Re: What is your point of no return?
by
Japinat
on 25/07/2025, 11:58:17 UTC

I think my point of no return is when I lost 20k in slots only, and it won't give me back a part of what I lost. I mean, I am expecting at least a bit of RTP, but if that doesn't happen until I feel like I am losing much, then I am gone.
ChatGPT said:
If that’s just for one day, then that’s already too much for me. My slots budget is only $20 max per day. But when it comes to sports betting, it’s a bit different..  I can risk $100 or more, especially if I really believe in my pick. We all have different budgets, since our incomes vary. That’s why when people say “only gamble what you can afford to lose,” there’s no fixed amount or timeframe, it really depends on each gambler’s personal situation.

Re: Is it still gambling if you're sure you're going to win?

Can we still say we are gambling if the event is something we are at least 90% sure that we are going to win?
Based on what I’ve been through, every time I feel almost 100% certain that I’m going to win, that’s exactly when I lose. it just happens like that. But still, it doesn’t mean you should always doubt yourself. Eventually, you’ll figure things out through experience and start to see which side makes more sense to go with. Just don’t rely on emotions all the time. It’s better to back it up with some research so at least you’re not just guessing, you’re confident both mentally and emotionally.

Re: Before trading know this about cryptocurrency

You can’t really compare trading to gambling because their purposes are completely different. Sure, you gamble to win, but the main reason people do it is for entertainment. In contrast, trading is more of a serious business, it’s not meant to be fun. It’s usually boring, and you need to apply real knowledge and skill if you want to be profitable in the long run.

Think of it like this:

Gambling --  profitable in the long run? Almost always no. Maybe 1% make it.
Trading -- profitable in the long run? Yes, at a much higher percentage, especially with discipline and experience.

Re: No Amount is Affordable in Gambling

whatever you think,  that’s just how the game is, always start with the principle of only gambling what you can afford to lose because losing is honestly more likely than winning. you always know how much you’re risking, but you’ll never know how much you might win, since it doesn’t always go your way.

I think the most important thing when gambling is sticking to your limit and making sure you're enjoying the game.
That way win or lose, at least you're still having fun.

When gambling it's better to only bet on low odds,<>

IMO, high odds or low odds don’t really guarantee success in sports betting. I think the best way to go is sticking with 50-50 odds, somewhere in the range of -110 to +110. That kind of range means it’s almost even in terms of probability, and your goal is just to win more than you lose.

Based on data, if you’re betting at -110 odds using flat betting, you need to win at least 53% to be profitable. And yeah, bankroll management plays a huge role too if you really want to make it work long term.

Re: The importance of Bitcoin in avoiding corruption in the banking system.

on 22/07/2025, 14:22:02 UTC
Corruption still exists, and even if we think Bitcoin could somehow solve it by moving away from fiat, the truth is that approval still goes through the government. sure, we can use Bitcoin because it’s decentralized and doesn’t need government backing. But the problem is, what if the government suddenly makes it illegal? Even if we enjoy the privacy, we lose the freedom since we’d technically be doing something illegal.

honestly, I think we just have to live with the current state of things. Corruption won’t be fully eliminated, because humans are naturally greedy, and that’s not something technology alone can fix.

Re: 2025 NBA Season

Assuming Kawhi Leonard will be healthy this year I think they will have a better playoffs run due to their good player rotation that makes their starter rest well.

They are unstoppable assuming this roster will work well.

He was healthy last season and they still lost… maybe things will be different this time around. Just imagine adding solid players like CP3, Lopez, and Beal .. in my opinion, those are legit superstars. However, i think  the real challenge now is chemistry, because sometimes, having too many stars on one team can mess up the system, especially if roles aren’t clearly defined or egos start clashing on the court.

Re: Trading business vs. gambling business in crypto
by
Japinat
on 22/07/2025, 04:43:45 UTC

Both have different markets and target users but I can't say which is more profitable. But let's end it this way that both really are profitable businesses and that's why we see new casinos being built and launched left and right, and the same goes to the newly launched exchanges. Because both of them drive more money to both economies.

We can get a glimpse here (https://coinmarketcap.com/) it shows over $200 billion in 24-hour trading volume. But since we’re talking about trading as a business, it’s not just limited to crypto trading.

If you do some research, you’ll see that trading and gambling businesses are almost on the same level in terms of potential profit. But for me, personally, I think trading is more profitable because it’s more stable in the long run. The thing is, it’s not ideal for small capitalists.

With gambling, you can actually start a business with way less capital. So it depends on your resources and what kind of risk you're willing to take.

Re: [Boxing] Mario Barrios vs Manny Pacquiao WBC Welterweight Title - July 19

Mayweather would be the safest opponent for Manny if a rematch ever materializes, but I doubt Floyd is open to the idea. Based on Manny’s performance against Barrios, I believe Floyd won’t take the fight, especially considering he’s already 48 years old, older than Manny, and likely no longer in boxing shape.
We haven’t even heard anything from Mayweather lately, not even an exhibition fight. He’s probably just enjoying retirement and doing his own thing.

And if he’s not in shape, no way he’s gonna agree to fight. He’s all about protecting that undefeated record, that’s really the only legacy he’s got in boxing, since a lot of people don’t even like his style. They find him boring in the ring.

Re: Don't Cap Bitcoin: The Game Never Ends
by

Very often we hear bitcoin price predictions particularly from popular bitcoin analysts, and as what I have understood, they don’t set a price limit on it, they are just anticipating what will be the future price of bitcoin.

Since bitcoin is highly volatile that makes it unpredictable, then it’s normal for us or any bitcoin analyst to predict what will be its next month’s price, year end price or the price 5-10 years from now, but there is no way any bitcoin analyst can set limits for bitcoin price opportunities.

