NBC reporting $1 Billion a day being withdrawn from Greek banks.

http://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/greece-debt-crisis-despair-1-billion-withdrawn-banks-day-n378401

It's worth watching the embedded video to see a real symbol of the difficulties being experienced; a reporter reports from the main baseball stadium used in the 2004 Olympic games. So sad to see the disrepair and deterioration.

I would have expected to see more fiat coming into BTC from the Europe Zone at sites like this http://fiatleak.com/

Perhaps the Greeks aren't using the exchanges covered on that site.

It just goes to show you how tiny and minuscule is Bitcoin and the public's awareness of Bitcoin. I'd hazard to guess that millions of Greeks are physically going down to their banks to withdraw physical Euros and put them under their mattresses (I expect we may see lots of crime as physical notes are flapping around in a multitude of insecure and volatile situations). As the article said (bearing in mind it's NBC - mainstream media - so I don't give it a lot of credence) the banks are probably going to run out money by Monday. You'd think that people would be pouring into Bitcoin right now; it's a no-brainer. But maybe there's just so little awareness that something like crypto even exists it's barely registering.

You know we (us crypto nerds) sometimes forget just how little comprehension the average person has that the world we live in with all its countries, borders and jurisdictions is all just a construct of the human mind; there's not really any definition of these structures, zones and limits outside of us all agreeing to them. The mountains, hills, valleys and rivers and oceans are all still doing what they've done for aeons (albeit with great stresses on the eco system than ever before). It's only the humans that have this whole set up in their minds.

An example of what I'm talking about can be seen here. This is a conference in France with three Bitcoin "experts" presenting their views. It's actually quite good and Nicholas Cary from BlockChain.info does a pretty good job at the beginning of explaining what Bitcoin is and why it's important. But what highlights this realisation that, what we all take for granted here about crypto, is just not comprehended at all by someone who hasn't yet (potentially) thought through how a global peer-to-peer distributed network sits completely above countries, borders and jurisdictions. Watch as this audience member (who identifies herself as working in the mobile payments space) asks the panel about how the blockchain deals with AML and the need to report to authorities on movement of money, etc. I'm not picking on her specifically, but it just highlights the likelihood that we forget just how many billions of people there are in the world who may have heard of Bitcoin but have absolutely no comprehension of what it's all about and what it means on a global scale.

https://youtu.be/rtI52BcFUoo?t=58m2s

Agreed, I took a bit of a break from Crypto the last few months and speaking to people at work about it, a lot of them said "Oh, Bitcoin, doesn't that guy who went to prison control it?"

Hmmm... Job done commercial media...

Not sure what's happening around the globe, but Australian banks are spending tens of millions increasing their digital/smartphone presence.  You can withdraw money from a teller machine without a card now, pay someone with a mobile phone number/QR code and even NFC "Bump" payments are coming online.

They aren't ignoring crypto, they are taking some of it's best features and incorporating them into their value offering in a very polished way...

The consequences of such a technology are vast and certainly controversial. The ability to do mass monitoring of Bitcoin transactions — and automatically alert companies, regulators and law enforcement as to which coins are associated with illegal goods — is basically the definition of surveillance. In this case, blockchain surveillance.

Someone's just dumped ~3K Dash on Cryptsy down to 0.0115. I'm wondering why this happens suddenly; or at least appears to be sudden. (And I know....someone just needs to get out to pay bills, yada, etc....but you do wonder what's happened that makes someone take a decision like that to make a seemingly rapid exit).

LTC is having a bit of a pump, perhaps market manipulators?

"market manipulators" in crypto? Well I never....

Wash your mouth Ignition...this scene is full of nothing but people with the highest of ideals, motives and principles.

With all exchanges rigidly following the AFMA Code of Ethics and Conduct...

selling my 22.5k shares for 15btc (anyone wanting to sell should think about that  Grin)

* so basically the buyer gets to pay the maint fee which will be around 50btc
however there is about 75btc owed.
Which makes a nice 25btc payout, from which I deduct the price I sell it: still remains 10btc.

So 15btc for 22.5k is a very good opportunity, nobody should sell for less especially if you believe in it  Grin

... and I forgot to mention that the weekly payout will resume  Grin

So you pay 15btc and you will get an extra 10btc  Grin
Does I sound like a ponzi ? Nah...  Grin It is ltcgear  Grin

Has anybody actually got a cleared account?

My guess is everyone's shares will be declared fake.
No.

Except "cleared accounts" owned by Chris

It's a fairly clever strategy, scoop up loads of your own accounts cheaply, using LitecoinTalk and their crooked moderators, offer them a cut for their trouble and come back online for a fraction of the cost...

Holy shit, the trolls are really fishing for content now. I almost feel bad for them, spending all their time and having nothing to show for it. They all just secretly wish they got in at a lower price.  Tongue

Correct  Smiley

Depends how much pocket money these kids have to spend in the first place.

Between cutting their losses on a declining P&D coin and spending pocket money on the latest Disney Infinity 2.0: Marvel Super Heroes - Starter Pack, you can see why some of them are struggling.

Those starter packs aren't cheap!

Sideshow clowns, this is the real world where real investors pay attention, not this little walled forum filled with people that have delusions of grandeur.

There is a real world out there, and you don't make one iota of difference to the people I talk with on a daily basis. Unless you do this for some perverted pleasure, you're wasting your time.

