Re: Way to get round the 5 post limit...

Just a quick thought for newbie probation is to allow a new user to post 1 time per day in any thread, or in a certain section of threads. If that "newbie" is quoted within the thread they are allowed to continue the conversation with another post, because they obviously have posted something interesting.

After a certain amount of time, or quoted posts, it shows that they have something to contribute to the forum and can become a true member.

I'm generally a rare poster, so this 5 post limit is killer for me because I would much rather post something of quality but I find myself randomly running to posts and posting anything I can think of. Just my 2 cents, but 5 posts probably teaches more bad habits than anything.

I am a rare poster as well, I've spend countless hours on here reading just wish I had known that I needed to spend the time reading the newbie section to get the hours to be able to post if I decided I wanted to!

I swear it read the manual it just said 4 hours! Cry

Re: Buying BTC with MoneyGram?

I tried moneygram via bitinstant and had a horrible experience.  It just so happened to be administered by zip zap and the process was painful and complicated.  I then tried sending a post office money order to CampBx and it went through in a week or so.  CampBx is great for USD => BTC.

If you are exchanging with someone, just do it in person if at all possible.

I used BitInstant today and went through ZipZap as well.  At first I kept getting an error when I tried to submit as a one time thing but then I registered and it went right through. The email confirmation took about 20 minutes to come through but after that it was super fast. I paid the cashier at CVS and within a couple minutes got the Bitinstant transaction receipt. I'd say that's pretty instant!

I did not think it overly complex but I don't know where you were paying for it. At CVS you just pick up the red phone and its all automated, you punch in the numbers on the keypad, and all the information you need is on the email they sent to you along with the instructions on how to do it.
