The Validity Blockchain Explorer https://chainz.cryptoid.info/val is showing incorrect VAL balance for (at least) my wallet (the wallet shows more coins). Is it possible to reach out to them and have fixed this issue?

What is the address? Feel free to send me PM

Hello!

Please update to v13.1.3

Previous 13.x.x versions have a fee calculation bug that can cause your wallet to fork.

Thanks!

Re: [RADS] Radium - Decentralized Identities, Custom Assets, Elections, and More!

Hello everyone!
Today is Aug 10, 2020

I have been away from BCT for far too long.  Recently I have spent most of my time in the telegram and discord channels, but I wanted to take a few moments and say hi to everyone here as well!

Today we just released an update to the RadiumXT wallet. The core of the update is a new staking rewards tracker, that shows your estimated rewards, and real rewards over the past day, week, month, and year. Please let me know if you find it useful!

Earlier today, we had a small fork on the network.  It was related to how the RadiumXT wallet (13.1.0) dealt with header spam. The new wallet was being overly strict, and banned most of the older 1.5 clients, causing network segregation leading to the fork.

The fork was noticed and brought to my attention within about 2 hours, at which time I turned off the header spam protection on our seed and syncing nodes.  These 8 nodes were then able to act as a bridge between the two separate sections of the network. After some time, the wallets on the incorrect fork were able to download the blocks of the real fork, and then reorganized back to the correct chain.  In order to prevent the issue, we have disabled header spam protection in the 13.1.2 client by default, as well as tweaked some of the other banning related parameters.  There are no changes to the chain consensus rules, but rather small changes in the way the wallets talk to one another.

During this process we were in contact with our various exchange partners, who have also confirmed the network has stabilized. They have also confirmed there were no adverse effects of the fork, and all operations will continue as normal.

Much of my focus the past months has been learning about the .13 codebase that the new wallet uses. I want to say special thanks to the Blackcoin for their willingness to collaborate on several issues affecting both of our wallets. We were able to work together to fix a memory leak issue related to our shared staking implementation.

Now that our network is stable and our wallet is significantly improved, I plan to shift focus back to the 2nd layer, SmartChain.  SmartChain is what differentiates Radium from the many other coins that exist, and I have neglected its development for far too long.  My first goal is to release a SmartChain that can run locally, allowing independence from the online web version.

Please reach out with any questions or comments.
Be safe and wash your hands!

Any real developments going on , or is a gui for a hardwarestaker all you got ?
Thought the dev finished his PHD and is ready for some developments now.
 Grin
Is the development of RADS not the original team now? They used to work hard when I traded RADS at poloniex.

It is still most of the original team, with a few new people!  Here is the current team page. https://radiumcore.org/team/

@SteamboatG  So are you from Radium team? I can imagine that MN could support distributed Zero Client interface Smiley

After working with these passionate and talented people for more than 6 months now, I think it's ok for me to say that I'm a member of the team indeed.  I tend to look at the bigger picture and help develop strategies regarding Radium's growth potential and the health of the project in general.

On that subject I might add that we're efficient and pretty bear market resilient by now and the project is in good shape.  We're here to stay.

I consider SteamboatG a member of the team!

And from the Bittrex exchange it is impossible to withdraw less than 1 coin, at least 14, for example, to register an account here:
http://smartchain.radiumcore.org

You don't need to transfer any RADS to the Zero Client yet. During our beta testing, all Zero Client operations are free to use. Smiley

And by the way, I sent the coins to BTCPop.
For the month, 1 coin was mined  Undecided

Depends on how many coins you sent them. Staking locally, 1000 RADS will yield approx 1 reward per 24hr period.

Yes, this is understandable, but the profile is still not created!

Oh, exchanges that provide free listings have become hardly to find recent months in such a very greedy crypto ecosystem.
Most of exchanges (that I known) provide free listings turned to scam exit weeks or months later.
I wish that the Amsterdex will be not, and believe it will.

I will make a suggestion to the team of my favorite project to ask them send listing request to Amsterdex team.
Thanks, fella.

I've been around since 2014.. I started in crypto with a takeover coin.. Swapped the takeover and took the entire community with me.. Now rebranded to Amsterdex.. We're not going anywhere..  Cool

In fact, I've been working on this for a very long time, we're just getting started! And since I have a history with Radium, this coin had to be on my own platform.. Radium was the first coin that ordered my blockexplorer service years ago when this was still xradon.. Smiley
Im very happy Banzai is still around, and to be part of your platform!  Long live the OG's Cheesy

Hello.
I am a bit curious about your signature.
Where did you get it?
Is it a self-made signature or official one from Radium team?
thanks.

It was made by a community member a while ago Cheesy.

Hi everyone!

Just a few things!

1) Im alive, and not dead! I am most active on telegram, https://t.me/RadiumOfficial so even if I am not posting often here, I am online most of the time there.

2) Alpha web interface is up and being tested! Hopefully We will be able to move it to a production server in the next few days.

3) We have successfully spend from the development fund, and have appropriately compensated one of the developers who build the original code for the development fund fork.

I want to extend a huge thanks to all the people helping run the project and are handling administrative jobs to I can code. Without you guys, we wouldn't be where we are today.

Chears!

