I agree, but to me the bigger concern is that the media begins to dive into the mysterious "creator" story. I suspect we are to see more attempts to get the full story. It will have to break at some point and negative portrayals to an already blemished crypto-currency will only decrease the valuation.

Do you get this scripted FUD from some kind of FUD ticker somewhere?

Undone, this is the Speculation section of the Forum. If I have hurt your feelings, maybe you should go back to the Archive or work on that ticker of yours.

lol - bitcoin was invented because Satoshi was sick of paying large wire transfer fees when ordering model trains from the UK! I hope that he has made a saving buying his model train and we can all move on hahah.

Funny, and unfortunately it might be true

I can't believe the guy published under his realname

Maybe he didn't think it would take off like that, back then?

Well he's got the funds to protect himself, if he is Satoshi  Cheesy

I think that is what everyone around here is getting in such a fizz about, denying it, calling the story fake, and then writing self-reassuring stories of how Bitcoin would bounce right back up even if Satoshi were to dump his stash. etc etc.

Now that his anonymity is gone, he may now be forced or pressurised to draw upon his BTC. Bitcoiners don't want cold storage Bitcoin going to market in search of FIAT, they want FIAT going to market in search of hoarded Bitcoin.

I agree, but to me the bigger concern is that the media begins to dive into the mysterious "creator" story. I suspect we are to see more attempts to get the full story. It will have to break at some point and negative portrayals to an already blemished crypto-currency will only decrease the valuation.

I think there is some merit to the article with Andresen's comments. My question is that there was some benefit to the anonymous nature of the code origin and now, if that focus shifts to one private individual, how does that get perceived. An example would be the accusations against Shrem and its effects on the exchange price. After all, the press first article (if it is really Satoshi) was considered negative in content.

I cant seem to find enough conversation on this. If they have found the "entity" that created (or Participated in creating) Bitcoin, what will this do to the exchange market? I understand that this is about technology, but for trading this is probably a bad thing in that the media will associate Bitcoin to one guy. We all have our faults and the BIG Banking institutions could certainly exploit this. Thoughts??
