Re: Bitcoin vs Ethereum
by
ItsEzMkay
on 12/12/2021, 09:13:59 UTC
Quite simple, they do different things so they really aren't comparable at the moment. If Ethereum ever becomes a store of value, then we can talk (it is going to be deflationary soon so maybe), and if Bitcoin can ever have smart contract capabilities like Ethereum then we can see then too. Until then, it is a moo point as Joey would say.

Hard to time the markets buddy. So can't say exact when to, but any dip would be good. It was near its old ATH in satoshi value, them came down from there. I think it would be a good buy now, I don't expect that old ATH value to hold long and it will slice through it.

Re: Buying BTC anonymously
by

If I wanted to accumulate some BTC anonymously and just hold it
would this work?

Buy XMR on a KYC exchange.
Withdraw it to a Monero wallet connected by TOR or VPN
Transfer to a second Monero wallet connected by TOR or VPN
Send XMR to a non KYC exchange and buy BTC
Withdraw to BTC wallet connected by TOR

Any corrections, suggestions, or better ideas?
Yes. Find somebody with Bitcoin in real life. Offer to pay them cash for it. Done deal basically. Or you could find somebody on peer to peer. I believe that website is still up and going. Lastly, you could facilitate a deal on here. More risky, but somebody will probably send you funds if you e-transfer them.

Re: What is the single worst piece of advice you ever received relative to Bitcoin?

To hodl. Jk, that would be the best. The worst would be that going all in on Bitcoin with credit cards. I thought that was a bit extreme. I'm all for some extreme and borrowing small sums of money from people you can trust and pay back slowly, but I wouldn't freaking max out any credit cards or line of credits. That is a bit much.

And this recently happened to when Bitcoin dumped. Call it a divergence of sorts. I think that showed me that Ethereum isn't going to dump heavily against Bitcoin anymore and has matured. Time will tell, but as each day passes I think the flippening is more and more possible.

I like Zil, Bat, and Matic on that list. Zil should do well soon here, considering XCAD network is on their network. XCAD is gonna be huge success, should put Zil on the map after that. Bat also just introduced a native wallet to their browser, which is pretty awesome. Matic is keeping the ball rolling on their solutions and now offering a privacy solution with zks, as well as rollups. It's gonna be good.

Re: The Danger of Local Economy.
by

According to Economic Confidential blog " IMF says, Crypto Assets May Displace Local Currencies in Developing Countries". Source: Economic Confidential, Facebook page..

Bitcoin is taking over the internet for online transaction, therefore, most of  the local currencies in the developing Nations are affected.. because developing Nations are not inclined in the e-currency transaction while the new generation youths use the e-currency for transactions. That making the local currency weak.

Can Bitcoin really weaken the Local Currencies in the Developing Nations?
I don't think it would weaken them. I believe it would usurp them, in a good way though even that word means not. And that would probably be a net positive for that state. They wouldn't have as high as inflation rate, and could save money on transfer fees. Be borderless. Be decentralized. The list goes on and on. El Salvador will tell us a lot, and I believe it will be positive for sure.

Ethereum is the only longterm hold I would suggest. Bitcoin is obvious too. Other than that, I wouldn't have any other long term holds in my portfolio. I would wait it out and see which ones are gonna make it out. A few obvious ones like BNB, and Solana probably will but how many others?

Re: 3 Arrows Capital is dumping Ethereum?
by

on 12/12/2021, 08:59:03 UTC
Two weeks after CEO Su Zhu criticized ethereum for high fees 3 Arrows Capital bought 91,477 ETH worth about $400 million on the fall of the market, during this time the company bought about 156,400 ETH.

I have just discovered the news hehe. It appears there are many people who follow him in social media who were not shocked with this news update. Su Zhu has done this scam many times in the past where he will declare something and do the opposite.

It appears that this is a face we cannot trust hehehe.

I wouldn't even say that. If you are foolish enough to fall out of your conviction because man says so on internet, then you deserve to be shaken out. Weak hands in my opinion. Meant to be shaken out. Strong hands only please.

