Is there a market for a Bitcoin to Liberty Reserve exchange?
by
IRCCo Jeff
on 06/03/2013, 10:15:31 UTC
Good morning,

I wanted to poll the community and ask if you all believe there is a market for exchanging Bitcoin to Liberty Reserve. Our company comes across a larg amount of LR in our regular business and we are looking to acquire Bitcoin.

Accordingly, we are considering offering a 100% free exchange for Bitcoin users to buy Liberty Reserve. I welcome your thoughts and opinions.

We use bitpay.com . It is ridiculously simple and works well.

Re: [POLL] If BFL has ASICs made, is it more profitable for them to not sell any?

The point the OP may be getting at, and my personal sentiments, are that if ASIC's exist and perform as advertised it should be more profitable for them to keep them all and mine with them vs. sell them. If its not, that means its not in our best interest to buy them.

Re: [ANN] Pay for DDOS Protection with Bitcoin! BlackLotus

Theymos. Didn't the bitcointalk server get hit by a DDOS attack a while back?

BlackLotus  maybe you could offer some protection as a service to the community if it happens again.

I would be happy to do so if the appropriate person wishes to reach out to me.

Regarding keeping our own Bitcoin, the problem we run into is that banks and investors will not regard BTC as "real money," meaning revenue we earn by BTC that is not "repatriated" does not count as revenue, and impacts our perceived performance. In our current stage of growth this is a very real issue for us.

Are you looking for investors now?

Please contact me in private and we'll discuss.

Good evening, my name is Jeff and I represent Black Lotus. I finally made it out of Newbie purgatory and intend to be a regular on these forums.

I wonder if this is the same BlackLotus from DDO on Orien.  If so, yeah, scumbag to the 10th degree.

I do not know what DDO or Orien is, so I can safely say we have no part in that rant.

Wasn't MTGox getting protection from BlackLotus last year? Maybe they can say something about their experience with them.

Yes, they were. They're with Prolexic now, and probably paying about 10 - 15 times as much as a result  Grin

I would like to address the matter of these "reviews." None of the sites mentioned in this thread are genuine review sites. Anyone who wants to libel a competitor can easily swamp those sites with fabricated reviews without any type of validation or even disclosing their identity. If you do your research, I think you'll find that our reputation is beyond reproach in this industry.

In any case, we're glad to be here and happy to begin accepting Bitcoin. BitPay is doing great work in helping bridge the gap between traditional and alternative currencies, allowing us to venture into this new territory without having to stress over out-exchange.

Do you think the prices will drop? I've worked with ASICs in networking applications, and everything I know about them suggests that they are very expensive.

I would agree that the best practice is to keep your wallet on media not connected to the internet for routine storage (and have backups)

Re: how to overclock fpga or asics

you can overclock ASIC by using different firmware, but really.. is it worth it? those extra few MH/s? if you have options how to cool the chip down, try it i guess

I would be more concerned about the risk to the hardware. ASIC's are too expensive to play around with like that.

Lol, paypal transactions are always reverted without problems.

I hope Tongue I have to say I got into rage/freak out mode. Never been scammed before in the Internet.

That is not exactly true. PayPal will not entertain disputes involving services or pseudo-cash (aka Bitcoin).

Maybe wait untill january 2013 and see how things are then.  Undecided

Agreed. I'm waiting to see how the ASIC rigs perform before getting into mining.

We just started using BitPay. I am really impressed with the initial support we received from their CTO and the ease of use concerning initial implementation.
