I bought my bitcoins at the height of 15k dollars and I keep on losing money. Is there still a chance that it will go up more that 15k dollars?

im a newbie to this crypto stuff.

Since bitcoin is comparable to GOLD the answer is yes but it will be a question of when... The only way to minimize the risk on cryptocurrency is to buy small amount in a regular basis, of course only a portion of your portfolio.... Huwag kang padadala sa mga nakikita mo at nagsasabi that they can time the market and they are now making a lot of money....because you can be right 50x and only wrong once to blow up your account...Hope you will feel better and not give up in playing/betting to cryptocurrency....

Re: COINS.PH wallet limit ano masasabi nyo dito?

I still hold bitcoin/cryptocurrency na parang gold(paper loss lang yan) but I am not also buying/adding position on bitcoin/cryptocurrency as of now... BUT MY ULTIMATE PLAN is to have more portion of my asset on BITCOIN/CRYPTOCURRENCY than GOLD/cash combined... I'll will do this by placing small amount in a monthly/quarterly basis regardless of the price....

by

on 06/02/2018, 06:07:56 UTC

Imagine mo na lang boss na GOLD ang BITCOIN, so same strategy when investing in gold....DO NOT EXPECT na bilang akyat ang price ng bitcoin...This is more tied up to DIGITAL WORLD habang nagiging hitech ang mundo or mga tao, mas lalong nagiging importante ang cryptocurrency/bitcoin...SO always minimize your risk, buy small amount(only allocate 1-5% of your total asset)...God luck

I would not expect too much na aakyat ito after a dip, pwedeng mag steady lang ang price ng ilang years or pwede rin na biglang akyat tapos baba ulit....Hindi ito isang stocks na umaakyat lang sya in the long term...Although,  Im still bullish on bitcoin but I would rather buy steady in small amount(should be 1-5% of your portfolio ang iaalocate mo sa bitcoin/cryptocurrency) then HOLD IT LIKE A GOLD.. Im VERY CERTAIN ITS NOT A GOOD IDEA TO TRADE BITCOIN/CRYPTOCURRENCY....you would rather go to FOREX if you want day trading...

But there is a good thing about bitcoin, its easier to liquidate...Madali lang ibenta kapag kailangan mo.

I think meron lang tayong coin.ph, which is only peso to bitcoin and vice versa....Sa tingin ko mas maganda na ito maraming function like paying bills, load, transfer, etc....This is better than purely an exchange platform, in my own opinion when your only using bitcoin/cryptocurrency to exchange or convert to other cryptocurrency or fiat, it is more of gambling.....

If you only have a small amount of money you would rather have that  in coin.ph or if there is something similar than placing it in the greedy Philippine banks...

Korean banks to close accounts linked to virtual currency trading.
https://www.facebook.com/arirangtvnews/videos/1552411234841127/

HOLD HOLD DON'T PANIC BITCOIN FANATIC

The more they make it hard for people to own, the more this cryptocurrency go up in value...

Re: Do we want our own coin?
by

on 23/01/2018, 18:54:22 UTC
I saw a thread earlier asking about Philippine based or targeted coins, and there have been a few attempts at a country coin. Is this really something that we are interested in?

The purposes for others was for remittances, for general investing, for bills payments and banking, for OFWs, for rewards, for points.

Would we like something similar to Bitcoin ATMs where you can buy and sell on a machine?

Do we want a free airdrop? Or an ICO? Or a mixture of both? (Bounties of course will be available.)

Discuss.

Probably like a token that can be use in smart contract... something that will suit the need of a Filipino(not just  to have a huge profit) pwedeng CHARITY in the form of cryptocurrency or CROWDFUNDING....Since ang purpose ng blockchain or cryptocurrency is not to trust anyone, so pwedeng tanggalin ang mga buwaya na politiko at banks sa equation kung gusto mong maiabot ang tulong directly sa mga nangangailangan....

