Re: New to Bitcoin - Dollar cost average?
by

I would love to know why Bitcoin wasnt the first investment rather than
$hitcoins other crypto?

There are a lot of us here who DCA along with "buy the dip". Which is essentially
buy after a correction down in the market. You dont have to try and catch the lowest
point but buying the dips helps to keep the DCA lower.

Bitcoin isn’t the only investment that can do well in years to come. At present Ethereum takes up the largest amount of my portfolio (26%) but I want to now start investing in Bitcoin for long term hold.

When I first started 10 weeks ago it was when Bitcoin was crashing and I didn’t know how far it was going to fall at the time. I could have started investing when Bitcoin was over $60,000 but looking at the history of bitcoin that is a very high price. Currently Bitcoin is around $42000 which is a much better entry price.

I will start investing soon and DCA plus buy extra during the dips.

Hi all,

First started investing in Crypto 10 weeks ago early November but am yet to get involved with Bitcoin.

I want to start investing in Bitcoin for the long term - is the best way to dollar cost average or do you just buy when you feel the price is low?

I am yet to DCA with any of my crypto and just buy when I feel price is low but seeing as Bitcoin is the safest hold for long term thinking of DCA.

Decentraland - worth investing?
by
Jds1990
on 16/01/2022, 17:09:18 UTC
Hi all,

When I first started investing in Crypto 10 weeks ago the first coin my friend told me to get involved with was Decentraland as he believes it has a great future.

It is currently 18% of my portfolio but I am just wondering what everyone else thinks about the future for Decentraland as it is not something that is often talked about.

I am holding for a good few years so hoping to make some good returns, my average buy in price is $3.40.

I watch videos on youtube but would be good to get opinions from others on this forum too.

I am hoping Decentraland can one day reach $100 - is this realistic?

Polkadot Potential?

What is everyone's thoughts on Polkadot?

I have been watching for a while after hearing good things but the price does not seem to be dropping much.

I have seen some say it can ready $500 or even $1000 but how long is this likely to take?

Current price is $26 , is now a good time to start investing or is it likely to drop to around $20? I want to buy and hold for a few years at least.

Immutable X - worth investing?
by
Jds1990
on 13/01/2022, 22:10:29 UTC
Immutable X is the first layer 2 protocol in Ethereum that focuses on NFTs and features zero fees and instant trading. ... Immutable X has created a platform that can enable NFTs to flourish on ETH and make it accessible to more creators.

Immutable X has only been around for a few months , has anyone invested yet or thinking of doing so?

Sounds like a promising hold for 1-2 years I am just not sure what price to enter at , it is currently $3.54 and I have added it to my watch list.

Re: Can Shiba Inu reach same level as Dogecoin?

How about a shiba price of $0.001? Is this realistic by 2024 or 2025? I am looking to hold for 2 or 3 years.

I am just trying to understand if it is worth taking a gamble on, if it has the potential to reach $0.001 then it can be a good investment.

Can Shiba Inu reach same level as Dogecoin?

Hello all,

Looking at the history of Dogecoin I see it took roughly 4 years to reach $0.01.

I see Shiba Inu has only been around for 18 months and just wondering if it can reach $0.01 also?

If so, are talking years? If not, why?

I haven’t got involved with Shiba yet but am thinking about it.

Re: Avalanche - Good time to buy?

Hello all,

I have been watching Avalanche a lot over the last few weeks after hearing good things but am yet to get involved.

For those who know this coin well, it it worth investing for long term hold?

Current price is $87, thinking of buying when it hits $82?

I would suggest you not to try catching the deepest dip there - you won't guess where it is. Avalanche is a strong project and its growth in the longterm is inevitable. So, just buy some of these coins and forget about them for at least 3 months Smiley

Avalanche is now up to $94 I am hoping it comes back down to $85 soon which is when I will buy my first lot.

Re: Dogecoin - a joke or a way to make money?
by

Hello all,

I have only been looking into dogecoin today after a mate of mine advised me to invest.

I don’t know too much about dogecoin but my mate said he is investing after something to do with Tesla?

Current price is $0.15 , how likely is this coin to reach $1 and if so when?

It might have started off as a joke but if it has the potential to reach $1 then could be a good investment.

Bitcoin - Is $1,000,000 possible?
by
Jds1990
on 10/01/2022, 15:48:36 UTC
Hi all,

I have been investing in crypto since early November so not too long.

So far I am invested in 8 different coins but am yet to get involved with Bitcoin.

I think I have been hesitant up till this point because of how much it has crashed since I started investing 9 weeks ago but I have been reading a few articles online saying how it is possible for Bitcoin to reach $1,000,000 in years to come.

Is this possible? If so how likely is it to happen and how far down the line are we talking? 2025? 2030?

I want to start investing in Bitcoin for the long term so would be happy if it even reaches $500,000.