You were missing 500 of your 1000 RADS? That doesn't make sense unless your wallet.dat file is corrupt, which again is highly unlikely. If it is able to read the wallet at all to see your 500, it should have no issue pulling other addresses...

Can you take a screenshot of you running 1.4.7 and then 1.5.1, of course not simultaneously? Thank you.

For anyone needing a bootstrap or having issues syncing, I updated the bootstrap utility.  It will download the latest bootstrap.dat and place it in the appdata/radium folder

Would be nice to get them back to .50. Futures contracts end soon. Any thoughts on how this will influence the markets or are we destined to go down.
The fork that is in testing will bring the rewards back up to 0.5, with a much slower reduction over the next 20 years.  No idea of how this will affect the markets. I decided to write code, because I loose every time I try and trade Cheesy

Can not open new website.. DNS does not resolve radiumcore.org

Is it working yet? It may have taken longer than usual for the DNS to update in your area. If it is still not working, try to flush your DNS cashe, and then let us know if its still broken.

Here is a quick update on where we are with the Radium project.

Abstract / TL:DR
Our work for memorandum is done, the lawyers are now working on writing it. New Website and White Paper should be released in the next week. Development fund fork code is complete, needs testing by development team. SmartChain React interface on hold due to work required for above projects.

Legal SEC Memorandum
Our work to obtain the legal memorandum required to remain on Bittrex is nearly complete.  JJ12880 has personally funded the 15k USD needed to pay for the memorandum, with the understanding that he will be reimbursed with Radium once the development fund becomes active. The payment has been sent, and the lawyers are working their review of the project and writing the memorandum.

Website
In order to present the lawyers with accurate information to produce the Memorandum, we have developed a new website that will hold the content of both the current website and the wiki. This will allow Radium to keep all information, documentation, and blog together in one place. This website will support multiple user accounts and contributors, so we can do a much better job of keeping the information current and up to date. We have also included a team section, so you can see all of our pretty faces. We hope to launch the website in the next week.

White Paper
In addition to the website, we needed to write a White Paper in order to complete the memorandum. The White Paper is complete, and will be released at the same time as the new website. The white paper explains the goal, purpose, and functions of the Radium system.

Development fund fork
The code for the development fund fork is complete, and JJ12880 and other team members will be testing it this week. More information regarding the date for the fork will be provided once testing is complete. We will allow a 4 week period from the release of the code for all nodes to update, ensuring that all exchanges have plenty of time to complete updates from their end.

SmartChain React Interface
Work on the react interface has slowed due to the time being dedicated to the legal memorandum and the development fund fork. Once the code for the development fork is completed, focus will shift back to development of this interface and new SmartChain functions.

All the best,
The Radium development team.

Hi everyone!

I know everyone wants news about the fork.

TLDR: The fork has taken second priority to obtaining legal counsel to write a memorandum demonstrating that Radium is NOT a security, in order to remain listed on some exchanges.

Several weeks ago, one of the major exchanges which we are listed on, asked us to go through a review process, due to the increased scrutiny of the SEC (Investment regulatory body in the USA). It seems that completion of this review process is a requirement to remain listed on this exchange. Given the current regulatory landscape, several exchanges are protecting themselves from possible litigation by not listing tokens that fall under the category of a security. To this end, a significant part of the review we were asked to complete included a lengthy legal memorandum arguing the case that Radium is not a security as defined by various legal precedents.  Unfortunately, none of us on the development team are security and investment lawyers, and we have needed to engage with an outside legal team to complete this memorandum.  In order for our legal advisers to complete their review and write the memorandum, we need to be able to provide them with a clear and concise explanation of what Radium is.  Much of my energy the past week and a half has been devoted to writing the Radium white paper, as well as writing all new content for the website so the lawyers have something to work from.  Much of our existing content is outdated, and some is no longer accurate. I hope to have the website content and the white paper ready to send to the legal team by the end of next week.

In addition to preparing the materials mentioned above, we have been working very hard to secure the necessary funding to pay for this memorandum. Lawyers cost money. A LOT of money. Especially when we do not have a ICO budget to work from. We have some donation funds that were set aside, that will cover part of the cost, however the rest will have to come from other private sources. We will be using some of our own personal funds to cover the remainder of the costs, as the development fund will not be operational until after the fork.

I wish I could be working on the code for the fork. I want nothing more than to get this fork over with, and get back to coding what I really enjoy, which is SmartChain functions. Sadly, it seems we need to get a few more things taken care of first.  As soon as this memorandum is funded, written, and submitted, all focus will be back on the fork.

I think we need an update on the tax situation. It would help... Having an idea of the future would give a clearer picture. Maybe we can work on more exchanges too. Decentralized...
I think decentralized exchanges are an excellent idea. I would like to see rads on one if not more.

As far as the tax issue goes, it seems nobody really knows the correct way to do this, as nobody knows how the tax laws are going to be applied.  It is causing quite the challenge.

Tax law concerns? It is funny. RADS is not a money. They are tradeable token and nothing guaranties they preserve market value. It may even dropped to zero. Just pay tax from conversion to fiat on common basement.

In the US all RADS rewards are considered income (for the typical holder anyway), and any sales capital gains/losses. This is the way I reported it on my tax returns.
yes, that is the correct way to do it, from what I understand for US tax laws. The current tax situation is terrible, and needs to be clarified fast.
