Thank you,
Can you point me to anything discussing  good methods for cold storage? Ideally there would be complete directions.
As I said I know of the glacier protocol.

from recent posts https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/88237/is-there-a-reason-to-why-bitcoin-core-does-not-implement-bip39/88244#88244
and older posts - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=812894.msg10907427#msg10907427  (Gregg Maxwell comment "Effectively BIP39 is a thinly veiled brainwallet scheme with a woefully weak KDF. It's prone to misuse, and when misused it picks up all the bad properties you might expect it to pick up.)

I am concerned about using Trezor, Ledger, Cold Card etc, regarding issues of PBKDF2. I believe that the seed is not adequate if I understand Greg Maxwell's comment..

I would love direction from Greg Maxwell or other Core devs what method of cold storage is reasonable for security but not prone to significant error. Further one that provides reasonable redundancy for multiple locations.

Copying Private keys by hand for dozens of addresses seems a less than ideal way of securing value with out making substantial mistakes.
Someone suggested ZFEC for encrypton by Zooko, however that project seems to not be well maintained or still alive.

I have looked at the glacier protocol and Armory however, Bitcoin Armory is not well maintained and Glacier appears quite difficult.
But maybe that is the route one ought to take.

I am not a dev, as must be pretty obvious by now.
I would love some advice on is "best practices."And where might I find documentation for complete directions.

Thank you very much for your help.

I am interested inclaiming  BTCD or BCD "Bitcoin Diamond" however there are issues with your suggestion.

A trezor uses (at I am using a 24 word seed plus passphrase) Bitpie/Bither recovers using a 12 wors seed for the wallet.

so I do not believe I can recover my empty (of bitcon, not BCD) wallet with BitPie/Bither.  Do you

Know a way which that can be done?

2. I have looked on the Bitcoin Diamond Github.  https://github.com/eveybcd/BitcoinDiamond/releases

 bitcoindiamond-1.0.0-win64-setup-unsigned.exe

This is the RC1 version of BCD. Please test and report bugs to Issue Tracker. Thanks a lot!

Also note that Windows and macOS packages are not signed, so you may get a warning while running them.

That win64 is an unsigned EXE file.  I am not a DEV or programmer and do not know how to verify the integrity of such a file.

As such I am unwilling to install it on my computer.   ANY thoughts for me?

Thanks.

Re: Full Nodes and Wallets Trezor, Ledger Nano or mSigna pros and cons how to set up

I really appreciate your answer. Unfortunately you did not answer my question.

I know how to use hardware wallets.  really quite simple. I have now created multiple new Hardware wallets, Trezor and Ledger Nano S. and recovered them each with others Trezors or Ledgers and recovered Ledgers with Trezors.

If you didn't know the answer to the question I asked. Giving the answer you gave was really quite meaning less.

If you did know the answer to the question then giving the answer you gave was obnoxious.

Thanks really for nothing.

Do I use Green Address to set up a full node with a Trezor or Ledger Nano S?

What is advantages of hardware HD wallet vs mSigna by Ciphrex

I tried using BitcoinArmory but its does not seem to be up to date.
And I need help in setting this up.

Also Can I set up a hardware wallet like Trezor or Nano S and set it up with multi signatues.

Can Bitcoins be accessed by using the Trezor/Nano and (GreenAddress) or does it have to be accessd through the node.

Where can I get instructions on setting this up?

Thank you
