All of what you describe here, the problem is not BitShares but the problem of OL
BitShares does not provide security for funds. BitShares is not decentralized. BitShares and OpenLedger are probably affiliated. BitShares is a perfect instrument for stealing money because they can create a new "bridge", collect money, then destroy the bridge, and repeat this again and again. That's why BitShares is a scam project.

Don't know if you saw this already:
https://www.reddit.com/r/litecoin/comments/k1yc04/openledger_dex_alleged_fraud_investigation/
You're not the only one having problems, it would appear. Should probably confer with those guys as I don't think anyone else on the forum has used Bitshares in approx. 1 million years.
Yes, I saw this post on Reddit and I sent email to hwtu20 (at) protonmail dot com to get in touch few days ago. No reply for the moment.

Also, there is a thread for OpenLedger on the forum, its been inactive for over a year but I referenced this discussion there.
Thank you very much for making this discussion more visible. I sent also request to CoinMarketCap using this form
https://support.coinmarketcap.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360000562051
asking to add the information on the BitShare page about scam risks, but I don't think they will do it.

In the instruction, how to launch a BitShares Cli-Wallet, here
https://dev.bitshares.works/en/master/development/apps/cli_wallet.html
they use an OpenLedger as an example. It looks like BitShares and OpenLedger are affiliated companies.

That's just the circulating supply of OPEN.ETH, not necessarily reflective of how much ETH was unfairly trapped when the bridge was removed. There's less than 30 OPEN.ETH for sale on the entire BitShares orderbook.
As far as I understand, the circulating supply is what physically exists in BitShares platform. If somebody luckily removed his open.BTS last year from Bitshares using OpenLedger bridge, the circulating supply would decrease.

What was the value that you bought/sent ETH/open.ETH? And did you use the platform during that period to get notifications?
Initially I sent 0.231562 ETH to the BitShares wallet, I bought 283 BTS and the rest of my money I left in Open.ETH up to now. I made this investment 29.01.2018 (see the screenshot), and the price of ETH at that time was about ~1000$ ( https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ethereum/ ). Then the prices went down and I left my investments for better times. Recently I decided to check how much I earned during 3 years and surprisingly I discovered that my money were actually stolen. I never received notifications neither from BitShares, nor from OpenLedger.

While I don't think he went out and bought a yacht with your $275
The total quantity of scammed Open.ETH is 6775 (see the screenshot), so 12 millions dollars is enough to buy a yacht. But there are also Open.BTC, Open.DOGE etc. He is very rich, this guy, now.

The OpenLedger guy is pretty active on Twitter. You can ask him about what do there. I recommend not accusing him of scamming or anything at first as he'll be less inclined to help you.
I sent a message to OpenLedger, using the form here https://openledger.info/contacts/
Also I sent email to BitShares using the contact email dbis@bitshares.org, which they provide here: https://bitshares.org/#/
No reply in both cases.

Out of curiosity, what were you planning on buying at Bitshares? I notice its undergoing a pump, but other than that I can't imagine anything new is happening over there.
I wanted to buy BitShares because I think that the future belongs to decentralized platforms. But since the price of BTS was slowly decreasing during long time, I bought only 283 BTS, and left the rest of my money in Open.ETH, thinking that my funds are safe. But it turned out that BitShares team always lies saying that their platform is decentralized. There are serious risks and now I want to warn others.

BitShares is a well-known platform for cryptocurrencies exchange. They say :

"BitShares is a decentralized platform designed to provide a more efficient global payment network and is commonly used for securely trading cryptocurrencies without any intermediaries."
see https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitshares/

This is a lie and a fraud !  The platform is not decentralized and does not provide security for funds. A cryptocurrency, that you transfer to the BitShares wallet, is actually sent to some outside company controlled by a certain person. And it depends only on the goodwill and honesty of this person, whether you get your money back or not. For your cryptocurrency you get a "debt certificate". In my case, I sent ETH to the BitShares wallet and I received open.ETH in return, which I kept there. A centralized company, which took my ETH, is OpenLedger. What happened with OpenLedger ? It disappeared with my ETH. See here: https://safenetforum.org/t/open-ledger-dex-has-closed-all-activities/32312
What happens with my open.ETH ? It could not be transferred back to ETH. I can sell it inside BitShares wallet with 99% discount.  Below I put a screenshot from my BitShares wallet, you can see that I have 0.1497 ETH blocked in the wallet and it could not be withdrawn.

