Re: Importance of budgeting
by
Iroh
on 25/07/2025, 13:36:44 UTC
It is an act of financial recklessness that can leads an individuals to spend more then they earns, and potentially causing debt or financial difficulties. I strongly believe that our needs and wants are much greater than our income, but the best way to prevent overspending is through budgeting, just as everyone said.

You can say someone is being financially reckless when spending way more than he earns and like you noted, leading to financial difficulties and certainly debts.
Budgeting in simple terms means planning whatever income you're got on how best to spend on what's important and needed at the moment. Our wants being so insatiable could be said to be greater than our income, our needs however, can be comfortably taken care of also having some left over for savings.

Perhaps you're the one that's thinking about all the hype and talk on social media a little bit too much? Bitcoin is doing great and has continued to beat expectations, reaching a new height. Of course it would be widely talked about. What did you expect?
You talk about seeing all whatever it is you're seeing on Twitter. Lots of things, news, information as well as propaganda are being regularly posted on there. Take it easy yourself. Don't let memes and tales from random accounts that are mostly likely bots on social media tug at your heart strings.

Re: Investment is for everyone

Hearing testimonies from different sources, I can only conclude that "You don’t need to be rich to invest, but you need to invest to be rich." Riches aside, investment can increase your financial freedom, but the problem with most people is procrastination, they want this BIG capital to invest, but it is not like that.

Investments, no doubt has been proven to grow wealth. We shouldn't forget in a haste that, as investments has its rewards, there are also risks(sometimes really crazy ones)attached and you could as well lose your money as quickly as you could blink your eyes.
I would say the major problem on why people can't invest isn't procrastination, rather, it's simply cause there isn't any money that is kept aside and can be used for investments. When you haven't got anything saved up, how/what would you invest?

You don't have to be rich to invest. That's true. You also don't want to use all you've got to invest having little to nothing to fall back on while waiting on your investment to yield profits(if it does)

Big business people are big due to their investment and they have no saving but they have creative mind and they used that mind to take debt for the business and now they are paying zero tax legally.

Businesses, big and small do have savings. Big corporations are majorly big cause they've got investments all over that bring in profits. Doesn't mean there isn't any savings. You can literally have both savings and investments. These large corporations definitely have money saved and reserved to guard against unforeseen events that could be detrimental and may hinder the profits from rolling in.

Also, new and hot projects that were not planned for are invested in using money that is saved up.
Having savings is like having a safety net on a construction site. It helps guard against unforseen circumstances. What business wouldn't have some savings?

Most exchanges would probably have a third party company do these verification checks. So be sure to note that when you give out your information to get verified on such exchanges.

KYC in ecchanges do have its uses as it helps one to prove ownership of an account amongst other things. Great for people who don't mind giving a great deal of control to the exchange holding and managing their funds.
About the data collected and who gets to see it? Who knows.. it could always be shared, sold or stolen. Once it's out there, it's out there.

Re: Biggest Bitcoin holder
by

on 18/07/2025, 12:18:45 UTC
It's not about their wealth and who is richer between Elon Musk and Michael Saylor. They are both rich and smart but we are not discussing about their intelligent scores here too. Who is smarter is not important and as Bitcoiners, I think we have a same main concern as "Who has more contributions for Bitcoin adoption and Bitcoin community so far and in the future".

The topic literally says "biggest bitcoin holder". No one is talking about intelligent scores or who has more contributions to the adoption of bitcoin and its community. It's simply who holds the highest number of bitcoin.
Satoshi currently holds the highest number of bitcoin and seeing that he hasn't moved or sold any, he sits comfortably at the top of the list of the biggest holders.

Re: Some negative effects of foreign loans and bailouts to developing countries
by
Iroh
on 05/06/2025, 21:23:48 UTC
I would say your third point in your post, corruption is the main hindrance affecting developing countries concerning the issues of loans and bailouts.
Loans typically given out, comes with an interest attached. A country, having focused leaders with genuine plans to grow the country would take loans only when necessary and use them for it's intended use and not steal such funds for personal use.

When borrowed funds are embezzled, and it's intended use left unaccomplished, there is little option than to borrow again for that same project. And having little to no credit worthiness, financial institutions that give loans wouldn't be so willing to give such countries more loans.
Desperation sets in and in a bid to get more loans, deals are made. Deals that aren't favorable for the country taking the loan and putting the country into more debt than it could manage.

Re: Don't Gamble when you are Broke
by

on 05/06/2025, 20:15:22 UTC
The more I get into this section and keep reading comments from this post, the more I realize that people understand exactly how things work, but just for "discussion" sake, they keep bringing it up. You can imagine how many comments have been made under this post already?

Isn't it enough for anyone to understand that being broke is, practically the lack of money? Then why should someone decide to gamble when they don't have money to pay for it? Sort yourself out and get something doing -- gambling should be the least of your problems

I think a lot of topics(this one included) has been extensively talked about already, especially on this board but keep reappearing, being asked in a different way and tone likely for the sake of bringing up discussions. Such topics, being redundant would then go on to have a handful of good, quite useful contributions and then a sea of also contributions all saying more or less the same thing.

Everyone understands that no money equals being broke. And even if it's seemingly common sense not to gamble with the last money in your possession, a lot of people still go ahead to do it. And later regret it. People actually use the last money they've got having high hopes of winning some more for themselves.

