
by

I think that the bull market will come when everyone stops waiting for growth. It will happen in about 1-2 years.

The last major bear market was 14 months and there was much less going on in the space then. Given we are already 8 months in, I would be amazed if it lasted another year, let alone 2.

Re: Is NEO still worth investing in?
by

on 19/08/2018, 19:13:01 UTC
Personally i prefer Neo, because Neo is a promising project for the long term. Technological advantage, and support from the Chinese government are also important.

This is the key thing for me - support from the chinese goverment.

NEO also has a working project, ADA is still years off yet.

Both are great projects to invest in though, so I would say 70% NEO / 30% ADA

Re: Many think crypto is dead. It is not.

When the average person thinks now is a bad time for the market, that is the exact time to buy.

When everyone starts saying the crypto is amazing and they are giving up their day job to trade it, that may be the time to sell

Don't listen to the majority - they simply don't know yet. HODL strong my friend, HODL strong.

Re: Tactics When Market is Falling
by
Hughesy26
on 19/08/2018, 19:06:16 UTC
Hi all,
I am a relative newbie but have remained pretty calm during the difficult last week or so. The markets are falling significantly again, is this still relatively normal and is the best advice just to HODL? Moving forward I think I will set stop losses on all holdings to protect my capital against falls like this.
Thanks

The most profitable thing to do in falling markets is to sell what you have and buy it back when it is cheaper. However, this comes with great risks and is definitely not for relative newbies (including me!). I prefer to invest rather than trade, so my tactic in falling markets is to research great projects and forget about the price for a while

Well the trick is to buy low and sell high. I hope you sold in January my friend when you made this post, and now you have loads of $$ to pick up more coins ultra cheap!

Re: Does crypto offer riches overnight?
by
Hughesy26
on 19/08/2018, 19:02:08 UTC
Crypto is one of the avenues of getting rich yet it should be understood that it does not happen overnight. Getting rich in crypto requires a lot of dedication, hard work and patience. People do not see the essence of crypto investment because they want to get rich quickly, hence, hurriedly invest in projects that follow the pump and dump trend.
Remember, one key to success is patience.

Absolutely. Those looking for a quick buck will get burned, and will have very weak hands when the market drops - which it always does! If you can't stomach the losses then you don't deserve the gains...and if you take your time and invest in great projects then those gains will come

Re: Can any ALTCOIN ever overtake Bitcoin ?
by
Hughesy26
on 19/08/2018, 18:58:26 UTC
It's almost 8 months of 2018 and we have not seen any reasonable hikes for the altcoins,
It was only Ethereum that hit a good value of almost 1.4k$ in the beginning of the year . Since then it's pretty dull.

Forget overtaking can any ALTCOIN ever reach a value near Bitcoin.

Possibly, if holding it gave the investor a reliable and genuine source of passive income.

Bitcoin is great but it doesn't provide any benefits to hodlers other than the fact it is deflationary

If for example, holding a coin gave the investor airdrops of REAL value and/or you could rent our your tokens for a decent price, then maybe such a coin could overtake btcs market cap

Re: Super-bubble exploded, lets grow now
by

During the last months, particularly during the last weeks, Ethereum has dropped spectacularly, and all the tokens that are paired with it have gone -80% or more. Can we say that the dirt has been cleaned and we can now invest at the right price?

To be fair it's not just the coins that are paired with ETH, it's basically all alt coins that have taken a massive hit.

Now is a great time to invest in the projects you have researched and really believe in

Re: 10x below coins good to invest?
by

I think if etf gets approved for btc then btc will become unstoppable and the dream of 100k btc can become reality in one year after etf approval, as far as other coins are concerned i think they will suffer in value in reference to btc value but in terms of usd their value will retain or also grow some what.

I think this is true at first...but then lots of people will expect alts to start picking up and they will use some of their btc to pick up some cheap alt coins, and then we will have a big alt coin rally too

Re: Why deferring Bitcoin ETF is a good thing?
by
Hughesy26
on 12/08/2018, 21:33:53 UTC
I believe the ETF will pass in September after this delay.  I also believe it will be the catalyst for a new bull run.  There is definitely funny business going on in this market right now.  I think when it turns it will be explosive.

