Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling - Cheaper fees

EDA is a threat not only to bitcoin, but also bitcoin cash itself. what cryptocurrency creates financial incentive for miners not to mine lol is this proof of not work currency
I'd like to hear Roger Vers opinion on eda. I heard him saying he has some concerns over eda.
and its not an eda as in adjustment anyway, there is no emergency diff increase to save bch from inflation, only emergency diff reduction
maybe if bch ever gets decentralized enough to stop eda abuse it will stop. maybe

I honestly cannot tell if it was designed to work this way or just a huge glaring oversight due to being rushed and no testing

When you are dealing with billions of dollars worth of people's money you cannot afford for there to be ANY problems core may get some flak for slower releases but at least I can be confident any changes are tested 110% that it's faultless in its intended use and that it has also been rigorously tested in ways it wasn't supposed to be used because in a decentralised network once a crippling bug is discovered it may be impossible to remove without hard forking and core understand this
That you cannot tell is, telling.  Grin

I have no doubt this is working as intended, to suggest otherwise means they are just really lucky, I think not.

Here tek goes again with the EDA FUDing. The truth is that diff adjustments in BTC are fatally flawed. The Segwit coin is susceptible to a coin death spiral, which occurs if mining power decreases rapidly for some reason (like, say, China raiding and shutting down mining facilities... just sayin'). If diff doesn't adjust soon enough, as a result there can be no blocks mined for up to a month. This means no transactions can happen and the coin value drops off a cliff. This hasn't happened, but it could.

BCH tries to mitigate this problem by having emergency diff adjustments if hashpower really drops. Obviously the BCH coin has more hashpower than anticipated, so prices and mining are up and down a bit. Nonetheless, BCH is NOT susceptible to the death spiral phenomenon.

As far as "gaming the system", that's what miners do at all times with every coin - that's their economic incentive, and they would be foolish not to! Even if the coinbase issuance is not completely linear, what is the consequence?

Until this coin stabilizes the difficulty/hash/price parameters, it will remain nonviable. The constant triggering of EDA will prevent it from being competitive with BTC.

Re: [ANN] leonArdo - Bitcoin Trading Bot for Poloniex, Bittrex, Bitstamp, Bitfinex..

Hi leonArdo community!

I've just started the demo version and have already decided to buy based on reading many, many accolades here and witnessing the outstanding support provided by Dr. Jonathan Maycock and his team. It seems to me that leonArdo is a platform going places I want go.

I'm in the US and have some experience trading. During the dotCom bubble I traded a black box app called Indigo for two years. more recently I was a day trader for a year. I'm a hardware geek so I've mined Bitcoin and now Ether. My initial experience with the demo version is positive and, as usual, there are questions but for now only:

1. My goals are to trade in pairs with no fiat currency such as ETH/BTC, LTC/BTC, etc., and it might be handy to have a margin account at some point but I'm aware that Bitfinex does not extend margin to US residents. Is there an exchange currently supported by leonArdo that will make me happy?

Looking forward to live trading and being a part of this community.

Have a look at Poloniex, they are US based and support margin trading.  They've been going through some growing pains of late and performance has been choppy but they may
satisfy your requirements.

regards,
jj

I am getting error when trying to install. This application failed to start because it could not find or load the Qt platform plugin "windows".

Can you provide us with more information? Are you on linux?

Using windows 7, tried to reinstall leoNardo, but didn't help

I'm having the same problem and getting the same error message.

I'm using win7 64 bit...

Temporary Fix for Windows Users

Hi JJyarr,

We found the issue. It has to do with a new script we created to build the leonArdo exe. We are working on a proper fix, but in the meantime you can do the following:

* go to C:\Program Files (x86)\mArgin-leonArdo
* create a directory named "platforms"
* move qwindows.dll to "platforms"
(allow moving this file as administrator)
-> leonArdo works as expected!

Let me know if that helps.

Once we fix it properly we will update the version on the website and you can download it.

Best wishes,
Jonathan

That fixes my problem Jonathan, new version is up and running. Thanks!

regards,
jj

Some nice new features including key encryption Smiley

Having a problem using Polo's trusted IP feature for the API. leonArdo doesn't seem to agree with the IP Polo is seeing. I've tried adding the local IP to the list but no luck.
Am I missing something here?

EDIT: Ok, got it, my bad Smiley

After seeing how well the indicators were implemented, it will be interesting to see what you come up with here...

Just a little FYI.  altpool.ninja is not paying out.  or maybe it's just me.
Pool has paid out fine for me since I've been on. Front end can be slow to update and that might be what you're running into. Give it some time and I think you will find it's working fine. I will
watch for my next payout and see what's up...

Any chance Quadrigacx gets added in the future?

Every chance, but up first are bittrex, C-Cex and Kraken...
Sounds good, looking forward to the updates...

hello and thank you. when does sale end? Who is holding escrow? thanks

There was talk about me being an escrow, but I am letting everyone know that I am not the escrow. Please educate yourself about this ICO, as it is a self moderated thread and posts may be deleted as the OP wishes. This post will probably be deleted soon, as were my others.

Good to know, thanks....

For AMD cards, use Catalyst 14.4 ( also try it to run with --difficulty-multiplier)  the cpu miner  can be found on vertcoin topic.. for me everything works fine ( amd card + cpu miner)
Tried 14.4 drivers, no go on my 280x. What arg do you pass to --difficulty-multiplier?

I have the same problem since yesterday.
Are you using a 280x? I think the miners are having a problem with this particular card.

I think its a pool difficulty multiplier issue with lyra2re2. I'm still getting shares on nicehash and my cpu, so I'm going to leave it for now instead of taking down the pool.
I don't think it's the pool, I seem to be the only miner having problems. Could be a driver issue on my end and I will look at that next. If I figure it out I will let
you know...

I'm getting a lot of low difficulty share rejects. Any idea how to fix this?

What stratum url and port are you using?

nl.exapool.com and I've tried ports 5332,5334,5336,5338...Pool accepts roughly a third of the shares and rejects the rest

Use 5333 for now, its set to diff 0.2-2.
Ok will give it a try. Just going through the sgminer thread to see if I'm messing something up.