You can say me that it is not a problem of the BitShares platform. Yes, but it could happen with any other type of assets you keep in the wallet. The platform does not provide any security of the funds and you can lose all your money one day. The BitShares company never warn the users about this kind of risks. I strongly recommend never use BitShares platform for any type of operations with cryptocurrencies.

At the end I would like to show you a CEO of OpenLedger, Ronny Boesing, a guy who has stolen my 0.1497 ETH using BitShares platform. He probably bought himself a yacht already.

I was playing in Freebitco.in during ~3 years, these are my achivements. The biggest numbers I rooled in Free BTC:
9993 - 1 time
9992 - 2 times
9990 - 1 time
9989 - 2 times

and never the bigger number than 9993. After reading this thread, now I am sure that Freebitco.in is cheating.

We have 0 clue who you guys are, until we know it's highly likely this is another scam coin. - Prove me wrong.
There is only 1 guy, CaptDero, who develops Dero soft. He is already a millionaire, as he keeps 2000000 premined coins (look to the block 1).  As the site https://forum.dero.io/ is registered in France, it is likely he is also from France. Serena is from western Canada, she owns a large mining farm and produces untruthful info for the community. There is the 3rd guy, but I did not payed attention on him.

The DAG + cryptonote goes live on the mainnet before the end of the month guaranteed
Is it the same guarantee as you guaranteed to switch the algo to anti-ASIC ?

I'm sure we all misunderstood. Surely they will use v7 and keep forking as needed,
Grin Grin Grin Good joke !

The most dirty trick is that they confirmed many times, that with "Atlantis" they change the algo to be ASIC-resistant, after they asked the community to participate in new code testing, and immediately after the testing is finished, they announced that the coin will remain ASIC-oriented. So, dear community, we don't need you any more. Thanks for pushing the project and making it visible, we keep our 2000000 premined coins and we are comfortable with the future emission controlled by Chinese ASIC farms.

All this bla-bla "update from the Dero Project team dated June.24/2018" is a bullshit.

This is an update from the Dero Project team dated June.24/2018.
At this time we’ve decided that the best thing for a strong and secure network is to retain our current proof-of-work algorithm (CryptoNight).

They cheated us during 3 months !

Hello people. Any news about Atlantis?
What do you guys say about This
Stuff i can buy? All used
 I5 3570k com cooler + 8(2x4)gb ram 1866mhz + board saberthooth z77 + ssd 120gb +hdd 500gb +fonte 600w gold + rx560 4gb
350€. Its a good price?
Like i Said i dont understand mutch about deskop
1. The devs did not announce yet which algorithm will be used for mining after Atlantis, so we do not know if GPU mining will be possible (or profitable) on Dero. Maybe it will be not Cryptonight-family at all, or only CPU mining with daemon will be possible.
2. For mining rig 4Gb ram and 64Gb SSD is enough. You don't need hdd 500gb at all.
3. Power supply unit 600w will be enough only for ~2 video cards AMD and for ~3 NVidia. You should sum energy consumption for all your video cards and add ~100-150 W for the processor and other stuff.
4. Note, that AMD Ryzen 7 1700 processor gives ~520 H/s with overclocking on CryptoNight-V7, the same as Nvidia GTX 1060 - 6 Gb. But it gives only ~200 H/s on CryptoNight-Heavy (GTX 1060 gives ~420 H/s on heavy).  I5 3570 processor has only 6Mb L3 cash memory, so on CryptoNight-V7 you can use 3 threads with ~70*3=210 h/s and only 1 thread on CryptoNight-Heavy with ~70h/s, as it requires 4Mb L3 cash per thread.
5. AMD Ryzen 7 1700 is more energy effective with the same hashrate than Ryzen 7 1700x or Ryzen 7 1800. For Ryzen I suggest to buy a good cooler, as the cheap one will be noisy on full load. AMD processors are hotter than Intel.
6. RX560 4Gb is not good either, as it gives only ~310 H/s. The benchmarks for CryptoNight-V7 you can find here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18IrFEhWP89oG_BTUsQGS5IDG8LUYjCHDiRQkOuQ4a9A/edit#gid=1518673099

The story was like this:

1. When ASICs were anounced by Bitmain, Serena, as a representative of Dero devs, promised to spend her personal 20000$ to buy 3 ASICs to disassemble them in order to understand, how they are functioning and to release ASIC-resistant algo as soon as possible. https://forum.dero.io/t/deros-official-position-on-asics/281

"I will personally drop the $20,000 USD to buy the 3 well advertised ASICs to let our developers literally tear them apart and you can hold me to that."

