Easyminer, it is cool setup, but your hot air is in the one place, not smart enough. I would recomend to redesign that rig layout. 80 degrees to 90 is way too much.

You should be able to get 800+ on those cards each.

you should get more and why only two cards are hashing ?

We had a very long day yesterday getting all of our hardware moved into our private cage.  We were able to roll 3 of the cabinets into the cage, but we had to move everything by hand for the 1st cab.  Also we got Group Buy #4's monster GPU rig all installed as well.  Here's some photos of how everything turned out.

How much MH/s you are getting and howm much are you planing to get ? Mb used ? Risers ?

Hey guys, looking good!  Cool

Here's my modest machine, I use it for work and gaming as well as mining. My office is right next to the living room, and obnoxious whirring fans got the big thumbs-down from the wife. So I watercooled it.

Cards are 2x7990s, radiators are 1x120, 1x240 and 1x140. Case is a Lian Li midtower. The radiator fan shroud looks nice, but it does restrict the fans a bit. The mobo is an older model, and I had big stability issues getting it to run with 4 GPUs. I threw an EVGA power boost in the 1xPCIE slot and bingo, works perfectly. Individual GPUs are undervolted to 1.150, 1.145, 1.160 and 1.110v respectively. These are the lowest stable values I have found and it saves a few hundred watts at the wall compared to stock 1.2v.

Speaking of power, here we are pulling 1300w...

You'll notice my PSU is a Corsair HX1000. Funny thing about this power supply, it's actually a 1500w unit in disguise, but Corsair couldn't label it as such or else they'd lose the efficiency rating. I grabbed it for $70 from another forum member last year and have had no stability problems pulling 700w+ from each rail. The fan doesn't even spin up all the way pulling 1300w. I had it at 1450w for awhile before I undervolted the cards. The thing is a beast.

And the results are about 3.1Mh give or take, each core running @ 1100/1500. GPU0 runs the desktop, so it hashes a bit lower when the computer is in use. To game, I simply shut off one (or two). Interesting story about the VRM temps, when using the stock thermal pads on the EK waterblocks they were shooting up to 80 degrees or more. I replaced them with Fujipoly thermal pads and they literally dropped 20 degrees. I totally recommend them.

Happy (and safe) mining everyone!

Very nice rig, great temps. it is amazing 1000W power supply unit.

Are you 100% sure it is drawing 950Watts for 2.9MH?

This sounds TOO good to be true

I belive the 270's "non-x" are great value right now, u can squeeze almost 500kh/s (475-490) from them for ½ price (210$ in Sweden with BF4) of the 280x (385$).
My kill a watt-adapter measure's values from 940-980W @ wall on 100% load. I downclocked the CPU and no connected fans.

That makes it a very good price/performance rig, what is the temps of the cards? Mind to share cgminer screen ?

I force BIOS to "always on" on power restore, then use the Power Supply switch to kill power and bring it back on that way.
We do this as well, but a quick screwdriver to the pins works just as well, esp when you want the OS to shutdown nicely.

With two PSU's it is not that easy to turn them on simultainlasly.

Here is our 19" 4U rackable rig prototype

We have 3x R9 290 and 2x R9 280X but it looks like they don't like to work together.
Testing with only the 290s, the ventilation was quite good and temperature was the same than in our open rigs (~90°).

We'll rewire with 5x R9 290 (the 1600W should be at its limit) and test how it goes.
We could also put the PSU near motherboard, and space the GPU a little bit more.

If it works then we'll be able to fit 10 rigs per 19" bay, and make a nice looking laser cut front panel for each case Smiley

Eric

Where did you bought those long usb cables, or they are 30 cm ones?

Here is my first rig, The crate is from Iceland lol. It was hard to cut it. 4 x Gigabyte r9 280x Rev 2 hashing 730kh each. total 2.92mh rig.

Should I point my Powersupply fan to outside?

This was my gaming rig with ancient msi p35 platinum mb and downgraded cpu to intel e4500 dual core. 4 x Gigabyte r9 280x Rev 2 hashing 740kh each. total 1.48mh rig.

realy nice rig, good idea to pt some cards in original slots too Smiley
