If we would finally get a Windows Version, the coin would have a chance! There are very many Windows users around. Why did you decide to ignore them from the start?

After developer gets in contact with me, tomorrow, when he wakes up..

I'm giving him 4 hours, to finish what he started.
I asked him if he'd be able to deliver H2O on time, before countdown hits 0, he confirmed.
This deal is breaking ( if he doesn't deliver in those 4 hours ), since he failed to deliver on time.

If he fails on that,

I'm offering 3BTCfrom the IPO to a reputable developer of BCT, to make H2O.

You know what's your problem from the start? You are always speaking of ONE dev. You have only one developer working on a software project? Ever heard about code review? The fact that if someone else is looking over the code of one programmer, he will find bugs that the first one didn't find? Always!

Professional software development realized that it is absolutely necessary to do a code review on any code written by a developer - meaning that you need to have at least TWO devs to make a successful software project.

Please think about that...

If any of you were lucky - Groestl can now be traded at https://www.newcointrade.com/
I would not trust this exchanger

I have no idea whether this is trustful or not - just wanted to share the information with you!

All of this was hacked in 9 days, and Fugue within approximately 24 hours. Only
minimal cleanup afterwards.

Christian

I just got a yay!!! on FC after such a long time mining, finally! Thanks Christian! :-)

I am still getting about 10 Yays per hour on each rig of ca. 500 MHash/s.
It felt like one per minute per Yay on each rig when I was having half the network hash rate.  ;-)

Well you must know I am using a 780M on my AlienWare Laptop, and usually there is not much to get with that. But your brandnew ccminer gets me ~ 90 MHs and that's just great! We just love to see the Yays, don't we? ;-)

Just because a couple of you are getting lucky and glitching into europa does not mean it works, europa does not broke, did not implement KGW correctly and is a complete scam coin, hope all of you enjoy the hack you downloaded!!!

Yes, stay away from this.
Notice how to OP does not respond?

Don't waste your hash on this broken coin folks

Seems to be working much better now. Still many orphans, but even more confirmed coins. The extremely low difficulty has its drawbacks, but for me it seems that it is getting more and more stable now...

doesn't sound very practical on coin launch... nor for solo mining... (put that way, you can't even choose what to mine...)

Good point! Haven't thought about that... was just thinking about a way to get Christian the tribute he deserves. The voluntary donation approach doesn't really work I suppose, but most of us here would gladly contribute to his great work. That's why I thought built-in fees would make all of us happy...

It would be to much work. Since xptminer tends to be for a specific coin, and can only be used for their site. He have to make a new version of every coin someone wants to mine. He'd have an easier time setting up his own altcoin pool and charging a fee

Well there are 2 ways - either you hardcode the pool, or you hardcode the fee address. A hardcoded fee address going to cbuchner1 would of course mean that he needs to have his own specific address for each new coin... well but that's doable, isn't it?

Learn to program in CUDA if you want it that bad.  Christian doesn't owe us anything, if anything we owe him.

0.4 BTC is all I made off HVC so far - and that was before everyone else jumped onto HVC with their AMD cards.
So even with this first mover advantage this was NOT a maxcoin event.

It's just not barely worth it anymore. Today the payouts have gone down by factor 4 due to all the AMD miners coming aboard.

We're working on something better now.

Christian

Christian, for great future times to come: Have you ever thought about making new Cudaminer releases fee-based? Seems to work fine for all those miners at ypool.net - nobody has a problem with built-in x% fee for you (as long as x <= 5 I guess), and you would probably benefit much more than mining on your own. If a few hundred people use their miners, and you get, say 4% of what they dig, summed up it should be some nice profit for you! And you don't even have to waste your own power, instead you can concentrate on the next big thing ;-)

What do you think about that?

Greetings from Nuernberg!

No exchange yet I don't think

That's the problem. I too believe that this coin could have huge potential if Christian is doing another masterpiece - but we don't know yet whether the market will accept it...

I think if you can get HeavyCoin to work Christian,  then it's going to be a max coin style event. Nvidia as only capable miners, would be another big profit venture if you can get it to work off their cpu code

Are there any exchanges yet for HeavyCoin? Mined 20 coins on my CPU's today but no idea what the value would be?

So how many of us are going to try and jump on this new coin?

I will surely join in! Btw is anyone trying EXEcoin right now? Am fighting to get optimum cudaMiner results with this coin...

What launch config are we going to be using for the new coin? Might give it a go

You mean Helix or Exe?

Sorry guys just wanted to ask - with the new Nvidia drivers released today (334.89) my hashing performance went down on my 2 machines. Did you have the same experience?

what's the next coin with a new algorithm where nvidia has an edge over ati? Wink

don't know. Find me one with:

a) a large hype about the launch (celebrity coin?)
b) featuring a simple, parallelizable hashing algorithm for which
no GPU miners have been written yet
c) developers only providing CPU miners at or just before the launch date

keep me posted about candidates...

Christian

Hi Christian, how about Riecoin? http://riecoin.org/
Supposed to be launched Tuesday night, a new primecoin algorithm, CPU miners only...

BTC client always re-indexes under Win 8.1
by
JimmyD
on 02/01/2014, 19:52:40 UTC
Well just as the topic says, it is very annoying that my Bitcoin wallet needs to reindex the whole database each time I start it up. This takes hours!
I have made some experiences with some other coins, and I noticed that all wallets that offer to "Detach databases at shutdown" in the configuration settings do not have this problem. So I guess when this is set, before quitting the program there is some flushing or closing of all files (didn't look into the source code, so this is just my assumption).

If my assumption is correct, then enabling this setting in the Bitcoin client would be very helpful. Does anyone know whether this is planned? Would surely help the few Win 8.1 users around here...
