This looks scary but I hope this is only bad wording. Shouldn't scrypt mining work fine after updating sofware to v0.8.7.0 and until block 432,000?

Regardless of the problems with blockchain, prices on Cryptsy went to 0.00001850 and stayed while the prices on Bittrex were once again degraded by bots to be under 0.00001500
It might have something to do with the fact that no LTCD deposits have been credited at Cryptsy for the last 6 hours because they were using the 1.2 version which was stuck. There is just shortage of sellers at Cryptsy at this moment because noone was able to deposit. I guess it's a good time to buy some LTCD at Bitterx as the price will probably settle somewhere between prices on these two exchanges.

I take it the pools have to revert back to the old wallet, Best-Pools is still on 36999
What's funny they were already mining after 36999 using the old wallet. This is how their last blocks page was showing just half an hour ago. It's isn't showing now but I have it opened in a tab and just took a screenshot. They mined block 37009.
The old wallet has 37223 blocks at this moment.

So I'm having the strangest problem ever. I am compiling the wallet under Ubuntu, without graphics interface. Everything is fine but when I start it, it simply shuts down in a moment. There's absolutely no error or anything suspicious in debug.log. Anyone had anything similar? I am having this on two different computers, one with Ubuntu 14.04 and the other one with Ubuntu 13.10. Same thing. Can anyone help?

What pool is the biggest? Because it looks like someone else is getting more blocks mined than best pool is atm.
MULTIPOOLIf multipools are hitting this coin it means that it's a profitable coin to mine and that LitecoinDark is still undervalued. So nothing to worry about, difficulty is high, but mining is profitable. And they will be selling coins on exchanges at any price, so there will be coins to buy. Let's just hope that the new DifficultyShield will be good enough when multipools will stop mining and we won't be stuck with blocks for long again.

Yes, their blocks found stats seem to refresh every now and then. They were showing "last block found 2 hours ago" before and then suddenly updated list of blocks with dozens of mined blocks.

The first 771 blocks are pre-mine and till block 800 are mined by me and pool owners for testing. It is correct that the blocks where flying till block 2350.
So the early bird people have take a total of 2350 - 800 = 1550 blocks * 3200 = 4.960.000 LTCD and not 8.000.000 LTCD!.

So if I understand correctly, this just shuffles things around so that the premine is now 3.8% and the remaining 6.2% is an instamine, right? Bottom line being there are 10% of the LTCD supply in hands that acquired it for far below even current market value, and we should price this in to our expectations. In that case 1900 sats feels expensive to me. I think I'll pass on buying any more until this blows over.
I think it's obvious that these coins were mined by large multipools and were dumped to the market long time ago.

well hey dev and company want to blame hashlink on this. that isnt cool at all they are a good pool, i have never had issues with them. this is clearly either planned for them to get a bunch of coins or a massive fuck up. either way you cant blame hashlink.
We've updated the wallet, added the nodes and everything was fine for a while. This fork comes from nowhere, but i'm not sure we were on wrong chain because all blocks got confirmed.BlockExplorer didn't work so we cannot confirm if are on right fork, so I deleted old blockchain and redownload it again, now database indexing is taking some time.
If we were on wrong chain, we'll reduce the fee from 1% to 0.1% to cover any possible losses as much as we can.
You can confirm here https://bittrex.com/status what chain Bittrex is on (block height). Cryptsy also publishes this data, but I think it's available only via API, not on the webpage.

There appears to be a fork in the network, some nodes are reporting block numbers at 17723, others are reporting 17735.
Explorer is stuck at 16299, so it likely never got updated.

I get f9c01ca419d1336c4bc4c6481a2f9a7751b2c9de2b0fce2756a438a5d7b389a8 and my wallet is on the same chain as Best-pool and Bittrex.
Looking at number of trades at Bittrex since the fork, this coin will be finished if Hashlink will be able to dominate the chain and Bittrex will need to cancel trades/deposits/withdrawals, etc.

Hashlink is up to date it says right on the dash the wallet is updated, this is bogus. There is no reason that best pool would be the longest chain they are a small percentage of the nethash. This fork is fucked.
There's clearly someone else mining at the same chain as best-pool. Probably some big multipool. Look at difficulties at hashlink and best-pool. Hashlink is mining on a shorter chain with lower difficulty - they are mining on this fork all alone.

It's not 100% successful. Hashlink is wasting its hashes on an incorrect chain
. Someone should notify them.The point is that the coin is safe. The blockchain is not screwing up.. It's Hashlink's fault for not being up to date.
Hashlink says they updated.
Probably each of both pools found hundred of blocks at once when difficulty dropped to ~0.00001 and each of them created their own blockchain fork then. It's how forks are started.

Bestpool's expected difficulty is apparently 3,000 in 119 blocks.. That's higher than before? Will this work now the mulipools are onboard?
You should just ignore it as it's showing random numbers. Best-pool's frontend doesn't know DifficultyShield and it's showing numbers which would be correct if the DifficultyShield wasn't in place. In fact, difficulty is rising slightly every blocks so just as it should be.

It's the opposite. Best-pool is on the correct blockchain an hashlink is forked out. Best-pool chain is longer. Also, Bittrex is on the same chain as best-pool (I just confirmed it by moving some coins from my wallet which is also in sync with best-pool).