Polygon is always a good option. Ethereum isn't bad either. But Solana I think will do the best out of the three heading into the next surge. I also think Luna is worth a bet. It retraced recently, and is on a dip. Get it while you can!

I read somewhere that 80% of Bitcoin hodlers have never sold a Bitcoin. That is a pretty neat stat if you ask me. I would have thought that number was closer to 50%. And yes, weak hands simply do not deserve Bitcoin. Only strong hands please lol.

Re: Is it the right time to invest in cryptocurrencies?
by
ItsEzMkay
on 12/12/2021, 08:53:51 UTC

The economic pains of Covid-19 experienced in 2020 are experienced in many countries. Many countries are going through hard times economically and will. In these periods, salvation will of course be profitable investment planning. When I look at the crypto market for this period, the general comments are in the direction of BNB investment advice.

Do you think it makes sense to invest in BNB or another cryptocurrency?

What else can you suggest in line with the analyzes made on the subject?

I think BNB is quite a great investment right now. For one, the transactions are at all time highs or near them everyday. Second, BNB made an update recently which burns BNB. That is ultra bullish. Third, most people are gambling all over the place which coins, and they need BNB to start. Seems like it should perform well, whenever Bitcoin starts picking that is hahah Grin

coinmarketcap or coingecko what you prefer or and why?
do you use other sites? why
I prefer coingecko a heck of a lot more, and that is because it is easier for me to see the BTC pricing. I have a tough time with that on CMC, maybe I just don't know where to look up. Also the BTC value is located under the asset which CMC doesn't have, I know this for sure. Also seems like a cleaner nicer GUI to me.

Perhaps, but that may only be in half the countries in the world where the standard of living is quite low. Most countries that won't work. Even if Bitcoin gets to $10M a coin. Because most houses will have severely gone up by then too. In the last 25 years prices have 4-5xed where I live. It is getting nuts out there.

Re: Does Bitcoin have any real value?

Bitcoin is not backed by any physical asset like Gold nor by any fiat currency. It makes me wonder if I should invest/trade in Bitcoin or not?

Objection, irrelevant. It doesn't matter my friend. The dollars we have today aren't backed by anything either. Oh wait, they are backed by the same thing and that thing is trust. So in essence it is backed. But not the way we want it to be. But yes, you should trade it to answer your question.

I agree with the premise, but I disagree with the only having to have Bitcoin as your knowledge increases. I think it mainly depends on the size of your bankroll to be honest. The more money you have I believe the higher Bitcoin allocation you should have. But if you have $500, it may make sense to have none at all.

Re: Bitcoin main use case now
by
ItsEzMkay
on 12/12/2021, 08:46:48 UTC
While technically you are correct that Bitcoin moves that market and is the king. You are wrong on your assumption that Bitcoin's only functionality is that. It is also a store of value, medium of exchange, and soon to be unit of account. We will one day I believe, be looking at a t-shirt and it will be 15000 sats because looking at 0.0000150000 is very unpleasant. Another use case would be to transfer funds. Currently, Strike is using the Bitcoin network to settle transfers that go across borders and for less than a fraction of a penny. Its ridiculous, and quite frankly you're notion here was ridiculous. I bid you adieu Good day to you sir. I said good day!

Re: The Role of BTC in the metaverse?
by
ItsEzMkay
on 05/12/2021, 11:42:51 UTC
I have been thinking about this for sometimes.

If the metaverse becomes a reality, what will be the significant roles of crypto in its economy?

If crypto such as bitcoin, Mana, Sand are used as means of transaction in the metaverse what will be the reaction of the government?

Although it is true these metaverse coins will have their own ecosystem of sorts, where do you think the funding comes from? They will have to buy either Ether or Bitcoin first, then transfer that to that native token. I know USD and USDT are on ramps as well, but USDT is Bitcoin converted aka still Bitcoin and we don't know where that USD came from either. Point I'm trying to make here is that Bitcoin plays as the reserve currency in the economy, ergo it will always have a role.
