Is this some kind of bitcoin treasury type entity? How big is it in comparison to say Nakamoto/$NAKA  https://nakamoto(DOT)com or is this something completely unrelated? Excuse my ignorance in advance.

he was yammering on about it already having some secret fork that we are supposed to get coins from provided we don't sell the ones we have yet.

Anyway a fork of a coin is not the coin. All forks are frauds in reality because it is not the original coin and just an offshoot. Unless you hold coins on the the original ixcoin chain then you do not hold ixcoins. The same goes for tokens based on ixcoin.

maybe it's time to make a fork out of this coin or a sidechain bringing real support or yield to bitcoin
any idea?
on top of it, it would be good determine /remine  the lost coins through a conversion /check mechanism would be nice too (e.g. get rid of the first address on the rich list, in the hands of uncaring lawyers)

The cryptopia wallet contains coins probably beloning to many people here including myself so I definitely am not in favour of this because if a coin can do this to wallet addresses then its integrity value alone is worthless and it would be seen as a worthless investment or hedge by big players who could see their coins frozen or locked out etc in the future.

So we know what they are worth, we just cannot proceed with building the buy-sides until we know what "weather" our buy-sides can expect to be facing...

-MarkM-

That equates to about 45 cents per coin? Surely ixcoin is worth multiples of that considering muppets out there could start a meme coin based on ixcoin and probably sell it to other muppets fopr hundreds of dollars?

Which exchange?

Freiexchange a while back I was placing some orders but someone kept placing orders over mine.

Maybe you should email them if you have some coins still there?

I emailed them but the response was they were only dealing with holders of bitcoin and dogecoin. Unusual that they would prioritise a turd like dogecoin over say the likes of ethereum.

It's getting much harder to buy ixcoin by simply placing an order on the exchange because it seems the price just keeps stepping up beyond your price target like theres a bot trading it or has anyone had an order filled recently?

Has anyone coins on Cryptopia and any idea if they will ever be returned to anyone who made a claim? Theres probably people who had ixcoins there and forgot about them because they got some bitcoin back or never had bitcoin there but they would regret it if ixcoin mooned some day in the future because it literally is bitcoin apart from the fact that is fully mined already.

Note to bystanders: the above quote is from I0Coin's ANNounce thread, I responded to it over there.

-MarkM-

Good call sir! I think both the ixcoin and i0coin are one and the same. Maybe we should merge threads or something. I also have a question and proposal depending on which is applicable. Is ixc or i0c ISO 20022 compliant and if not is this something that can be implemented?

Spot market inefficiency is really showing lately; lack of active arbitrageurs has somehow led I0Coin's price on the Stellar platform to be about four times the price of IXCoin while at the same time over at FreiExchange IXCoin's price is about twice the price of I0Coin!

An arbitrage opportunity for some intrepid soul, maybe?

-MarkM-

It is far too complicated to have any arbitrage between Freiexchange and the Stellar platform due to having to first tokenise i0coins or ixcoins to allow trading on the Stellar platform and then not being able to simply withdraw either ixcoin or lumens (XLM) from there to Freiexchange.

The smartest option for both the ixcoin and i0coin community or any devs about is to petition Freiexchange to have a Lumens (XLM) market for both i0coin and ixcoin on their exchange.

In fact this could actually be the best thing ever to happen to both coins to solve the liquidity and trading volume issues that having only an obscure exchange to trade on has caused.

That is my proposal.

Emphasis on the point of having an XLM pairing on Freiexchange^

That's a super idea cornhodlr.I have tried using their helpdesk on the site with the addcoin option on the dropdown menu but once I fill out the form andhit send it just goes to cloudflare and says I am banned for some reason. Not sure why because I am not using any vpn or tor so maybe theres a problem with the site.

If anyone has a contact email for them I will try again later.

Do you really know how much of what you had there?

I had thought I had none or almost none BiTCoin there until they let us in to look; it turned out the tiny bit of BiTCoin I had had as buy-sides for my IXC and I0C there does not seem so tiny after all these years... Smiley

Plus just possibly the more folk who insist they still want their IXC and I0C the more chance they will give it back rather than just steal it themselves?

