Re: High Frequency Trading

So basically the ones with the most optimized toys get all the goodies in the field? It'll be easy to make profits in the cryptocurrency market if that's the case. I'm pretty sure crypto trading bots already have those elements in their algorithms, although they cannot execute fast enough unlike HFT bots. Tons of optimization would be required to achieve the numbers of what the stock market HFT offers, and it's no easy feat IMO.

Biggest challenge relies on exchanges themselves. They have to propose such technology to let crypto traders act as fast as usual HFT traders do.

Yes, these type of asks are often used now.

But here I'm more asking about how BCT ads are not detected or considered as ads by ad blockers

Because the forum needs money from the majority of people who can't do basic programming to avoid those ads.

You can inspect it, and see what's up. (Because I won't tell you.) I keep my AdBlocker off on BCT, though. The ads are fairly non-intrusive and are only fillers between posts, so what's the big problem?

I have an ad blocker activated even on bitcointalk but I still see those ads. I'm not angry at all ! My question is: how do they do that ? How can they bypass adblockers ? Shocked

Take a look at actual online wallets, such as blockchain.info for instance. Is that possible to create the same type of online website but that allows cold storage wallets creation ?

You all mentioned positive and negatives points so I still dont know what to think.. lol

My opinion was that these services owners were unmoral persons who made profit thanks to criminals, murderers, drug cartels money lauderin wishes..

Do we have proof these services are really used by that type of persons or is that just platforms used by few paranoids geeks or persons who really needs anonymity Huh

This pool created stocks that could distribute mining pool collected fees as dividends to stocks holders

Many ppl talks about it on the internet but I can't find any infos from these stocks since 2015..

I saw that this pool used to sell stocks that allowed investors to be paid with dividends based on mining pools fees profitability.

What happened to these stocks ? I can't find any info about it, it is not mentioned at all on its website, nobody talks about it...

I used to use Havelock Investments in the past. It seems it is not updated anymore...
Cryptostocks allowed users to receive dividends from websites like Multipool for example. Cryptostocks is down.

What are the alternatives to these websites ? How can I invest and then hold shares, not coins and receive dividends from companies ?

Re: [Question] Do big mining pools have benefits ? Are they very profitable ?
by
Jiuks
on 15/09/2016, 14:57:52 UTC
How profitable those pools are? AntPool makes the transaction fee off of every block and so does BTC.com. BCMiner takes a 0.5% cut but pays fees, same with slush except 2% and BitMinter with 1%. Kano.is also pays the tx fees - 0.9%. Do they have benefits? Yes. If you own a large pool, you have a higher chance of winning orphan races (confirming your own block).

If your wondering how profitable the miners are, there isn't an answer to that since electricity fees vary.

Do these major pools earn A LOT of money ? What is the monthly range of benefits they have ? [0;$1000] ? [$1000;$5000] ? [$10000;$20000] ?

(I'm talking about mining pools owners, not miners)

Re: [Question] What does shared fees means ?
by
Jiuks

What does "shared" fees means ?
I found that list https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Comparison_of_mining_pools and for few pools we can see that they "share" their fees. Sorry but I don't get it. What's this ?

A block is 12.5 coins plus the fees for the coins sent inside that block.

Those fees are transaction fees.

The typical block is now 12.75 in size.  .25 which  are the transaction fees.

So if a 12.75 block is found a no fee pool such as antpool pays out 12.5 and keeps the .25 in transaction fees.

Which is really a fee of 2 % or so.

A pool that charges 1 % but shares the transaction fees would keep .1275 of a 12.75 block and pay out

12.625 of that block.

So be careful when you read what is really paid out.

Thanks you for this very clear informations.
