Pictures of all listed items are available here: http://imgur.com/a/SEHUp#0

I could be an extremely patient but simultaneously incompetent scammer, but I'm pretty sure I'm just a user who doesn't socialize much on these forums.

K, I lol'd. Still, expect to use escrow.

I can deal. I'm willing to accommodate any reasonable way buyers want to protect themselves.

Good luck with the post count as lately a few have been scammed badly.

Thanks. Real life keeps me busy and I know I'm not the most vocal member of the bitcoin community, but I'm not sure what to do about that. (short of posting only in order to generate Marketplace cred, something I'm really not interested in doing)

I registered my account back in Spring '11, if that helps allay anyone's fears. I could be an extremely patient but simultaneously incompetent scammer, but I'm pretty sure I'm just a user who doesn't socialize much on these forums.

SOLD Hello everyone. I'm moving soon and don't need a mining rig right now. (I didn't need a mining rig before and barely spent any time properly tending it and keeping it running, but who's keeping track?) If any of you want one or two gently used 6870s I'll sell them to you for (updated 7/18) 14 BTC each or best offer.

Here is a picture.

SOLD I also have an old 6950 (flashed to 6970) that I used to use primarily for gaming. It has weird artifacting and is under no warranty, as far as I can tell. Selling to anyone who wants to try to squeeze hashes out of it or repair it or weight their papers with it for best offer.

On the positive side, he had the opportunity to scam me out of over 100 BTC, didn't. I'm typing this post on the Xoom tablet he sent.

On the other hand, he charged me extra for shipping then sent it, or used an intermediary who sent it, a couple business days and a weekend late. This isn't that big of a deal, though.

Finally, the reason why this is only a (very) limited recommendation. The AC charger sent with the tablet and included in the price didn't work. I had to order a replacement and was not refunded the cost. I called, emailed, and private messaged him, providing documentation of my purchase of the replacement, but received no response whatsoever. No explanation or excuse or even refusal, just silence.

While I can verify that he's probably not what I would normally consider a scammer (he did send the tablet, after all), I'm hesitant to do business with him in the future.

That's pretty cool, but does it support Prime-style shipping? I'd really enjoy getting 3.99 an item one day shipping.

And here is a user testimonial : I have used your site a while ago, I don't remember encountering usability or functionality issues, but I definitely remember that your design striked me as being pretty unpleasant. And it's a well known fact that the user perception is never rational and objective, it's influenced by purely subjective factors such as color, layout etc.

So maybe instead of "demanding documentation" and feeling threatened you should use this opportunity to improve and gather user feedback in a friendlier way.

Just my 2 bitcents, take care Smiley

I think what the Bidding Pond user is mad about is less the claims that the site's UI isn't entirely pleasant, but Charlie's claim that many users were unsatisfied with the site's service. There's a big difference between the two and I can see why he/she/it would definitely want to request documentation, both to get to the bottom of any potential problems and to protect the site from unfounded but potentially damaging rumors.

Stating that your user experience with someone's site was less than idea is totally fine. Stating that many people were unsatisfied with and have complained about a site's service, without the ability to back up this assertion, isn't.

Re: What happens if the US bans the use of bitcoins?
by

- Current bitcoin-to-cash and cash-to-bitcoin services will be shut down.  No one could continue to operate a decently large service like that and not be caught.
Only those in the US. I mean, the US has banned Internet poker as well, but half of the world is still doing it. I'm not sure how many of the services are actually based in the US.
Quote
- Bitcoin value would drop like a rock overnight.  Without anyone being able to exchange bitcoins for USD, many investors/speculators would lose confidence and try to sell sell sell as quickly as possible to avoid being stuck with bitcoins they cannot use (read: cannot continue investing with).  Investors/speculators don't want to buy stuff with bitcoins, they are only in it for what they can get out of it in USD.
Or the price might increase, because they have an illegality/danger-premium, like drugs.

It's hard to predict in advance.

I think your comparison of bitcoin exchangers to internet poker companies is pretty apt, but I think dangers still exist. Those processors not located in the US could continue to act, but not with total impunity. US-friendly payment processors would refuse to do business with them, freeze their funds, etc.

The problem with the drugs comparison is that drugs are a consumable good that get people high regardless of rarity. Bitcoins are just another medium of exchange. The more difficult they are to exchange, the less useful they are. The extent to which US can effectively disrupt the ability of individuals to exchange them is the extent to which bitcoins will lose value given a US ban.

[CLOSED] Buying Motorola Xoom or other Honeycomb tablet
by

Willing to pay ~80 BTC for new or lightly used Motorola Xoom tablet or ~70 for an Eee Transformer without dock. I totally understand that bitcoin prices are pretty volatile now and am willing to negotiate given their continued movement. I'm also willing to use whatever escrow service you recommend. I am new to using the marketplace, so anyone with tips for how to make this transaction go smoothly is encouraged to put in their two cents.