Also the sheer fact of not knowing what was going to happen to all the IXC and I0C there has for years discouraged building up of the prices of IXC and I0C on their remaining venues; once we are sure we have re-absorbed all those missing coins we can start working the price up; while so many coins are still expected to likely get "dumped" the building of the buy-side has always needed to stay low and deep waiting for those missing coins to get dumped onto it...

For years they have in effect used that threat of a "dump" to suppress the prices, lets not allow them to use that very suppression as excuse to not give us our coins back! Smiley

-MarkM-

I definitely had around 600 because I had it written down with any altcoins I held but I think I bought more just before the hack happened and may not have recorded it but I have 1720 IXC written as total IXCoins held although I don't have any wallets containing coins so assume it must be the total held there as that was the only place I traded IXCoin. I sold all the others I had there before the hack and thankfully got what little bitcoin was there out of it.

I might register up and see although I have replaced what I lost there using freiexchange so have a nice stack of 3k and will buy more once I get some btc.

I hope they dont keep all the IXCoin that was there because thats probably the lions share of IXCoin in existence and would be like a sword of Damocles if it ever reached a dollar or went higher again  Sad

Has anyone seen the latest update from https://cryptopia.co.nz   it looks like they will be giving back some funds to victims of the hack after all this time. Will they be giving people back their ixcoin or is it worthwhile signing up for it? I didnt have muchthere apart from a few hundred or maybe even over 1k ixcoins and maybe some worthless altcoins so wondering if its worth the jumping through all the hoops to get it back.

Well it has been floated out there that there is already a plan B ready for that event in the guise of another coin created for this very purpose that is apparently a coin forked from the main chain or an exact clone of Bitcoin itself.

The next hurdle the Ixians (and likely the Devos and various others) are looking into is actually making the jump to being "civilisations" since MUDgaard player-accounts are actually owned by "civilisations", the only way the Ixians et al even have the use of any such player-accounts in the first place is some friendly "civilisation" made such accounts available for them to use.

If they can make the jump to forming an actual "civilisation", they will be able to pay General Hosting Corp aka Galactic Holding Corp (GHC) directly rather that going through some actual "civilisation" and thereby also optionally retain the lion's share of the fees in effect due to the paid fees mostly accruing to the value of the GHC "shares" that, as a "civilisation", they will have the ability both to hold and to add into their "official treasury".

Then of course they can start reaping profits also by making such accounts, which in bulk they will be able to get discounts on, available to others.

I must do more research into how to do all this stuff because it is hard for me to get my head around it all. The spirit is willing but the technical acumen is weak.

If you search for it on uniswap you get many different tokens presented with a warning about potential scammers. How do you actually buy some without too much techno babble?

You are on the right path, just make sure it's the right contract. Simply ignore the UniSwap warning, I think the warning is there for most tokens anyway.
For now, UniSwap is the only way to buy the tokens.
Use the direct link:
https://app.uniswap.org/swap?inputCurrency=ETH&outputCurrency=0xe96938e0D086A241D03688ddA697Bf57859Ee261

Super , thanks for the link. I am trying to work out the safest best wallet to connect to Uniswap. I used metamask a few times before but lost trust in it and not keen on browser extension due to stories of data vulnerabilities and pasword leaks ,hacks etc. I searched for myetherwallet on the options list but not there. Will do more research later though. Thanks.

I have been thinking about some projects that could be interesting for Bitcoin, and for our Bitcointalk community, but I often run into the problem: KYC

Most of us agree that KYC is not very good and avoids services that involve it, especially if Bitcoin is present.

With that in mind, I would like to know your opinion:
Do you think there are ways to prove copyright and identities, inside and outside the online world, without KYC?

You probably could do this by giving power of attorney to a lawyer who keeps your details confidential and proves it on your behalf where only the lawyer knows who you are so just prove you are the copyright holder in their presence and timestamp it. You could also just register mail the design to your lawyer and they keep it sealed and in the event of a court case they can open the sealed letter in court revealing the designs and timestamp along with date of letter being rewgistered and posted.

Being completely anonymous would be difficult when bringing a case to court but you could use an attorney as mandate.

How do you protect copyright on the blockchain?
by
IXcoinMADEmePOOR

Good morning folks,

Just wondering how somebody would be able to copyright protect a few furniture designs using blockchain technology and easiest way to go about it. A friens asked me and I wasn't able to give her an answer apart from look into NFTs but after looking into them myself am not sure they would be a solution.

Any advice would be appreciated!

TIA