That being old is what brings in all the experiences, yes he can't run and do the tricks he used to do before right now because of his age but his experience gathered all through his career is what's keeping him going. Old players like Ronaldo knows exactly how to and where to position for the ball when his team gets to the opponent box, that's where the experience comes in. Even at his age, there are difficult chances that Ronaldo will convert that these younger strikers can't. Just watch how these old players positions for their goals.

I think Ronaldo is doing a great job at staying as fit as he is. He still works hard and though he may be perceived as being old, I think he's still quite relevant in the team. If not for anything else, for motivational purposes in boosting the morale of the team.

There was an attempt he made at goal with a header from a corner kick. Springing up and above everyone else, I knew he still got it. Although, it went wide, I thought that was a nice attempt and pretty good for an "old" player.
He may not be as hot as he was in his prime, he still knows what needs to be done and strives to do it.

Re: Diversify your assets.
by
Iroh
on 04/06/2025, 17:57:51 UTC
Reading through the thread it really struck me that everyone is dishing out advice like I. Business or life there is a text book to follow.
It is easier to tell your friends dad which investment he can diversify into but you forget that there are factors like your friends dad interests, you friends dad capital or even the potentials of other businesses doing well.

What happened to your friend is a tragedy but this doesn't mean he wasn't smart. You can Invest in food, or other businesses and it ends by closing it up. When tragedy happens like this that is where you reserve comes it to help you stand, and the big mistake I see here is not getting insurance on the property. Let people do what they feel ok to do, investment is not about the amount you can handle but how well and effective is it for you.

It's easy to have and share opinions when you're not the one in the spotlight. You're right, business and investments generally doesn't have a manual that one could follow hence the different opinions from people.

You've got a good point. Diversifying your business investments happens when you've got the capital to easily manage them. Having little capital, it's much better to do a proper research on one and when satisifed it could bring you some good return. pour your energy into it. This is where insurance comes in. Things can and do go wrong at any time(when you least expect). Things beyond our control. Hence the need to have some good insurance.

Re: US trade court rules Trump overstepped his authority with global tariffs
by

on 29/05/2025, 12:25:21 UTC
For those who do not support Trump's tariff war, this is great news because the US trade court has blocked Trump's aggressive actions.

Trump's tariff wars has been unnecessary and so far hasn't been beneficial(at least to the general public) and I really don't see why anyone would actually support these policies. It's no wonder it has been rightly dubbed TACO trade.

I once thought Trump doesn't fully understand the consequences of what he spews out concerning tariffs and international trade, but after posting on his truth social about how it's a great time to buy before revising his tariffs, it's became clear that he does understand at the very least, how to manipulate the markets for the benefit of only a handful of people.

Manchester United's performance was really bad and they were completely unable to match Tottenham's game.
The red card received by captain Fernandes made the situation worse so that it looked so difficult to develop the game.
The result of the defeat made Ten Hak even more disliked by fans and I think he is in trouble now.
He really doesn't know how to implement a strategy to stop Tottenham's attack and there were many mistakes made by Manchester United players in the match.

They sure didn't put up the best performance while playing and the 3 goals they conceded is certainly proof of that. Admittedly,  they did put up somewhat of a fight.
I didn't think Zirkzee was the perfect pick as forward to start the game with. Also, the red card gotten by Fernandes further weakened their morale, if they had any to begin with, as they were one man down.

Onana did a great deal in helping keep balls from going in and the scoreline would have been far more humiliating if not for Onana managing to keep a few of the goal bound shots from going in.

Where to start earning?

I tried selling things, but nobody is interested yet

I wouldn't want to purchase anything from just any newbie account that barely has a history on here. You've also haven't got any reputation as one who sells stuffs. Perhaps, that would have helped some members turn a blind eye to your newbie account.
I'm sure you can understand any hesitation from other members to do a trade with you when there are other reputable people that are known and somewhat trusted by the community.

Don't let all of that bring you down. Keep doing what you do and you'll definitely get the recognition and trades you now desire.

Re: The Power Of Marketing!
by
Iroh
on 24/09/2024, 10:32:38 UTC
Marketing literally helps to sell your product or services to potential consumers. If done right, it gives a product or service a much wider coverage thereby keeping and attracting new consumers.
Marketing helps put your business out there. A strategic marketing team would strive and likely succeed in giving your business a wider audience as shown in the example in the OP. A business that has plans to grow, expand and succeed in the labor market would definitely want people to know about them.

Having quality products and services does help in retaining consumers. Reaching out to and getting these consumers is what's needed to be done and that's marketing comes in.

And talking about Mitoma he is facing a lot of difficulties playing from that win into the 18-yard. All thanks to Mazraoui will keep a close mark on Mitoma. As for Rahsford, he is out of the game because his presence in the game since has not contributed anything good to the team. It is obvious that he will be sitting in the bench after every first half of any game.

Hopefully Manchester United could come out as the winner. It’s about 3 minutes till the 90 minutes are up and perhaps some minutes of extra time. I agree, Rashford hasn’t been really good in this game and I think he should have been substituted much earlier.
I felt sorry for Manchester United as the second goal was disallowed due to Zirkzee being offside .
The game is slowly looking to be a draw but it can be anyone’s game as both sides are still pushing on looking for another goal to up the other and claim the three points.