I think this too. However, I am worried that if the SEC do either extend the deadline again or deny it all together, the price is going to drop to crazy low levels

Re: Right time to buy bitcoin and altcoins ?
by
Hughesy26
on 12/08/2018, 21:27:11 UTC
Guys all we think the next bull run will start soon. So maybe thats right time to invest more to cryptocurrencies. Do you agree that or should we wait more ?

Interestingly, this was posted in April amd I would have said the same thing then as I'll say now...

Now does indeed look to be a good time to put money in, but it's impossible to time the market so just buy a bit now and a bit later. Dollar cost averaging is essential in these crazy markets

Re: Cryptocurrencies’ $600 billion crash hits a new low

I bought bitcoin a year ago at a price of 1 800 - 2 000 dollars, now it costs about 6 500, it has increased more than 3 times. I do not understand you guys, why do you cry and write these messages. I see absolutely nothing wrong with what's happening right now. Look in the media, a year ago everyone said that bitcoin is a bubble and it will burst, now I do not hear these words and it's really very cool!

Exactly. I think the problem is a lot of people came into crypto wanting to get rich quick, without understanding (or valuing) the tech itself. Now the price has dropped they think they are left with nothing.

Prices WILL rebound and when they do, those that sold at the bottom will be even more salty when prices go back up then they were when prices dropped in the first place

Re: Do you think there should be a Crypto Bank?

What do you think about crypto bank which hold all the reserves and give insurance of your crypto assets?

Isn't this against the whole idea of crypto?

The only reason why anyone would give insurance is if they held your private keys...which is not a good idea!

For me, am a die hard fan of crypto. I will be a coward if i run away. I will stay till the green light shows. What about you?

No, I don't feel like quitting. But I wish that the next bull run would hurry up already, I'm getting impatient lol

Re: Altcoin for future
by
Hughesy26
on 05/08/2018, 19:47:56 UTC
Well firstly, don't put all your eggs in one basket.

If you are going to hold an altcoin long term I would pick a few that have some form of 'cashback' feature

eg Neo gives gas
EOS gives airdrops
Exchange coins eg KCS give trading discounts and/or profit share
Masternode coins eg DASH/MEDIC give masternode rewards

These benefits will build up over time. Also, demand for these coins should be sustainable as others want the rewards too, so the capital price should increase too

150 ETH OR 9.5 BTC?
Almost worth the same value now,  but which one is better for holding untill DEC 2018?

Well in todays prices the eth would be worth 61k and the btc 67k, so in april you should have invested in btc.

Does this help?  Grin

Re: Scams
by
Hughesy26
on 05/08/2018, 19:32:50 UTC
Is there a possibility of a scam if my tokens have no value for 2 months? I already have the tokens for 2.5 months and they keep telling us that listing is a laborious thing to do. Is that a normal thing to happen when your coin doesn't have any value for 2.5 months now?

To be honest some scams still result in high prices for a prolonged period and some great projects keep a low value for a long time too. If the team are providing updates and making progress then it is probably not a scam. That doesn't mean they will succeed though. What project is it, out of interest?

Re: RIPPLE OR LITECOIN
by

on 05/08/2018, 19:25:33 UTC
For a quick, cheap transfer of funds, xrp wins everytime. So I sometimes use it just to transfer.

For investmenting, I don't chose either to be honest. I am not sure why you would ever want to chose between just these 2; they are very different projects. XRP is not a true crypto as it is controlled by a company (ripple). Litecoin is OK for payments but to be honest there are much better options for this too

Re: Crypto Strategy

wxa7115 - wow you are a safe player!

Personally I am too greedy to only have 10% of my coins in higher growth potential coins. As I only invest what I can afford to lose, and reinvest some of my profits (so I am very relaxed about the price of these investments dipping) my risk appetite is higher I guess

The best thing though is to have a strategy and stick to it. People can disagree with the exact percentages all day but the strategy itself is sound
