Re: Its Bitcoin a good way to save money for our kids?
by

on 26/11/2018, 02:11:46 UTC

A friend of mine started to save money in BTC for his son.
Now he is in worry about the idea because of this last dropping months.

I told him to re-load some BTC up to lower the average.
If you have any suggestions about this please share

Its BTC a good way to save money for our kids?
Will this pay them a car? the university? a house? nothing at all?

I don't agree with you. Bitcoin doesn't have good value to store for our kids. In addition to this, the price of bitcoin is not stable.

Re: I will not sell under 20.000$ ! Why you do ?
by

on 26/11/2018, 01:28:23 UTC
I will never sell under 20k$, even if Bitcoin go to 100$ ...

The peoples who bought Bitcoin at 19k$, why you are selling them now ? You bought at 19k$ sell higher than that !

If you don't beleive at this technology do not buy anymore.
Because we are not sure whether it will raise again or not, the price may go down to 3k$, i don't think they can wait more.

Every market can be regulated by someone. To be honest, this is true, there always some big investors drive the price, they can make it go up or down.

none of them can be sure of what the crypto currency will be because the development of the crypto currency depends on the investor itself
Not sure that the development of the crypto currency depends on the investor itself. I think partly i depends on the action of crypto world.

Re: How to avoid a scam
by
JackyChu
on 24/11/2018, 04:23:50 UTC
It has been reported that up to 80% of advertised ICOs turn out to be scams. So, how do investors, especially those who are new to investing or new to cryptocurrency, know how to avoid falling into the hands of these scammers? (source: https://cointelegraph.com/news/new-study-says-80-percent-of-icos-conducted-in-2017-were-scams)

Listed below are 3 suggested (but not exhaustive) steps that one can take before making an investment. Hopefully, this will help many of you avoid being scammed.

1. Do your background research:

Whitepaper: If you ever think of investing into an ICO, make sure you make your proper due diligence into different areas. Firstly, read thoroughly through the Whitepaper to understand how strong is the company's business proposition. It should be clear and concise with information to the goals, how these will be attained, the timeline, the funding model and token sale to name the most important. If the Whitepaper does not have much to do with the project's main idea, seems vague and poorly thought out with more emphasis on explaining blockchain related concepts, then know that these can be possible signs of fraud. On the contrary, sometimes the Whitepaper can seem utterly well written and refined, but when you look deeper, you will realise that the idea is likely to fail and can hardly be carried out. Additionally, it is always an option to examine the Whitepapers of some of the legitimate ICOs as a point of comparison to the Whitepaper in question (e.g. the level of detail, clarity, topics covered etc.). Any mention of 'guaranteed returns' or specifications of what returns you will get on an investment are big warning signs. In other words, any business idea that puts emphasis on the monetary incentive over and above communicating the strength of the business idea is certainly suspicious.

Website: Check if the website gives a clear idea about the core of the project. When a website is looking polished and clean, it is a good sign, but note that even scammers can spend money into great looking websites. So, the key is to examine the quality content provided besides the Whitepaper, such as links to a blog, press materials, videos presenting the team etc.

The team: Check the identity and experience of everyone who is involved in the project team, including the developers, and cross check if their identities are verified elsewhere, like in LinkedIn. Examine if the team's background makes sense and adds value to the project. Some scammers use the name of famous blockchain experts as advisors or team members, but these claims are actually fraudulent. Hence, always check the veracity of such claims.

2. Stay suspicious:

Before investing into an ICO, take a 'guilty until proven innocent' stance. Don't make any assumptions that a project seems legitimate or sound. Make your research and if something seems off, investigate every inch out of it. For example, you can join the Telegram group, where the ICO has their active community, and ask your questions there. Examine the genuineness of the response you receive.

3. Check rating sites: There are a number of independent sites (e.g. ICObench, ICORating, FoundICO etc.) that help investors to check how legitimate are upcoming ICOs. Some of them give a rating based on the various factors, such as business idea, team or finance model. Other sites help to call out scammy ICOs, such as ICO Alert. We cannot take the information provided on these sites for granted, but it may be worthwhile to see what is their point of view on the project in question. Additionally, it is always an option to check what experts on crypto-related forums online say (e.g. Reddit) about a prospective investment.

I don't think that we can believe in rating sites. Some sites are not trustworthy. You should be careful.

Re: Do we still believe in Bitcoin?
by
JackyChu
on 24/11/2018, 02:55:48 UTC
Yes I truly believe in cryptocurrency. We all know that the basic aim of everyone for participating in any investment market is to earn profits and there is nothing wrong in that. But a person should have some realistic goals. You can invest in something blindly and then expect your money to be doubled in a week. You should research and study properly and take every decision wisely.
After spending a plenty of time learning about bitcoin, I still strongly believe in the future of bitcoin and cryptocurrency. I am not easy to be affected by the negative news so i will stay turn and wait.

A Billion People Will Be Using Cryptocurrency in 5 Years: Brian Armstrong
The world of money is revolutionizing in front of our eyes. Cryptocurrency is creating new paradigms for alternative payment systems and decentralized banking. There is no doubt that the user adoption of various cryptocurrencies is rapidly increasing. The cryptocurrency industry has become more fluid as the borders between it and mainstream finance continue to blur. At the same time, regulators are spending long hours at work to regulate the booming circle of crypto-enthusiasts.

It could be one of the prime reasons why Brian Armstrong believes crypto-adoption will increase at an astronomical pace in the next half-decade.

The Coinbase chief executive was responding to a question about cryptocurrency’s international outreach at TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco, to which he predicted that 1 billion people would eventually be using cryptocurrencies in the next five years.

Armstrong believes a growing number of cryptocurrency companies will contribute to the overall crypto ecosystem growth. These companies, under a regulated environment, will issue their tokens backed by their respective market caps. In a way, these institutionalized digital assets will prove to be an alternative investment system in addition to equities.

“It makes sense that any company out there who has a cap table should have their token,” Armstrong said. “Every open source project, every charity, potentially every fund or these new types of decentralized organizations [and] apps, they’re all going to have their tokens.”

Coinbase, the U.S. company Armstrong heads, is one of the world’s largest bitcoin and altcoin exchanges by trading volume. They have only recently entered the U.K. markets to tap the growing crypto-user base in the country. Previously, it had been working actively in the U.S. and Europe, and it has amassed over 13 million users to date. That makes it 32.5 percent of the overall crypto-users — arguably, anyway.

Armstrong plans to expand Coinbase to more global territories. They have recently announced their plans to open new offices in Africa.

I have no doubt on the prediction. In my opinion, this prediction will soon come true in near future.

Re: Bitcoin prices are destroyed, everyone is disappointed

on 23/11/2018, 08:45:17 UTC
I am very disappointed to see the price of bitcoin destroyed in recent days, I have lost a lot when I bought bitcoin at a high price, until when this bitcoin price dropped.
keeping holding more if you don't wanna lose more. I believe that bitcoin will soon recover. Im sick when I have to advice people do not leave crypto world. Whenevr you invest in anything, you must believe in your decision and your investment. You doubt about bitcoin' s price it means you doubt yourself. it doesn't make sense.
