One thing that's certain about American politics is that candidates don't stay 100% true to the party platform. So while Ron Paul may be a creationist, Gary Johnson or someone else might be an evolution guy.

Being Libertarian is about being logical, having common sense, not getting swept up in the tradition of things. Libertarians wouldn't make decisions based on creationism or evolution, pro life or pro choice, they'd make the decision that helps lower crime, improve the economy, lower taxes, get people better income, or let people live their lives the way they want to.

Libertarians believe in real freedom of living.

Democrats are hypocrites. Republicans are hypocrites. A wise person once said - "Partisanship makes you stupid." It's so true. If you're beholden to a platform, you're not thinking independently about each issue.

The Libertarian party is the only "formal group" that gets us close to this ideal, but in all honesty being Independent / Unaffiliated is the only true way to engage properly in American politics.

It's always tough to predict these things. Two ways to think about it are in terms of fundamentals and in terms of technicals.

The Fundamentals are the business value of the investment (Bitcoin, in this case). How strong is Bitcoin's utility for the future? Does it still have a place in this cryptocurrency market? It this investment world?

The Technicals are the movement of the price and how it can dictate future supply and demand behavior. In this topic we look at the price charts over several months and identify where there are stalls and spurts in the price direction. The stalls where price is stagnant for a period of time form bases of support or resistance. The spurts, where prices rise or fall over short periods of time represent breakouts or breakdowns (through the base of resistance or support, respectively). The last support level was $10,000. We broke through it and now we've fallen to the mid $8,000s. The next support level is $8,200. If we break through that mark, we could fall to $5,800.

But...will it happen? Who knows. That's where the fundamentals come in. The fundamentals keep you holding on to a good investment, even in the bad times.

The campaign probably did not get involved in the DNC hack. Trump's campaign and the people he keeps close to hime aren't that bright...neither is Trump. The hack didn't influence the election. There have been multiple studies that prove this fact. Clinton didn't put forth a compelling reason to vote for her that could resonate in every State in the country. You can't just speak to one group of people and then assume that all the other groups of people will fall in line. You have to appeal to nearly everybody. Clinton failed because of her questionable history and her view of the future that didn't consider ow to bring everyone to a better place in their life.

There's a book called Digital Gold that talks about a lot of unregulated currency and cryptography talks for as much as two decades before Bitcoin was created. In fact there were other attempts by other people to create such a currency, but each before Bitcoin was unsuccessful.

I don't think the currency would be particularly useful...except as currency to fund the sting operations to bust illegal activities. But the blockchain technology is absolutely useful to governments and banks. The tangible uses are many and the impact is many more!

This is the wisdom of the day. There's no secret to earning bitcoin. Bitcoin is currency. How do you earn money? Do that...do it better than you do it now...do it more often or for more money or for more people. And then ask them to pay you in Bitcoin.

Basics about investing would be good. Understanding economics would help you understand how the play between supply and demand affect the price. Finally, you could do some work to learn about the money supply in the traditional sense (e.g., fractional lending, deflation of currency) and how it can be manipulated. I beg to differ. I found a suspicious and unauthorized withdrawal from my account this weekend. Government agencies are more likely to buy Bitcoin than Central Banks. I just don't see what it benefits Central Banks...these aren't investment companies per se.

A run on a currency to bitcoin sounds like a great scenario. In a free market every entity needs to prove they are worthy of  investment and attention from the market.

It's hard to know exactly what "in play" means for Barclays, but the obvious use is so they can sell Bitcoin as investments to their customers. They can create a mutual fund or trust or ETF or all sorts of other investment vehicles based off Bitcoin.

This is interesting news. The SEC only has jurisdiction in the US. So if the UK FCA authority on investments, if they were to approve formal access to Bitcoin, would open the door to a lot of new investors, and subsequently a boom in price.

Now if they could also get Litecoin "in play" we'd really be set!
