Bumping because people are only responding through PM. Will have some reviews posted soon.

Tried to speak to this guy (talktobh) on Skype about buying his script, but all he did was continually post Eminem lyrics to me. Guys a weirdo, and clearly a scammer. Avoid buying anything from this scammer!

Everything this man says is true.

Please allow me to showcase several excerpts from our exchange:

[9:22:50 PM] Alex: you ain't selling your shitty dice script on BTC talk now fuck face Smiley
Quote
[9:32:28 PM] Alex: fuck your religion

[9:33:46 PM] Alex: chinese cunt

I have concluded that this man is vulgar, intolerant, and racist.

Sorry about that everyone.

I've investigated the problem and I'm pretty sure it wasn't a problem with the source code or Bitcoin handling code. It seems to be something stupid I did with the database that let someone change their balance. This won't be a problem with the real version as the Bitcoin daemon as built-in checks against this kind of thing.

I've fixed the problem with blank usernames.

The site should also be back up.

I apologize for the fuck-ups; by software standards, we're still in the alpha stage of testing (hence why I released a demo first) and I'm happy we're catching the bugs now rather than later.
I've noticed that it looks like usernames are trimmed of spaces on the beginning and end of the string. This means that " user " would show up as "user" and "   " would show up as "" which we already know is causing a problem with the table.
While I think this is a very nice setup (although in need of work) it is not ready for sale and you probably shouldn't take any orders yet.
I'll do my best to help out, though. Wink

Edit - betting less than 0.000001 simply doesn't do anything. Tongue

Thanks for the feedback. Both issues should be fixed now. Please let me know about anything else!

Might get a bit chaotic with more than 3 people playing at once. Smiley

You definitely have a great start to your script.  I might suggest some load balancing work because once you get more than 4 players playing at the same time the site code really slows down and after running a few "players" at once I was able to get one player seeing 5 seconds ahead of other players.  (Meaning time stamps were starting to get way off between players)

Good point, definitely something to think about. I will say that right now the site is running off something pretty slow. I don't know much about load balancing to be honest. Do you have any tips?

Also, meh, I'm okay with the bets being off, but if the chat's off...

I think when you're a developer, you feel ok paying for some things and guilty paying for others. For example, an IDE would be worth paying for. But a library would not. The things that you feel especially bad paying for are the things that you feel you could just do yourself if you weren't so lazy. So no offense, but I think you'll have a hard time finding someone to pay for this.

Hello,

Good job with the script. Its a nice addition to all the other things that are selling out there.
I agree with Acoins perspective about selling it cheaper for a larger number of customers. I think at today's rate 0.5 Btc is a good price.
I think people would be able to recover that in a month if done properly.
Wish you good luck.

Regards

Duke

I agree with the 0.5BTC rate, you will get a lot more sales instead of none at all

Ps. I noticed a bug in the demo with the chat box, if you keep pressing enter with a blank message it just spams the box with the username

Okay, thanks for the feedback guys. The 1.0 BTC was really just a neat number. I'll try 0.5 BTC for a while and see how it goes.

Additional thanks to x8008 for the heads-up; fixed.

Any thoughts on the pricing? CoinDice sells for 1.1 BTC & I feel the quality of my work is certainly above 91% the quality of theirs. That being said, if people deem my script too cheap or expensive, I'd like to know.

Specifically, what would you pay for Bourbon?

Hello. Still waiting for you to reply to my PM. Please reply.

Just responded. (Well, I have a message written, but it'll take another six minutes before BitcoinTalk lets me send it.)

I think realistically you won't get to many sales at 1BTC, if you priced at .5BTC or even .25BTC you would get many more customers. I wouldn't charge less than .25BTC though.

Overall I think you would end up making more money, as you might get less per sale but you will get more sales.

Site looks really good, doesn't appear to be a copy of anyone elses script (given I don't frequent that many dice sites) which is a fresh change Smiley

Hm, that's a pretty good idea. I'm trying to figure out how many people bought CoinDice. Do you know if dice scripts are sold a lot around here, which ones are the most popular, and how much they sold for?

Hi, I am a contract programmer who will build whatever you want. I accept payments through Bitcoin, PayPal, and Venmo.

I recently finished building Bourbon, a dice game script that I'm also selling.

I'm experienced in delivering full-stack web applications, especially those relating to cryptocurrencies/gambling.

If you have an idea for some game or product or whatever, I will build your entire initial prototype for you.

  • I use Python/web.py on the backend.
  • I use CoffeeScript (which compiles to JavaScript) and whatever necessary libraries for the frontend.
  • I will install everything on your server for you.

PM me or send an email to irwin@getbourbon.net.

Wow, kl, you clever user.

Just added checks so sneaky people can't bet negative amounts.

(That's not a problem in the real version; it's just that in the demo I wrote a database app to simulate account balances.)

Also, fixed icons so they don't look like shit.

Update: when you go on the site, it shows the last 25 bets so the page isn't empty, and starts showing you players' bets in real time even before you're logged in.

On the admin screen | players screen if I click the "next" button at the bottom I get an error msg-interal server error.  I'm also using safari on an iPad and the roll button on the main page does not work.  I will try on another browser since this is very interesting.

on the demo none of the links on top work

Those aren't links; it's a table header. Or are you expecting it to be sortable? Kind of a weird UX when bets are constantly coming in (I'd imagine it'd be best to keep it sorted by time).

Bourbon — Start your own modern dice game

I recently finished building Bourbon, a modern dice game script.

Instead of me talking about it first, please see this demo:
http://demo.getbourbon.net

You can also try the admin panel:
http://demo.getbourbon.net/admin

Features

  • Everything other dice scripts have— betting, Martingale botting, chat, etc.

  • An original aesthetically pleasing site design. It's the second-best design in the market after PrimeDice (I'll admit their design is fabulous), which all the existing scripts clearly copied (CoinDice being the obvious example). Notice the attention I've put into the detail. I'm looking at all the other dice scripts and they appear to be designed by people who don't understand the first thing about typography or whitespace.

  • A dashboard with stats and admin settings. You'll be able to manage the site without reading a single line of code.

  • A "provably fair" system that's genuinely provable. Unlike PrimeDice, users won't be able to accuse you of not being genuinely "provably fair." Please see this for more information.

  • Reliable code. I've tested everything several times, deployed to all the servers I claim to support (below), pen-tested it myself for vulnerabilities, etc.

Purchase

I am currently selling Bourbon for 1 BTC.

I'll be changing the price of Bourbon on a schedule. The first Monday of every week the price will increase by 5% (starting at 1 BTC the first week). This will happen until people stop buying the script. It should be obvious that the quicker you buy, the less you'll need to pay.

Why am I increasing the price this way? The first reason is that I don't want too many dice sites to spring up (God knows we have too many). The second reason is that I've always believed the first people to take risks should be rewarded. I reiterate: by buying Bourbon early on, you will pay less than your competitors.

To buy the script, PM me or email me at irwin@getbourbon.net.

Installation & Support

Bourbon is written in Python using web.py and tornado. In other words, it's not a PHP/MySQL script, so there is some work involved in the installation.

The script will include instructions & an installation script to make things as easy as possible. Bourbon officially supports Linux distributions derived from Arch Linux & Debian (which includes Ubuntu, Mint, etc.). If you purchase the script, I also offer the free service of installing it on your server for you provided you have a server with a clean installation of one of the aforementioned distributions.

This is the only type of support I will provide. I will not help you install it on other distributions or on a server that's already been fucked with. Once the site's up and running it should work until you break something. If you think it's my fault I'll take a look at it, but bear in mind that I've already professionally tested everything.

I have no idea how laws surrounding Bitcoin dice sites work (e.g. if you need hosting in a specific country), but if possible I highly recommend the hosting provided by DigitalOcean.

Bugs

While I'm confident in Bourbon's position as a high-quality dice script and am fairly sure there are few bugs if any, I am only human and if I fucked up, I fucked up. Please let me know how and I'll correct things.

http://puu.sh/9yqoO/03956891a4.png

Demo

Main site: http://demo.getbourbon.net
Admin: http://demo.getbourbon.net/admin

Features

1. Works with any Bitcoin-derived cryptocurrency. That includes BTC, LTC, DOGE, whatever.

2. Martingale botting. Built right into the betting box & works flawlessly.

3.  Integrated chat system that doesn't look like shit.

4. Original site design. It looks pretty decent IMO and isn't derived from PrimeDice.

5. Site statistics & admin dashboard. You'll be able to deposit funds, withdraw profits, view players & bets, and generally run the site without a programmer.

6. A truly "provably fair" system. Users won't be able to accuse you of not being truly provably fair.

Purchase

I am currently selling Bourbon for 0.5 BTC. To buy the script, send bitcoins to:

Nice work. Just a couple tips about your UI:

#1— The background's fairly distracting. I'd either decrease its opacity, tone down the contrast, or switch to something like a colour/patterned background. You can also help things by adding a drop-shadow to the white text.

#2— Try to line things up & fix up the spacing. The "EARN" button is directly below the text-box, not lined up horizontally or vertically. There could be more space between "BTC Address:" and the box, which by the way looks disproportionately fat.

Other than that, great job; I like the nice & simple concept.
