Re: PhoenixMiner 5.6d: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Win/Linux)
by

The new beta version is finally ready. You can download PhoenixMiner 5.7a from here:

PhoenixMiner_5.7a_Windows.zip (GitHub)
PhoenixMiner_5.7a_Linux.tar.gz (GitHub)

The new features in this release are:

  • Added lock core clock
  • The problem with the missing GPU temperatures on Nvidia GPUs is fixed
  • Added native kernels for AMD RX6700 GPUs. These are faster than the generic kernels and produce a lot less stale shares
  • Increase the max supported DAG epoch to 550 (should be enough to about Jan 2023)
  • Full support for setting clocks, fan speeds, voltages, and memory timings of AMD RX6900/6800/6700 cards
  • The specific hashrate is now shown in the form of kilo hashes per joule (kH/J). Example: if a GPU has hashrate of 30 MH/s with 100W power usage, the specific hashrate is 300 kH/J
  • Added new command-line parameters -ttj and -ttmem, allowing automatic fan speed control based on GPU hotspot (junction), and memory temperatures respectively. Example: -ttmem 83 will keep the GPU

memory temperature at or bellow 83C by increasing the fan speed as necessary. These parameters can be combined with -tt, as well as with each other. These options are supported only on AMD GPUs that report

    junction and memory temperatures
  • Added new command-line parameters -tmaxj and -tmaxmem, allowing to decrease the GPU usage when the GPU hotspot (junction), or GPU memory temperatures are above the specified thresholds. These options

are supported only on AMD GPUs that report junction and memory temperatures
  • Added support for AMD Windows drivers 21.3.2, and 21.3.1
  • Added support for AMD Linux drivers 20.50.x. Use this drivers only if you have Polaris or older GPUs, or the latest RX6x000 GPUs. WARNING: Vega, Radeon VII, and Navi GPUs won't work with these

    drivers!
  • Turn off the zero fan feature on AMD cards whenever a fixed fan speed is used (e.g. -tt -40), or when an auto fan with min fan speed is used (e.g. -tt 63 -minfan 35). To disable this feature, add -

    fanstop 1 command-line parameter
  • When -mcdag 1 is specified under Linux, the miner will not wait for the daggen.sh script to finish before starting to generate the DAGs. Instead it will for a fixed 7 seconds. This allows you to do all

the following in the daggen.sh: turn off the overclocking of Nvidia GPUs, sleep for 30-60 seconds to allow time for DAG generation, and then re-apply the overclocking of the Nvidia GPUs
  • Other small improvements and fixes

The support for -ttj, -ttmem, -tmaxj, and -tmaxmem for Nvidia 3090 and 3080 GPUs is not yet ready for release. We hope to have it ready for the final 5.7 release.

For more robust integrity check, you can use our GPG public key, which was verifyed with ETH transaction from our main devfee account as explained here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?

Thanks for that. Do you know of any that explain it in laymans terms - for someone who is just getting into crypto.

I was thinking of just using BTC to calculate and forgetting all about Dollar value.

How would I do it on BTC alone?

Ok, I'd like to pose this another way.

I want to risk 2% of my account and I want to make 10% of my account on every trade that I do.

I want to risk 2% of my account, not by setting a stop loss, but rather entering the trade with only 2% of my entire capital. That way, if it goes to zero or the coin is delisted, I only lose 2% of my account.

At the same time, I want to exit when that trade climbs to a point where it equals 10% of my account.

So if I have 0.08677216 BTC in my trading account, and I want to risk 2% of that (0.0017 BTC), I know I can buy 0.0017 BTC worth of altcoin.
If I want to exit with 10% of my account, I know that 10% of 0.08677216 BTC is 0.0086.

How do I convert that 0.0086 into an altcoin price, so I know when to exit?
Do I simply divide the 0.0086 by the current altcoin price?

If so, it would be 0.0086 / 0.00027360 = 31.43.
What does that 31.43 mean? Is that the future price I should exit?

Maths is not my strong subject.

Appreciate the help,

Let's say I wanna invest in DOTBTC.
The price is 0.00027360.