Can we see a Pacman vs Mayweather in the near future? Manny told the media that he will fight and back.
Will Moneyweather go out of his retirement soon ? But I do hope that the next opponent of Manny is a fighter which is same as him.
a brave fighter that will box all the way and not just run or hug. we missed the Hatton boxing because of early KO.
If Mayweather comes out of retirement, that probably means he’s eyeing a rematch with Manny. We all know Mayweather’s always after easy money, and fighting Pacquiao means big cash. The real question is, is Mayweather still in shape like Manny? Pacquiao already proved he can still go toe-to-toe with a younger champ, so we know he’s ready. It’s Mayweather we’re not so sure about.

Re: How can you enjoy the game when you are losing?
by
Japinat
on 21/07/2025, 12:24:03 UTC
I think it’s really hard to enjoy when you’re losing. The fun only comes when you’re winning, even if you end up losing overall, just that moment of hitting a win feels good.

But that’s the path we all take as gamblers. We win some, we lose some, but most of the time, we lose more than we win. One big reason we lose big is when we lose control. I’ve been through that myself. a lot of times when I couldn’t control it, I ended up losing all my money, not just gambling money, but even the cash that was meant for other things.

That kind of experience isn’t fun at all. So I came to the conclusion that we only really enjoy gambling when we stick to money we can afford to lose.

Re: Before You Think of Giving Up on Crypto, Read This
by
Japinat
on 20/07/2025, 21:58:46 UTC
I think the one you mentioned, "Losses are part of the game" is the most important. It builds character before anything else. Strategy is the easy part since it's all in the mind, you can research, copy others, or learn through experience. But if you're not disciplined enough to accept losses, then everything you've learned becomes useless, because you won’t be able to execute your game plan properly.
Losses are not the reason to give up, but instead it will motivate you to improve even better not just to overcome those losses, but should go beyond it. That’s where discipline should enter the picture. While it’s a smart move to gain skills and working strategies to maximize the potential outcomes, but for any trader or investor to remain in crypto, it takes a lot of discipline and courage to keep going and to move forward.

Re: Can Bitcoin kill other crypto?
by
Japinat
on 20/07/2025, 20:46:17 UTC
Bitcoin leads them instead. There is no way that bitcoin should have to kill altcoins knowing he’s already on the top of them. If there are coins that would aim to kill the other coin, it would be altcoins killing bitcoin because they want to compete with it and replace its tops position.

However, we all know that altcoins easily die because they aren’t good enough. Because they can’t compete with bitcoin no matter what. And the fact that hundreds or thousands of altcoins have been developed every single day, then it’s normal to see other altcoins dying at first.

Re: 2025 NBA Season

I think LeBron's performance will start to decline, so he'll gradually lose his ability to carry the team on his own. There should be one or two more players like him to increase their chances of winning a championship. There are some good players on the Cavs' roster right now, but these players are rotation players, not star players.

I don’t really have high expectations at this point, but if he ends up joining the Cavs, that’s already a win. They’re a better team than the current Lakers lineup. The only concern is if they trade a star just to get him, if that happens, it won’t really help the team.

If LeBron wants to retire as a Cavalier, maybe he should take a smaller contract, not his usual max deal, so they can fit him in properly. I’m honestly looking forward to it, 'cause I don’t see him winning another ring with the Lakers anymore.

That’s why I didn’t hesitate to take the spread, currently at -6.5. Hoping SMB wins by double digits again. And as usual, Williams will be gassed out.  Cheesy

Good luck… TNT had a strong start again, 11-2, but it’s still early so can’t really say they got this.

Right now SMB is at 2.10 on the live odds, solid value if anyone’s looking to back them to win tonight.
Still no Erram, same lineup from Game 3, so I’m kinda expecting the same outcome.

Re: 1 Million Enough?
by
Japinat
on 19/07/2025, 21:59:36 UTC
Note that the very first rule when it comes to trading or investing alone is to start with an amount that you can afford to lose. So if you wish to start with 1 million Naira, does it mean you are ready to lose all of it in just a blink of an eye? I bet you are not, so do not be too greedy to rush whether it’s investment or trading, you will only lose for sure.

I suggest know your investment well before digging in. And if ever you want to trade in the future, prepare for it, study for it, and above all learn from the early traders and their experiences.

Thank you for your good tips OP. But just to remind every newbies out there, knowing all of these is just a small portion when you are in real trading. Skills and experience matter the most, so if you think you certainly have less knowledge and experience on trading, it’s better to study more of it before you decide to risk your hard-earned money into trading.

As much as knowledge and experience are crucial when trading, I should say having patience and emotional control as well will pave way for a better trading performance. So make sure to develop those positive traits first before engaging in real trading.

That's his challenge to himself and his strategy not to go deep in this activity. Because each one of us has different approach in combating the addiction. And for him - total pause is needed not to go on the brink of addiction.

I get that, but I’m still hoping the OP comes back one day, fully in control of himself. It’s okay to take a break for a month or even a year, but if the love for gambling is still there, I think we can continue, as long as we’re in control. The real enemy isn’t gambling itself, it’s our lack of control. That’s the part we need to work on.

TNT is rotating their players really well and everyone’s contributing. That’s a huge factor since they’re healthy, and they’re also dominating the paint with their bigs. Just look at Williams, he’s the one defending JMF, and that’s not easy. JMF is heavy, so it’s tiring to guard him, and there’s always the risk of getting into foul trouble.

One thing I’ve noticed is that when SMB controls the pace, the game usually goes over. So if SMB wins again, which I honestly wouldn’t doubt, there’s a good chance it hits the over.

And with the way JMF is playing, he’s probably on track to win Finals MVP.