Re: What causes the bitcoin price to go up/down?
by

on 23/01/2018, 18:46:05 UTC

There is only one thing SPECULATION, that the price just up.....so you buy low and sell it at a higher price.....

Not totally related to stock market or economy, BITCOIN has a GOLD and currency characteristic....

Why?

GOLD characteristic dahil deflationary ang bitcoin it is use as a store of value

Re: 90% of ICO's will FAIL!!
by

Of course, it will defeat the purpose of cryptocurrency/blockchain if the government will have a total control of the system but if this system has to go mainstream then they will not have a choice but to get involved...

Government involvement(not just issuing warnings) means that it can be like a creation of a organization/body to certify(like an accreditation) any ICO's that are being offered in the public....Although we understand that this does not mean a garuanteed success of the ICOs.... ONe way or another this system/blockchain/cryptocurrency need to be tamed, if it has to become our future.

by

on 19/01/2018, 15:15:14 UTC
Before you react violently... this is not my word,I just saw an article that Vitalik think this will be the case....

I think we have the responsibility to not promote(I dont know how airdrops or bounty works) maski paraan pa ito para kumita ng pera... Wink

I really hope the government will get involved soon...

Re: Bitcoin/Cryptocurrency..... Should you TRADE or HOLD/Invest?
by
Ilocanoako
on 19/01/2018, 14:55:14 UTC
Ofcourse you can short bitcoin. You can short sell anything that moves, including cryptocurrencies. You can borrow bitcoin at a rate you agree and just sell it with the hopes that price will decline if not then you're burned plus you have to pay the lending rates. Personally I never trade with leverages although it is very tempting, it's just, I can't absorb the risk that entails. You can short as well without borrowing, yes you can always make money when prices goes down.

In my opinion you only diversify when you don't know what you're doing and you have a lot of capital to diversify. When you only have - let's say below 100k php. For me, it is better stick into 1 or 2 cryptocurrencies/projects you believe in and ofcourse assuming you did your due diligence on those projects.

Have not seen any exchanges yet that offer short selling..

I agree on not to diversify on your cryptocurrency investment(you could do it in stocks) if there will be a specific metrics to value the coin that you choice, the problem is we know it that cryptocurrency is the future, its just we don't know which one will become more dominant in the future..

That is a great idea sir, I think we are being left behind.... It looks like some neighboring asian countries already started where in their main focus is for the unbanked population.....This is well suited in our country, with the main vision to help the unbanked and cut off middle man(bank).....

Re: 1 bitcoin is equal to 1 million
by
Ilocanoako
on 19/01/2018, 02:07:11 UTC
Kung sa philppines peso pwedeng pwede kasi mabilis na  din ang pag taas nang bitcoin pero as of now mababa sya pero tataasparin yan dahil madami na ulit ang naghold,at sa presyong usd naman malabo ang 1million dollar dahil napakalaki na neto at syempre hindi pa lahat ng tao ay alam na ang bitcoin siguro after hundred years.

Nope... its not impossible...this will easily go to 500 thousand dollars in 10 years pag nagkaroon ng adoptation and 1 million DOLLARS in 20 years...

Just to enlighten you..
If bitcoin is better than gold then this will be the equation

GOLD market cap(world) 8 TRILLION DOLLARS, and bitcoin will reach that level if not doubled in that 10-20 years time frame.... 8 trillion dollars divided by 16 Million bitcoin equals 500,000 THOUSAND DOLLARS....then you have to add inflation, so the share of cryptocurreny/Bitcoin in asset class has to increase also...

As of now
GLOBAL Gold supply===      7.7 trillion dollars
GLOBAL MONEY supply =   120 trillion dollars
GLOBAL REal estate===    270 trillion dollars
GLOBAL Debt =======   215 Trillion dollars
GlOBAL Derivative market=====  500- trillion to 1 quadrillion

Guys wake up.... bitcoin/Cryptocurrency will go to 1 million DOLLARS because of this, it has a characteristic of GOLD, STOCK and MONEY...

HOWEVER there will be a lot of spike and dips in that time frame.