Yes, this Avalanche is a very good coin. At present its price 86.86$.It once stood at a maximum of 134$. At present the price has come down a lot in that proportion. So you can buy and invest this coin if you want. I gave it with the price chart.https://i.imgur.com/M3gOjlC.jpg

I do not know too much about Avalanche yet I will research more later today.

Does look like a good price currently so will watch closely over the next few days and hopefully it drops to $82 again.

The old Blockfolio App (now FTX) works great.  I highly recommend checking it out.

https://blockfolio.com/

Hi, is blockfolio safe?

Am fairly new to crytpo so forgive me if that is a stupid question just want to make sure before I link my portfolio.

I use Coinbase and can see I can link my porfolio to Blockfolio.

I am just looking for an easy way of keeping an eye on all my crypto purchases.

Best apps for keeping track of portfolio?
by
Jds1990
on 09/01/2022, 13:42:17 UTC
Hi all,

I know how much total I have invested in Crypto but I have lost track of how much I have put into each coin.

I use Coinbase and I feel it is a good platform however there is no easy way for me to see how much I have put into each coin, it only tells you a percentage not an exact amount.

What are the best apps for keeping track? Whatever app I use I want it to be safe also as I have over £1000 invested now which will soon be £1500 if this current market dip continues.

Thanks in advance

Re: Buy the dip or keep waiting?
by
Jds1990

Hi all,

Fairly new to crypto so I am by no means an expert but I want to use this current market to increase my portfolio while prices are low.

This time last week I was reading articles and watching youtube videos saying how certain coins were a great price and could 5x 10x or even 20x this year, so surely now is a good time buy?

I am investing in crypto to hold long term so I am not panicking at all about the money I have invested so far and will not sell anything. I just want to buy when prices are low and hold when then start rising again.

I am just wondering what everyone else is doing at the moment? Are you buying now or do you feel the market is only going to keep falling over the next few weeks/months and we should wait a while longer?

the first, never believe predictions on youtube, or social media. do your own research to your own standards. it's better than believing what people say on youtube.

Second, if you want to wait, how long will you wait? this is a very low price, and there is a possibility the pump. Personally, if I want to buy something, then I will buy it defensively. like, currently buying 25%, and if there is a decline, I will buy again at that percentage, and so on. however, if the price goes up, I've made a profit on the asset I chose, and if the price goes down, I can buy more.

Re: Spell token - worth investing?

Did you mean this, right? https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/spell-token/ it looks nice to buy this and im familar with abracadabra

The price looks a bit stable compared with another coin and as you can see that the price of spell was only going down only 60% since its ATH while there are bunch of coins going down more than 80% since ATH.

It seems a good coin to be bought. This is also supporting multiple network.

Yes that is the right coin.

I will wait a while longer and may take a gamble on it and hold long term.

Spell token - worth investing?
by
Jds1990
on 09/01/2022, 10:01:45 UTC
Hello all,

Was browsing potential altcoins to invest in earlier this morning and came across Spell Token which is currently trading at £0.01.

For anyone who is not too familiar with this coin here is a brief description:

Spell Token (SPELL) is a token that governs Abracadabra. money, a platform that lets users deposit collateral in the form of interest-bearing crypto assets (such as yvYFI, yvUSDT, yvUSDC, xSUSHI) in order to mint MIM, a stablecoin that attempts to maintain a value of US$1.00.

Majority of my portfolio are stable coins which should stick around for the long term but I am looking for a few smaller coins to take a gamble on while the price is low for a long term hold.

Does anyone follow this coin? Is it worth investing?

Interesting replies so far  Smiley

I have bought a lot in the past few days so think I will wait a little longer to see how the next few days go.
I do not have a lot of funds remaining for the month but if it does keep dropping I will go into my savings as the price will be too good to ignore.

I have not bought any Bitcoin yet but have a lot of Ethererem (32% of my portfolio).

When Etheterum hits $2900 I will buy more.

Newbie - Bear & Bull market?
by
Jds1990
on 08/01/2022, 13:59:29 UTC
Hi all,

Having only started investing in Crypto 9 weeks ago early November I consider myself a beginner with a lot to learn.

I have heard of Bear & Bull Market and my understanding is we are currently in a bear market but what I want to know is there anyway we will know how long this will last for?

What is a normal period of time to be in either market are we talking weeks or months?

I am currently invested in 7 different coins and I want to hold them all for at least a year adding to each one when I feel the price is low but how can I tell that?

When I started 9 weeks ago Ethererum was at £3,500 and my mate who introduced me to this crypto world told me to wait until it dropped to £3,200 to start investing. I waited longer then that and started at £3,000 but since then it has just kept falling and I have kept buying. Do we know how low Ethererum can go? Is falling below £2,000 realistic? I dont know, but with my mate telling me to start buying at £3,000 it makes me feel that these current prices are great and I will keep buying.

I would just like to be able to look at the market and have a better understanding of everything.
