Hi all. Just wanted to chime in and make a quick two part announcement about TrumpCoin and my involvement in it.
For starters; I am currently no longer part of the TrumpCoin development team in any capacity after this post and have stepped down as treasurer of the project indefinitely. From this point forward I will be returning to my original "role" as simply a fan/investor and will no longer be privy to an inside information. My original plan was to only be treasurer on an interim basis, in what I felt was a time of need for the project. During my stint as treasurer and "SEO guy" - I took zero salary, received no donations and spent my own fiat on any promotion I did for the coin - I hope this reputation will follow me in the cryptocurrency community going forward, as that is what I love about crypto most; the community.
That being said...
I will gladly monopolize the attention and add that, the reason I am stepping down is to:
a) focus on my own little crypto endeavors :^)
and
b) because I am being replaced by someone infinitely more qualified who will be able to take this project to lengths we originally only dreamt were possible.
With this person in the chair, I feel like media attention is almost a guarantee! It's going to be an exciting next 60 days, I honestly can't wait!
I'll let someone from the official dev team fill you in on all the particulars, but let's just say the new treasurer has done this SPECIFIC task before and is professionally someone that "you better call"- hint hint.
I'd like to thank everyone who sent me an email or a PM recently, showing support or just looking to chat; please feel free to continue doing so!

Aside from all this bickering going on any post using a bigger font than the default font should be flat out removed, that counts for both AtheismHasNoReligion and Seige. I'd like to keep this thread clean and you two are certainly not helping at all.

I'd rather have it unmoderated but..... Any conversation that gets deleted here will move to /Biz. I think constant /Biz presence drives most of our adoption. Moderation may keep us bumped to the front page.
It's mostly just shitposting that'll get blasted off the thread so no worries.

There are a few smear campaigns against us that love disrupting and derailing our conversations.
We need to focus, but Freedom of Speech is certainly one of our values...

IMO it should be moderated to a certain extent. I don't mind people being critical of trumpcoin at all and they have the right to voice their opinions here. But at a certain point it stops being criticism and it starts turning in to downright trolling, there's no discussion to be had there. Sometimes it's hard to draw the line between voicing opinions and trolling but often it isn't (e.g. seige his shitposting).
Then there's also annoying posts that use bold and have a massive font for example, I see no need for those so a bit of moderation wouldn't hurt in those cases either.
This is my opinion as well. Moderate moderation with a ruleset that only removes blatant trolling and personal attacks against individuals, while still allowing anyone to voice valid opinions and concerns about our mission and our politics.
I like the way you put it... Filter shitposting while allowing and encouraging productive debates.

At this point I'd rather see Signal hold on to the trumpfund because he's already earned our trust. The only reason we were looking for a treasurer (IIRC) was due to trust issues but I personally believe these issues have been resolved. If Signal holds on to the trumpfund we don't need to vote for a treasurer and then we don't need to take another "gamble" with trusting someone else to take care of the trumpfund.

Perhaps later on we can select someone else as the project could gain exposure and other people can hop on board. But for now, Signal can hold it and we can hit the ground running for the RNC this week.

Is this something that needs to be resolved in the short term though? At this point I feel as if I know too little about the potential treasurers to make a proper decision.
Seeing as it is critical I'd rather not see us rush such a thing without proper background knowledge of the nominees (e.g. why do the nominees think they would make a good treasurer? What is their motivation etc.)
I'd suggest every nominee doing atleast a very basic open application so that we atleast have some information on the nominees to work with aside from forum posts.

Interesting. That's a lot of speculation, one could hope it wouldn't affect the price by much, but, how much of a donation are we talking about here? What is this donation based on? and, how much of a heads up will we get before the donation is being made?
ok so maybe I should clear up some facts about what we can and cannot do legally.
Let's start with the can nots:
1. We cannot contribute more than $2700 from a single entity directly to Donald Trump's official campaign.
2. If we register as a Super PAC, we can NOT...
a. contribute even one penny directly to him or his official campaign.
b. communicate with him in any way, shape or form during the elections.
c. expect any endorsements or acknowledgements from him during the elections.
Things we CAN do:
1. Encourage anyone not directly affiliated with the Super PAC to donate up to the $2700 maximum to Donald Trump's official campaign.
2. Combine our talents, resources, and finances to indirectly support Donald Trump for President with media and grassroots campaign efforts.
3. Solicit unlimited donations to our PAC in order to help us towards our goals.
4. Buy commercials, billboards, and advertising of any kind to promote Trump for President and/or the TrumpCoin initiatives.
Why are these points important?
Because folks seem to believe that we are going to be allowed to pump the coin value up to around $5 and just give Trump a million bucks.
No. That's illegal. He cannot accept it.
I do not feel like it is sensible for a prominent public person to just sit on the funds for us (they will be constantly having to manage and document movements). I do not feel like it is sensible to lock the fund into any escrow or other long term commitment. I feel like the fund should be handled by an internal official treasury like any other PAC with publicly available ledgers and accountability and put to good use to help fund our agenda(s). yes, I am drafting a plan.
All that said, we have yet to decide definitively the true scope of our official agenda, which should be our very next step after establishing some sort of organized leadership.
Once we have more thoroughly discussed the pros and cons of Super PAC vs. donation fund, we will be able to finally commit to a direction and make a responsible decision as to how the fund should be stored, used, protected, etc.

Thank you, that's really helpful. Interesting, it almost sounds like Signal7 is taking the coin in the direction of forming a superpac, that's really interesting to me. I don't know enough about superpacs and that whole aspect of the political system, but that definitely perks my interest.
We've got more in the pipeline, so here's a TLDR roadmap for the short term.
Also, there's are always uncertainties when trying to get these kind of things done so take it with a grain of salt.
Anyway these are the biggest "features" in the works right now IMO but there's also a couple of side projects like trumpcoin t-shirts and the trumpcoin book etc.
- Electing a treasurer to hold the trumpfund
- Revamp of trumpcoin.com website and making it the main website (.rocks will redirect)
- Setting up a super PAC for trumpcoin
- Payment system that'll allow people to buy trumpcoin with usd through an exchange with simple KYC procedure

You're doing a good job warning the public not to believe the FUD you're spreading.
Many of the issues you had with trumpcoin are either resolved or being resolved because people actually want to legitimize this coin.
You can see the steps taken or being taken in this very thread. We're working hard towards the goal of making trumpcoin a great coin.
Constantly spouting the same nonsense over and over again isn't going to make us try any less hard in fact it's going to make us try even harder.
So please Seige get the hell out of here already, or just buy some trumpcoin before you miss out (AGAIN).
