Re: Crypto VS national currency

Many countries are increasingly thinking about a strategy of how to deal with the global rise and mass adoption of cryptocurrencies. If Bitcoin is the money of the people, fiat currency is the money of the state.

Governments and central banks from India, Japan, Canada, Russia, Switzerland to Singapore and the Marshal Islands are having projects as to how best create a government backed digital currency. Several other governments, including China, Estonia, and Iran, have discussed plans for their own digital currency.

Re: Don't hold Bitcoin for long time.

if you hold you could regret holding. In my opinion you should go hit the desired amount and try to move your investments in something else such as a bit more stable investments with lower % returns. But again if you are here because you simply would like to use this as currency then there isn't anything of why you will look into selling.

Re: Bitcoin alternatives in 2018
by

Bitcoin Cash: this alternative is not that far removed from Bitcoin itself. When Bitcoin’s market value soared last year, everyone wanted in and started investing. This created a backlog of transactions because miners couldn’t add enough blocks in time. Bitcoin Cash split off from the original back in August 2017 to solve the problem. Known as a ‘Hard Fork’, Bitcoin Cash works the same, except its blocks were increased from 1mb to 2mb of data to help speed up transactions and keep fees down. Since Bitcoin dipped, however, the price of Bitcoin Cash has gone the same way.

Bitcoin is the most mature blockchain (9 years) and has a stronger brand than any other coin. It also continues to enjoy strong network effects and a highly skilled developer base. It is the safest asset within the crypto-currency ecosystem. For these reasons Bitcoin’s value will continue to exceed other coins,

Since bitcoin’s significant price rise, altcoins have been brushed off to the side as bitcoin’s dominance climbed to 87.4 percent. Altcoin interest has waned as each alternative digital asset has lost market capitalization over the past two months

Re: Is Bitcoin overhyped?

It’s probably a sign of the times that every self respecting value investing blog has to have a post about bitcoin. And when you tell a random person that you invest the first question these days is if you own (or trade) bitcoins or not. So I guess “The Alpha Vulture” can’t stay behind, and share with the world what it thinks about bitcoin, whether you want to hear it or not. As the title of this post implies I’m skeptical about bitcoin, and most other software projects that are based on blockchain technology.

Re: What is the reason why we really need Bitcoin?

Bitcoins are digital assets. They’re intangible, yet a Bitcoin wallet can hold vast amounts of wealth. You could carry a Billion dollars worth of Bitcoin in your pocket on something as simple as a flash drive.

It would be naive and egotistical of us to think that we can predict exactly which projects will be the best performers, and you shouldn't listen to anyone who claims to know anything for sure in crypto.

There are 2 ways of trading
Intraday : where you don't take delivery of the stock and compulsorily square off your position the same day. You can short or long in this segment.
Delivery based : where you take delivery of the stock and end up squaring off your position from the next day to whenever you like. You compulsorily go long in this segment

Re: New to Crypto, Any Advice?
by

One of the first rules of any kind of trading is not to invest more than you can afford to lose. Even though the outlook for Bitcoin is overwhelmingly positive, the fact remains that the cryptocurrency market is extremely volatile, with large gains and losses happening in a matter of minutes. So, instead of putting the majority of your savings onto a trading platform, start with a small percentage - perhaps maximum of 10%. This should allow you enough money to play around with, but not so much that you will spend years playing catchup if you make a wrong move or the whole enterprise goes belly-up. Especially as a beginner, it's important to realise that you are going to make losses until you learn the hard way what not to do, so make sure those losses are manageable.

For me, I always check it daily if my altcoins going pump or dump. Watching the chart is good because we see it if we hold or sell our altcoins.

Re: why so many peoples belived in pump 2018?
by

Welcome to the wild world of altcoin “pump groups,” where participants believe they are the wolves, but they’re actually probably the sheep.

“Pumping is the process through which a large group of people agree to buy a certain coin at a particular time,” reads the welcome messages for The Alt Pump, a pump group based in the messaging app Discord that has more than 30,000 members. “With this group, you will have large amounts of people buying a coin at the same time. This will pump the price straight up. After this the dumping part comes in. After the price rises tremendously up because of the pumping, we start selling at a good profit. This is called dumping.”

Re: Is it safe to participate in ICO's?

With Bitcoin blockchain leading the surge in the cryptocurrency market, having a market capitalization of over $136 billion USD, shows consistent growth in marginal profit and has also inspired today’s altcoins and many in the cryptocurrency community towards building new crypto undertakings. It is safe to say at this point that while this new technology is uncharted territory to most economic systems, the current level of adaptation is being explored and new use cases are developed on a constant basis to demystify this economic tool.

The blockchain is the premise for which all Initial Coin Offering and their derivatives are built upon. As internet based businesses are moving their real world assets unto the blockchain, they find it convenient to use the digitized form of their assets to leverage the blockchain possibilities to their advantage. On the other hand, exploiting these possibilities have revealed flaws and cracks within the decentralized system as many have attempted to use the network for illicit purposes.

Re: Greed and crypto !!

Many begin to trade cryptocurrencies because they want to make a large amount of money with a small initial investment. In the cryptocurrency market, where volatility can exceed more than 25% in a single day, this can often be one of the primary drivers to bring new traders into the market. What is not always immediately obvious to these traders is that they also face the very real risk of losing money.

Almost all airdrop are trash, you can simply go to the first page on their Announcement thread, there are so simple and only talk about airdrops. All these thing are trash and when the coins accepted on etherdelta, the dev will dump all the coins. Only 1-2 project airdrops will become succes others are not.