I wanna invest $20.

How do I work out the amount of coin I should be buying given the current price?

I'm just getting back into Crypto after a long time, during which I've forgotten a lot of stuff.

If I have $1000 in my trading account and I want to risk $20 on a trade (with no stop) and plan to make $100 on that trade, how do I figure out the amount of altcoins I should buy?

Then, how do I calculate where I need to exit to make $100?

Appreciate the calculation help,

Calculating Percentages
by
Jetheat
on 12/05/2020, 19:17:18 UTC
On Tradingview, with the current price of 700, I am calculating a 2% stop loss and a 5% Take Profit limit.

So that would be -
Stop Loss: 700 * 2% = 14. So stop should be at 686 (700 - 14).
Take Profit: 700 * 5% = 35. So TP should be at 735 (700 + 35).

But now look at what the Tradingview order entry panel gives me when I enter a 2% SL or 5% TP limit.

You can see that it calculates it differently and its putting the Stop Loss 20 pips away (instead of 14) and the TP 52 pips away (instead of 35).

Can someone explain this anomaly?

Appreciate the help,

Re: Which Trading Platform Can Display Multiple Charts?

Know of any platform that can do that?
I think you are looking for this ---> https://cryptowat.ch/   ---> click on cryptowatch ---> charts
The first link gives a professional interface in addition to many trading options, if you are an expert then the list will be useful.

or you can go to https://cryptowat.ch/ ---> roll down ----> View Asset Cards ----> https://cryptowat.ch/cards/assets
The second link displays the prices but does not provide a professional interface for that. As a beginner, I recommend you.

The good thing is that you can control screen sizes or layouts.

How do you add more charts to the same page at the same time?
How do you view the depth chart?

I currently use Coinigy and they have all the features except multiple charts on one page.

So that's the main issue for me.

I currently use different browser tabs for each of the charts.

Do they offer a Depth Chart?
Tradingview will help you draw a prediction pattern of price movements as desired, both in trial and paid mode. I think there is no depth chart in the Tradingview because for each exchange the depth chart will vary based on the activity of traders there. So, you can simply monitor it in the exchange you want, such as binance or others.

Yeah, thats what I do now but I am looking for a trading platform which has benefits of both multiple charts on one page as well as a depth chart.

Know any?

I don't mind paying for Tradingview but I don't see them offering a depth chart which i use often.
Do you understand all the features offered by Tradingview so far for you ? Free mode may not give you all access to the features there, try to pay for it if you need full features.

Do they offer a Depth Chart?

I guess you are looking for Trading View. It has all the options you are looking for. I have no idea if any of the exchanges are offering charts where you can draw as well. Moreover, some of the portfolio app as well have different kinda charts like RSI, MA etc but you can't draw chart there.

On Tradingview, I can't open up multiple charts on one screen with the free version.

Also, they don't offer Depth Charts which I was also looking for.

I'm looking for a trading platform which will allow me to open and resize and display multiple charts on one screen, so I can see all these charts at a glance.
If I can draw on these charts, that would be better.

Know of any platform that can do that?

Amount of BTC you wish to invest (divided by) Price of the Altcoin in BTC

Again, with an example....
Code:
0.3BTC * 1BNB/ 0,00211898BTC

That's great. Just what I needed.
Thanks a lot.

What's the Value of 1 Altcoin (in BTC)?
by

on 24/04/2020, 21:40:27 UTC
I'm trying to place an order on TradingView to buy BNB.

But I wanna spend 0.3 Bitcoin for the trade.
But the platform doesn't give me an option to enter how many bitcoins I wanna trade. Instead, it asks me how many altcoins (BNB) I wanna buy.

So what's the formula for converting say 0.3 bitcoin to a specific altcoin?

Appreciate the help,

Placing Limit Buy and Sell Order on Coinigy
by
Jetheat
on 22/04/2020, 16:40:26 UTC
How do I enter a limit trade on Coinigy (a price in the future) by placing a Take Profit limit order at the same time?
Is this possible?

If not, how do I place the Limit Sell (Take Profit) order after I have entered the trade?

Appreciate the help,