They are little people probably crying themselves to sleep every night because their coin failed and now the best gig they can get is trolling for steam credit.

I would hate myself too..

There must be some reason they are continually dashing themselves upon the rocks of this forum and I swear upon Buddhas bountiful man breasts that at this point it must be some kind of perverted enjoyment.

The Trolling
It's just a question of statistics that an unmoderated thread is going to draw posts from a small number of demented nutcases who want to gorge on the available attention at other people's expense.

However there is also another reason. Dash is a controversial project in more ways than one.

The Differences from 'Last Year'
In particular, around this time last year, Dash's unique approach to anonymity (functional diversification of the network) started to emerge as just one of many new innovations going on across the altcoin market of the time. It wasn't particularly notable other than the fact that it supported the 'anonymity' features and it kind of passed under the radar on most other counts.

Over the last year, however, some major evolutions have occurred in the market which people probably did not predict:

[1] - the functional diversification approach that Dash took back then has worked. It's proven to be a generalised solution which immediately delivered 2 further breakthroughs over bitcoin: confirmation time and scaleability

[2] - Dash has emerged from the background in terms of marketcap to establish itself in the top 3 'pure currency' rankings

[3] - Bitcoin itself has prevailed over the flotilla of alts that came it's way. There is now very little, if any, prospect of any alt overturning bitcoin's transparent blockchain classic approach, starting again and gaining mainstream traction. In that respect Dash's remaining competitors in the market (at least in the anonymity sector) have walked straight into a huge cowpat by attempting to do exactly that

The 'Real controversy'
Note that Dash’s functional diversification approach is the one common denominator behind all these breakthroughs:

 - anonymity
 - confirmation time
 - transaction scaleability
 - legacy compliance with the bitcoin architecture

This is the “real” controversy - not the instamine.

'The Decoy'
However, it *is* why the ‘instamine’ has taken on such a huge importance from the perspective of adversaries. They cannot afford for attention to be directed at Dash’s unique technical approach and its benefits because ALL other networks (bar Dash clones and Bitcoin 2.0’s) are still mono-functional. It would suddenly widen the official playing field to a point where they are so far away from the goalposts that many would probably have to throw in the towel.

The only way to keep the spotlight off the “real” controversy is therefore to keep the ‘instamine’ alive and keep throwing it in everybody’s faces to the exclusion of everything else. In fact its impact is of course academic. A market depth chart is a V-shape and will always be a V-shape. What that means is that for every trader that values as asset using a given set of criteria, there is always another trader who prioritises those same criteria differently. It was an unconventional birth but the value could have gone to zero.

It didn’t, and the reason it didn’t is what adversaries would prefer not to discuss.

I would like to put forward a more cynical viewpoint, that trolling has become more of a marketing strategy than anything else. Since one of the big difficulties for coins is getting exposure and this is arguable the biggest alt thread on the biggest crypto forum then having your coin on every page of this thread is very valuable.

What is worrisome is that the it seems to be a profitable strategy, so not only will it continue but the trolling will become more aggressive in order to rile people to respond so they get even more exposure. Creating a  snowball effect.

I have been thinking of this also.  I never forget what the boss of Mercedes Racing said about 10 years ago on their F1 team, he said "We don't have to win F1, we just have to be fighting with the front runners, this has plenty of positive effects on the Brand"...

The Trolls just want to pick a fight with the front runners, so their coin gets associated with DASH from a status perspective...

On a side note, I still burst out laughing every time I see Trollero, whomever thought of that deserves a freakin medal.  I was a regular on Poloniex when they launched XMR, it was the dawn of a new era for Trolls and pump teams.

LOL...you are adorable yourself.   LOL....  82 votes...in a forum called BCT(which no one in the real world knows or cares about) that its whole investment pool is worth less then half my equipment inventory.  To those individuals like Otoh, I and others, it is you and your ilk that are the ones that are adorable... Kiss

If it even mattered remotely to Otoh, myself or others on here to crush your coin world, it would be a mere sneeze to do so.  But since those in our position care little for your meaningless drivel...we'll let you play in your meaningless sand box.

PS ...for the record, Evan, if he had pocketed 600,000 DASH, 16 months ago...which most certainly he did not since it ended up in my associates and my hands and others...he would have deserved EVERY bit of the money. Its an embarrassment to the idea of a global currency that you think a million dollars is a sizable reward for creating such a robust coin technology.  You need to climb out of your minimum wage job my friend and socialistic utopia you envision....its effecting your ability to see the big picture.

I'm more interested in the smooth Adam connection.... Shocked  this will be great to see develop.  Our instamine is old hat...that is 17month old news...SO YESTERDAY!

This...this would be devastating.   I, unlike our friend Adam, see no good coming from the demise of his coin in such a fashion.  Interesting times indeed.

Necessity is the mother of all invention, I believe we are seeing the attempted formation of Troll 2.0.

Thanks for your opinion.  I think it's quite obvious that we see DASH coins history and future in 2 very completely different lights.   It would also seem most out there  agree with my thoughts on Dash and more importantly  it's underlying technology.  Our current sustained position on coin market value,  backs me up.  Cheers.

Most of the "Technology" was taken from Bitcoin, and your market cap is entirely due to manipulation by your cult leader. (Emission slowed 100x after launch/instamine, total supply reduced from 40 million to 20 million after launch)

Keep promoting a known fraud scheme.

Here's what most out there really agree with:
