Got a asked from a m8 who invested in this coin to explain why the marketcap is a disaster. Its really simple you need more exchanges, I look at the exchange pairings and I ask myself what if bittrex ceases to exist. The price will drop in half overnight because you won't have a place to trade it.

That’s why Gulden is developing an exchange.

https://guldenbites.com/all-coins-dex/

Dex will be a game changer for Gulden, instead of giving an exchange 10btc to be added it's better to build a Dex with the dev funds. It will make the Gulden wallets more fun to use. Already Gulden wallets have witnessing, cpu mining and account system.

Yep. With Gulden Wallets you can do everything without the need of a third party. No need for a staking service or mining pool or whatever. It’s all done in your own wallet, with your own keys. Awesome!

Now with Dex it will go even further, trading in your own wallet! And maybe, who knows, we will get lending funds in a later stage....

Today the long awaited Phase4 of Gulden’s PoW2 roll out activated. Along with a greatly improved chain efficiency and new features the update also increased the rewards for those running witness accounts.

https://guldenbites.com/2020/04/04/gulden-just-activated-highly-improved-blockchain/

What taking bittrex so long to update, want to withdraw more coins to witness

Bittex has a very large amount of transactions on their account, takes a tad longer for them to synch than for a regular user. They are on it. If not already finished. Trading is not affected. Just deposit and withdrawels.

The gulden blockchain has become too complicated for exchanges, money is meant to be easy and limited supply.

Yep, building rockets it too complicated. Let’s not head to the moon. Can someone please inform Musk!?
Actually the new Gulden chain is 58% more efficient, so that will help exchanges with lesser load on their systems.
Note: Bittrex’s wallet is up and running again. They supported Gulden from the beginning and still do. Very much appreciated. Thanks.

Anyone having issues with new version to sync? Previous version was less then 30 minutes.

Gulden is mids an enormous transition to the new Mainnet. Please upgrade the desktop wallet to at least version 2.2.0.4. It will take a little longer to synch compared to previous updates, since it will download the complete blockchain again.

1 person can keep the EFL marketcap over $1 000 000 but 100 000 people can't maintain $3 000 000 marketcap for NLG?

There is no marketcap for EFL. Last 4 days it had 1€ volume. So it’s dead. Officially. No trade, no development, dead. The marketcap it has is just were it passed away... R.I.P. EFL.

I have decided to look at Gulden as a project I contributed to for Malcolm's development that will make the world a better place one day and give future generations options besides the current banking system. Europeans are bankrupt so maybe some US or Chinese company will use Malcolm's development, companies with lots of money to market blockchain.

Thank you Malcolm for all the work you have done on Gulden, if you were part of a project where people with lots of money your development would be noticed.

I am not convinced the battle between EFL and NLG is over. Rijk is printing a lot of Gulden to keep development up but EFL doesn't have to spend on development. We need 1 or 2 more average buyers and our marketcap will pass Gulden easily.

Who is ‘we’? Thought you where the only one left with some EFL! 😆
Glad Gulden is doing development. Don’t want to be as arrogant and stupid as Kodak once was. We know how that ended.

Btc pairing bringing down the Gulden marketcap, if it was just Euro pairings the coin would be steady in price. Gulden performing well compared to other coins , moved up over 50 ranks on CMC.

Gulden is Rank 70 on CMC now from last weeks rank 74.  Just filter out the non-mineable coins. As you would filter on cars and not schoolbussen and trucks when looking for a new ride on eBay. 😘
Historically Gulden was rank 13. Let’s see if we can climb back slowly.

Ok, the following is a quote from the blog Malcolm just released.

“We have always maintained that a blockchain that is secure, has stable block intervals, is robust and scalable, are the bare minimum requirements and that only with this in place does it make sense to build more user visible products and really push for adoption.”

Together with the recent news that Gulden is in the top 11 on node count, If people are still hesitant to buy into Gulden, I really don’t know what else could convince you.

Yep.,
And as expected, mining rewards are hodled for a large percentage. Looks promising.

Earned my first reward Jean.Luc , thanks again for letting me know to keep the wallet open but future accounts I will still go for 220-250k. I will buy slowly over 3 months as I can see it does not take much btc to push the prices high and don't want to indirectly manipulate the market by buying 5 btc worth in small timeframe.