2. "We are going to combat ASICs don’t worry" (Serena)

https://forum.dero.io/t/deros-official-position-on-asics/281/10

2.  After Monero team switched to Cryptonight-V7, Serena said that it is not a problem to switch to ASIC-resistant algo. They can even generate and switch the algo every few seconds. "Our devs even built an asic-resistant algo generator that can produce hundreds of new algos/second."

But at the same time Serena refused to release a new mining soft, which can mine with this kind changing algo. "We’re not planning to release our own mining program at this time or push our own updates for mining software. The algo generator is possible but it will require more time/resources and our team is currently focused on other things for the time being."

https://forum.dero.io/t/about-anonymous-hashrate-and-pools/343/17

3. Recently Serena said "We have confirmed that we are using a new algorithm that isn't ASIC friendly. ... For now though, we are moving to a brand new algo and it takes quite a while to develop an ASIC for any algo." The possible name of the algo is Dero-DAG ? Note that at the moment the mining soft for this band-new algo does not exist (otherwise it is not a brand-new), and as it is stated just before, there are no plans to release it.

4. The conclusion is that: even if some day (devs never announced the exact date) the Dero will switch to a new Asic-resistant algo, it will be only once, after that Bitmain is welcome to develop a brand new ASIC for it.

"ASIC technology is advancing, and perhaps it's inevitable that mining/network security" (Serena)  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2525508.3120

6. The devs are focused to create "robust, secure, energy efficient and decentralized blockchain network". Note, that ASICs are the most energy efficient devices ever.

I tried to install GUI wallet in Linux Ubuntu, following the instruction here

but could not perform the line: "3. Build/download Saronite binaries from Saronite repo and put it to Resources/bin sub-directory." , as I did not fined any binaries in Saronite repo.

Is DERO ASIC resistant?
It will be with the Atlantis release in a few weeks.
I doubt it. The devs avoid to confirm that. If you ask the devs, they will say something like "we are working on the most robust, secure, energy efficient and decentralized blockchain". Note, that ASICs are the most energy efficient devices ever.

We have confirmed that we are using a new algorithm that isn't ASIC friendly. This is what we have said we would do, and it will be released with Atlantis.

Yes, what is generally referred to as ASIC technology is advancing, and perhaps it's inevitable that mining/network security heads in this direction for a number of reasons. For now though, we are moving to a brand new algo and it takes quite a while to develop an ASIC for any algo.
So, you confirm that the change of algo will happen not because you would like to fight ASICs, but because you are creating the most robust, secure, energy efficient and decentralized blockchain. Later on the BitMain is welcome to develop a new ASIC for Dero because it's inevitable. “The emergence of specialized mining machine for a cryptocurrency is normal market economy phenomenon.[…] If there are professional mining machines, the events like ‘Monero was attacked by more than 500,000 botnets’ could be avoided,” referring to botnets that have been used to mine Monero.” - said some Monero [Monero-Classic] enthusiasts from Singapore.

PoW algorithm is not mentioned in this update
Does it mean that in this update there will be no change of PoW algo and Dero will remain ASICs-oriented coin ?

2 Loki_Project:

Finally the GUI Linux wallet runs and it looks very nice ! Thanks a lot !

1. But the problem is when I tried to recover my wallet from the 25 words seed, which I previously generated with your loki-offline-wallet-generator-master , the generated address is different. My original address begins with "LAV2nBG...", but the GUI wallet shows the address "57NVXX...", generated with the same seed. I think the correct wallet address for Loki should always starts with "L" ? That means the recovery procedure in GUI Linux wallet does not work correctly ?

2. Another problem. It says "Daemon is synchronized (2395)", but the current blockchain height is 8447.

3. Also it produces warnings like these:
....
2018-05-14 06:49:18.399       7fa1d16ec800   WARN    default   src/mnemonics/language_base.h:102   Español word 'rey' is shorter than its prefix length, 4

....
I found what was my problem. I marked Stagenet, but I should not mark any nets on this screen. So, the GUI Linux wallet successfully recovered my address.

But in the terminal it shows the following errors:
