Re: Bitcoin Vs Altcoin
by

I would rather have bitcoins than altcoins, so I think people should already be dumping their Altcoins like DOGE which has been ridiculous that has been rising up for no reason. I do think it is not wise to hold these coins anymore as bitcoins are about to rise back to $20,000 before the year ends and likely DOGE will just dump.

Depends on the altcoin. Don't buy something like DOGE or those shit other coins that some people just pump and dump. Best to keep just buying sure one like ETH, XMR or something like LTC. Some would look like good buys like that DOGE, since it has been pumping the past couple of days, but it is not really something that is legitimate.

Also, probably you should wait for the next bitcoin pump since it would drop the prices of alts and that is the best time to buy. A lot of alts are just extremely expensive already.

If you are starting then always start with bitcoins. Right now bitcoins are pretty low compared to its potential growth in the next couple of days. Since I there is a high likely that prices will go up due to the recent correction and after the correction no pump has happened and that resulted to alts going up beyond their true price. I see that alt holders will be dumping them in the next days to buy bitcoins back at low prices.

Re: Bitcoin crash
by

It did crash however I think it is ripe for it to pump again since a lot of altcoins just pump and they need to correct. Chances are people will start dumping alts and buy bitcoins as it is pretty low right now. I already cashed out my Doge, though a bit early at 45 sats each still good profits and looking like it will all crash back down to make bitcoins rise. This is always a seesaw action. When alts go up, bitcoins go down, then when bitcoins go up, people leave alts and go back to bitcoins.

I agree, this has been what I have observed. From the looks of it the alts are pretty high up there and they aren't supposed to be this high and BTC is pretty low and has not gone up since it corrected a few days ago. This might result to a reversal in the next days. It is extremely possible to see a change on who is leading, bitcoins or alts.

Then invest into bitcoins. That's always a good idea based on the history of bitcoins. I think it has beaten almost all investments as of now, since bitcoins has already almost grown to %1,000 just this year.

We must be realistic, dollar is the strongest currency of the world and dominated by USA superpower. of course they will do everything they can to keep it number one, bitcoin is hard to replace the dollar.
You are absolutely right. It will be very much difficult for Bitcoin to replace dollar. But there is nothing in this world which is not possible and there are likely chances that Bitcoin will replace Dollar in the future. We have already seen that Bitcoin is the top ranked Crypto Currency, so we can expect it to be the number 1 currency of the world as well.

I agree with. I believe the Bitcoin will coexist with many other fiat including Chinese Yuan or US dollar. It could be a reserve currency.

on 13/08/2017, 17:18:02 UTC
Thinking GTX1070 is the best choise now, 33 Mh/s on Ethash with 140-150 Wattage, and for other algos it's very good hashrate

That is the reason the price of 1070 is so high now.

Card Type: Nvidia 1070 ITX Mini Galax
Memory: 8 gb
ETH Hashrate: at stock 26 MHs // tuned 31 MHs
Equihash Hashrate: at stock 435 SOL/s // tuned 470 SOL/s
Power consumtion: 112 Watt ~

What is the dual mine speed and power?

So finally I went ahead with Zotac GTX 1060 3 GBs.

Created 2 new rigs of 5 cards each.

Using claymore miner and stock settings, each card gives ~18.5 MH/s.

The best thing about this card is the power usage, I have both the rigs using ANTEC 750 Watts supplies and are doing good. Tough the GPU-Z, for some reasons, would show the power consumption in % of TDP, I believe that the cards are taking no more than 70-75 watts each.

My previous 2 rigs with 5 x RX 480 each, needed additional PSUs as each card was consuming ~95 watts, and one of them, for some reasons, 125W.

Any suggestions towards increasing the MH/s for 1060s?

Yes, stop mining ETH like someone said before and mine ZEC instead.

That is right. For the nvidia cards, it is better to mine zec.

Well that depends when the world accept the bitcoins as a money. If bitcoins doesn't accept by the community then it cannot replace dollars.

In Japan, you will be able to use the bitcoin in 26 thousands shops soon.

I don't know about 2016 as the price barely increased in 2016. But yeah currently we are in 2017 and ltc is being pumped so hard that it reached it's all time high price at 24$.  And i'm sure this is not the end of the price increase the coin is going to be pumped more and we can expect maybe a 50$ price tag by july or maybe a 100$ by end of this year (if it survived).

Litecoin's all time high was $50 back in 2013.

That is easy to reach. But the price relative to the bitcoin is difficult.

I am guessing the key driver for LTC is the abundant of scrypt power available in China.
Where are those scrypt ASIC producers located at? Maybe they somewhat neglected investments into scrypt hashes due to stagnating LTC markets but they will for sure be capable of taking up faster than package delivery of fresh equipment reaches mining enthusiasts worldwide.

The ASIC producers are located in China. They are producing quite a lot now.

Re: Hashrate RX 570
by

The RX 5xx series is not a rebrand.
They are being made on an upgraded process that is reported to be a little more efficient (no hard figures yet though) and will allow them to be clocked about 5% faster than the corresponding RX 4xx series part.
I'd guess probably 5-19% lower power at the 5% reported clock increase, but I could be WAY off on that power guess.

As far as hashrate goes - it will depend on the coin, memory-limited stuff like ETH probably will see no or barely any increase, core-limited stuff like ZEC should see a small increase.

Also, AMD has indicated that VEGA will not be targeting the mainstream where the existing RX series lives anytime soon - they're targeting the high-end, where the Fury/FuryX/Nano used to aim at.

I suspect that there will be a short-term "new card availability limits" price premium for the RX 5xx series, but after a couple months they should settle in at the same pricing we see now on the RX 4xx series.

That is good speculation. I think the improvement will be similar between R9 390 and 290.

Re: Do You Think Bitcoin Will Replace Dollar Soon?

Coinbase CEO believes bitcoin will replace dollar within 15 years.

Read the following news:
http://cointelegraph.com/news/114983/coinbase-ceo-bitcoin-will-replace-dollar-within-15-years

Do you think it will be true? Are you positive towards bitcoin's future status?
I don't think that it will ever be possible to replace the dollar because the government won't let the dollar be replaced completely. They will find someway against the Bitcoin.
And I am very positive towards the future of the Bitcoin because it keeps growing in worth and the community keeps getting bigger.
Or they will still continue on there Daily operations without even worrying about Bitcoin. When you are talking about Bitcoin it is like you are seeing it as almost a threat to everything, but what you did not know is that Bitcoin can be controlled by the government as much as they want too. The government can even make a law to make Bitcoin addresses be identified to each users therefore making money laundering hard. A country's currency will not be ever replace by a foreign currency.  Cry

They cannot outlaw the law of gravity

In the same manner, they cannot outlaw Bitcoin. Indeed, they can adopt a law that will be set to prohibit Bitcoin possession, but how are they going to enforce such a law? People will continue to use it secretly. Today, when the world has become a tight place, such laws are nor very implementable overall, and that seems to be the main reason why most governments abstain from outright banning Bitcoin. Even communist China is set to drive Bitcoin down by indirect or even underhanded ways and approaches (but it still doesn't work)

The bitcoin can be regulated, but not outlawed.

I'm not sure that Bitcoin will replace fiat. I do not see any sense in it. Bitcoin has already taken its place in the economy and in the life of users. Why do we need to Bitcoin replaced the dollar

Even though the bitcoin will not replace all the fiat, it will be the number one currency.

No, Bitcoin will not replace Dollars. Bitcoin only will be a secondary payment option since most of people in the world even dont know to operate a computer in developing countries.

Bitcoin has already replaced dollar in the deal of world’s most expensive pizaa so there are many bitcoin users who prefer bitcoin over dollar or other fiat currencies but I don’t think bitcoin will vanish the dollar or any other fiat currency. On individual level, bitcoin has already replaced our fiat currencies (at least online).

Nowadays, 1 bitcoin can buy you 100 pizza. So the bitcoin has risen 1 million time.s

Probably bitcoin will never replace dollar, IMO at most it will become widely used, similar to euro in Europe.
Sometime i also think that bitcoin will never replace dollar because bitcoin just a crypto currency and there is no physical shape of bitcoin and Dollar have physical shape and Dollar is accept in everywhere for online and for direct shopping and currency we can buy every think from online with bitcoin nowadays .
You are right with what you see, it can never happen, bitcoin cannot replace dollar soon and in the near future. It will still be an alternative currency without a value if without fiat, so basically it relies on fiat.

yeah i think so too. and i agree that in the future, though it won't replace the dollar or any other currency, it will be a very god alternative to make online purchases much like how credit cards are being used now. let's face it, bitcoin has a lot of benefits to provide if more and more people are using it. but we still need real money for our everyday purchases and i don't think bitcoin would be able to cover for the that anytime soon.

I know somebody use the bitcoin quite a lot.

Certainly, for sure it can or it will be used widely in the world after a few years, though it is already used worldwide but it will get more popular with time but as you said it wont be able to replace a currency like dollar which is used in a large extent in the world.
Bitcoin is just a good alternative payment and bitcoin is less hassle than the other payment proccessor..
dollar is our main money and it is impossible that bitcoin will replace bitcoin. how about if we have mo internet so bitcoin is useless and usd will be still need to use..

The confirmation time is too long.
