If you're a miner, I think you welcome Ordinals. Bitcoin Ordinals
have weakened the Ethereum NFT market. And, I think as Bitcoin
ages, it will have an opportunity to attract new community members.
I think this is one of currently one of them. It's better to try out new
things, especially if people like them.

Brc-20 by Domo
by
JW9494
on 25/03/2023, 23:17:26 UTC
⭐ Merited by BenCodie (1)
Here is a partial excerpt from Brc-20s, by Domo, that are currently being deployed and being
minted, using Ordinals. I would like to hear your opinions on this experiment, and if possible,
discuss how you think this could be improved.

I know many people that have been in the Bitcoin
Community for some time, disagree with Ordinals, and think it is a waste. And I'm not here to
debate that. I do think that Bitcoin Ordinals have rendered Ethereum NFT volume, to very low levels.
--________---________--________--

BRC-20s: An Experiment by Domo
https://archive.is/97bbe

Experiment to see if ordinal theory can facilitate fungibility on bitcoin
•Create a brc-20 with the deploy function
•Mint an amount of brc-20's with the mint function
•Transfer an amount of brc-20's with the transfer function.
brc-20 balance state can be found by aggregating all of these function's activity together.

Front end
A very rudimentary front end for tracking balances has been created below.

Some notes:
•The front end should not be trusted, it's intention is only as a illustration of whats possible
•It will not track balances if you do not follow the formatting and instructions exactly (including fee matching). Even if you do it will likely be wrong for transfers.
•A front end that has access to taproot / ordinal indexed data is required for perfect state balancing

###How to
####Getting a balance

You can either deploy your own or mint from existing deployments bitcoin punks style
1.(Optional: Only do if you want to create your own brc-20. If not go to step 2) Inscribe the deploy function to you ordinal compatible wallet with the desired brc-20 parameters set

2.Inscribe the mint function to your ordinal compatible wallet. Make sure the ticker matches either a) the brc-20 you deployed in step 1, or b) any brc-20 that has yet to reach its fully diluted supply. Also if the brc-20 has a mint limit, make sure not to surpass this.Careful if using inscription service. Some tools mint to themselves first then send (thus the minter keeps the balance)

####Transferring a balance
1.Inscribe the transfer function to your ordinal compatible wallet. Make sure sending amount does not exceed your current balance. Careful if using inscription service. Some tools mint to themselves first then send (thus the minter keeps the balance)

2.Once received, send the inscription to the desired destination

Notes
•Each transfer inscription can only be used once
•The first deployment of a ticker is the only one that has claim to the ticker.
•In the event of two balance changing events happening within the same block the one with the higher fee is prioritized
•Minting transfer inscription to yourself first is necessary to avoid others spending your balance
•For public brc-20 mints the bitcoin punks / .sats names 'first is first' approach is adopted
•The "to" and "fee" fields in the transfer function are not required, but were necessary for the testing front end to track
•The mint function and the second step of the transfer function are the only events that cause changes in balances

Please name 5 new relevant Bitcoin codebase projects. Newer, at least.

Smiley
There are no restrictions in place where someone couldn't create an announcement thread or update an existing one informing the altcoins community about the launch of a new project or important changes made to any existing network. There is no reason to introduce new tools. Most Bitcoiners don't care for Ethereum updates and those who do can find anything they need in different ways.

I agree. At least for me, a $1k investment is not something that I'll miss, if I doesn't work out. But if it does work out, like it did for me in this case, then great.

We'll see... but from a risk reward perspective it's risk free at the expense of time.
But most people go to altcoins because they want to get rich quick which only pans out for a very select few...

Sure there are 2k other alts with a lower market cap. I look at use case, codebase, supply & other metrics. I do not buy anything below cmc 1000, by market cap.

And, I pick 3-5 low cap coins in a cycle, with good entries. I put $1k into each one & I let it ride. I got into this one a few years ago. And, I like the project.

If you disagree with me & think it isn't a good coin to buy, that's fine. We're all entitled to our own opinions.

Have you heard of a trading strategy, that is based on getting into a coin at a lower market cap. $EPIC market cap is a little shy of $12m.

"bc of reasons not a chart" Name few. Why this coin is better than 20k that already exist.

Creating tools to populate /ANNS/ with current projects
by

Ethereum codebase projects stopped using BitcoinTalk
/ANNS/, and opt for stealth launches and Medium launch announcements.

Could Bitcointalk create a tool to find projects that launch as close to their launch, as possible, and post it somewhere in the forum?

If you're not interested in it and you think it is a poor investment, that's fine. Like I said, I am sitting in profit, bc of reasons not a chart. Can you say that you hit a 50x+? If so, good. But people reading this should recognize that there are some people that criticize what others speculate on, but are there showing their trades and their wallet? No. Use your own judgement.

And, another positive is that it is only on two exchanges, Bitmart and Vite Dex.

2 exchanges with close to zero zero traffic.

When the network mining activity increases substantially, the price increases, occur.

It is the other way around. Price pump makes mining more profitable makes mines increase mining gear. Not the opposite.

You're entitled to your own opinion. Epic has done a 50x, over last 2 years

And now its dead listed on 2 dead exchanges with close to 0 real volume. If you want to promote this coin. Tell me whats its advantage over 20 000 other projects other than being right after low volume pump and dump event.

Epic Cash is around $1 right now. And it hit $6+ maybe 6 months ago.

When the network mining activity increases substantially, the price increases, occur.

And, another positive is that it is only on two exchanges, Bitmart and Vite Dex.

I know that some people might write this coin off. But if you're a smart trader with some experience, you'll know that small fortunes can be made in projects like this.

Re: Why new projects/ coins do not have ANN on bitcointalk ?
by
JW9494
on 23/03/2021, 09:20:15 UTC
I noticed this also, starting with YFI.
And I think there's one major reason a
BitcointalkANN is not the standard anymore.
It's because 98 percent of new projects are
on Ethereum. And most of those devs are
Ethereum maxis, so you can't force them to
write a Bitcointalk ANN.

I do not see it as a fair launch for a few reasons.
Twitter and medium are algo based news feeds.
What one person sees on their home page is not
what another person sees. And Medium is a
paywalled site, which makes no sense for Ethereum
projects, because they promote decentralization.

No feedback?

Synthetix SNX, did more than a 2x, in 10 days.

Yeah, 0.000094 btc to a 10 day high of 0.00022 btc.
That is a 2.4x

I'm definitely not here to brag, because I know there are so many more skilled individuals, than I, in this space. But each time I've posted good information in Speculation just to help others, and it does play out, nobody says anything. When I'm wrong or someone thinks I'm wrong, they're quick to speak on it.
