Once BTC-E/Bitstamp and alt currencies are implemented I'll be buying it, at the moment it's not worth the premium over the free versions imo.

What advantages would a regulated exchange offer to the consumer over the current Gox/Bitstamp/etc?

I've been running this bot for about 5 days so far.

I started with 0.5btc and now I'm down to 0.4btc. I have the standard settings, and every single trade has been at a loss Sad

Has this happened to other users of this bot recently?
I don't think current market conditions are suited to bot use.

That said, I'm currently running eduk's version just to see how things go.

The only time I've lost money was when I stupidly started the bot in the middle of a downward trend and it did an instant sell.

Thanks Smiley

I'll look into this and run it for a while in sim mode along side TobbeLino's bot to see how it behaves...

How about some sort of ranging market detection so that the bot would stop trading in periods of low volatility like we've seen over the last few days?

The link in this post seems very interesting: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=67591.msg2118599#msg2118599

I found one ranging market indicator which worked well on forex: Damiani volatmeter. Heres a link to discussion and source codes (in MQ4) for that. As you can see from the picture filtering is crucial for systems like this.

This looks very interesting indeed.  With this kind of ranging market detection in place the bot could be left running even in flat periods like the last few days without worrying about losing money.  Given that the source is included, I wonder how hard this would be to incorporate into the bot?  I've not done any coding for a while but might have to look into this if I ever get the time.

I'm currently testing one of the open-source originals that this bot is based on.  If I have positive results then I'm keen to buy it when the multi-market integration is implemented.

I just have a few questions:

- Will you be supporting other cryptos? For example, will it be possible to trade LTC on BTC-E?
- If so, would it be possible to run two instances of the bot (presumably in seperate Chrome windows?) on BTC-E, one trading LTC and the other trading BTC.
- If the above is possible, presumably you would need to implement a way to support multiple balances for the different cryptos?

One feature that might be useful is to be able to specify the reserve amount as a percentage as well as a number. For example, instead of specifying that I want to keep 10 BTC that the bot cannot trade with, I could specify that the bot can only ever trade with 50% of my BTC balance.

The one that springs to mind has a lot of spammers so they have to use such extreme measures.

I'd be interested in something like this, especially if could do email + sms.

I keep reading about people holding huge amounts so I don't think it's that unpopular.

I intend buying quite a few "just in case"

It's not really that bad - some forums require 30 or even 50 posts.

Re: how to get BTC in the UK?

From a UK bank account you can use a free Faster Payment transfter into CurrencyFair.com.  You need to have a verified account in CurrencyFair - similar to the Gox verification system but much faster.

Once you have funds in CurrencyFair, you can trade for Euros then SEPA transfer from there into Bitstamp for a €3.

Bitstamp offer free BCT withdrawals so you can move money from there to other exchanges.