Nice! Glad it also works for you.
Maybe you want to try mining as well. It’s super easy to set up. In the same Gulden desktop wallet. Just choose to add a mining account , dedicate 4GB and go.

I have funded my first witness account, if this goes well I will create 10.

If you have fund today the 6 account with 50.000 Gulden for 9 month and 4 accounts with 50.000 for 3 years then you have made a mistake. Better was 1 account 300k for 9 month and 1 account of 200k for 3 year.
6 times 50000 9 month gives an interest rate of 2,13% versus 1 account 300k for 9 month gives 4,12%
4 times 50k 3 year gives  4,6%, while 1 account of 200k for 3 year gives an interest rate of 6,68%

All mentioned interest rates are on annual base
Sorry

You can calculate this with the calculator https://www.dactual.com/witnesscalculator.php

I only created 1 account for 175 000 but no rewards after 677 blocks, if I start getting rewards 1 per day the next account I will create is 250 000 because estimated reward frequency is 0.99 on this account and I want to make sure I get 1 reward a day for all witness accounts I create.

the average is important...  a 300K account can give you 0 per day, or up to 3 rewards per day Smiley

Still no reward but lets see how it performs over the next week. Thanks for your response  Smiley

You have to keep the wallet open, the computer running and an active internet connection. Please make sure you did put a password on the wallet!
If you can not meet these criteria, you can always export the witnesskey and place it in an Cloud service as offered by https://cloud.g-dash.nl/
The beauty about witness is that the funds will always stay on your account (recoveryphrase) and sending the witnesskey only gives others the possibility to receive the rewards, not your initial funding the witness deposito. GDash will sent rewards back to you every 4 hours (if any received of course). You pay 1 nlg per block you/they witness.

I have asked Yobit to sort out Gulden wallet. I can trade on this exchange.

Edit: Yobit looks to be Scam exchange
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4327871.0

I manage to get onto bittrex, PM for more info.

What is the best amount to use as witness? I want to put half coins into witness.

Try this calculator for witness.

https://www.dactual.com/witnesscalculator.php

I have one account with around 25k and one account with 150k @ 3 years. The 25k account was doing well at the start but the 150k is performing MUCH better in the last 3 months, if I could go back in time I would of created one 175k witness account.
The 150k account on some days gets 3 witness rewards.

The witness rewards are also going from 20 to 30 per block when Guldens blockchain 2.0 (Phase 4) is released.

Bigger is better when it comes to witnesses.

You can adjust the 25k account when phase4 comes.
.

WITNESS IN PHASE 4: THE CHANGES (ENGLISH)
When phase 4 is released, it will bring new functionality to everybody who is operating as a witness. In this post we would like explain what this new functionality is. (Thanks to Malcolm for the summary and Aat for the stAatistics)

COMPOUNDING OF EARNINGS
Option to automatically add the rewards you receive for being a witness to the existing locked balance of your witness account, this added amount increases your witness account weighting as if it were there from the accounts creation.

OPTIMISE YOUR ACCOUNT
The UI will provide a convenient single and simple to use interface (a single button you can press) to perform split/merge for you as appropriate without having to worry about the details yourself.

EXTEND YOUR ACCOUNT
Add more time and/or amount to an already locked account (restrictions apply)

ROTATE
You can change your witnessing key, for example in case you given it to a service like g-dash and don’t want that anymore, or have reason to believe your witnessing device was hacked, etc.

HIGHER REWARDS
Due to the decision to change the blockreward, witnesses will receive 30nlg reward in phase 4, in stead of the 20nlg one would receive in phase 3. Community member Aat created a nice overview of what expected rewards will be when phase 4 starts (based on the current witness accounts statistics, which are subject to change)

Phase4 includes the following: (SegSig is already implemented, Gulden calls it SegWit.)

The transaction sizes look normal pre SegWit or is SegSig implemented into phase 4 code waiting to be released?

SegWit is not just Blocksize. Gulden implemented only the parts they seemed beneficial. It therefor is an own developed version with it’s own name: (I keep confusingly mixing both names).

Gulden can be programmed like Bitcoin, but not yet to the extent as ETH is. But that is on the wishlist. You need the basics first (being a solid and fast and secure chain, which we have completed with phase4), than you can proceed with the more fancy stuff like tokens on top of Gulden.
