This seems kind of silly... and I also wouldn't call it "low risk" either.

I highly recommend DiabloMiner for the 7970, I tend to get higher hashes with it.

My GPU has been running probably an average of 16 hours a day since January 2013. It's a Gigabyte 7970, and the only problem so far is that the fans are now loud when they're on max speed.
