Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion

It looks like there were around 50 million bitcoin days destroyed.
That means that it could be that 1 million coins which were not moved for 50 days could have been transfered somewhere else.

It can also mean that 100.000 coins which were stored for 500 days were suddenly transfered else.

Capiche?

taken from stackexchange.com with 84 upvotez:

"The idea of "bitcoin days destroyed" came about because it was realised that total transaction volume per day might be an inappropriate measure of the level of economic activity in Bitcoin. After all, someone could be sending the same money back and forth between their own addresses repeatedly. If you sent the same 50 btc back and forth 20 times, it would look like 1000 btc worth of activity, while in fact it represents almost nothing in terms of real transaction volume.

With "bitcoin days destroyed", the idea is instead to give more weight to coins which haven't been spent in a while. To do this, you multiply the amount of each transaction by the number of days since those coins were last spent. So, 1 bitcoin that hasn't been spent in 100 days (1 bitcoin * 100 days) counts as much as 100 bitcoins that were just spent yesterday (100 bitcoins * 1 day). Because you can think of these "bitcoin days" as building up over time until a transaction actually occurs, the actual measure is called "bitcoin days destroyed". This is believed to give a better indication of how much real economic activity is occurring on the bitcoin network.

So how well does it work? Well, it's still not perfect, because the other day I moved some coins out of a wallet they've been in for several months without spending them or giving them away. And some genuine businesses have very rapid turnover in bitcoins, so they're not being measured well by this method. But it does do a good job of filtering out the "noise" of bitcoins that are just "bouncing around" without really going anywhere. The graph of overall bitcoin days destroyed is believed to show that the genuine level of activity in the Bitcoin economy is continually increasing--it's not just one person experimenting by rapidly sending the same coins back and forth, flooding the network with meaningless chatter. Looks pretty good, hey? "

Just received my weekly dust and it seems a slight increase to approx 2% of overall gh/s on my account up from 1% in the previous weeks.

can we see a graph please or a pie chart

I have 718 gh/s and the last few weeks the dust has been about BTC0.00055 this week payment was BTC 0.00109550.

On bitcoinwisdom that works out  at 14.76 gh/s which is approx 2% of my total gh/s

but what that in giga BTC?

In my experience when I ran freebieco.in ( It is closed now ). I ran this with marcotheminer. We were in profit everyday.
It was 0.07 profit / day roughly. We stopped this as one of our partners were screwing up the payments.
We used Google AdSense, Adbit.co and A-Ads. It was also a simple microwallet faucet.
Net profit 0.07/day ? That really good income you have there

maybe that why its closed now lol

so the early birds who reached full ROI anyway should get even more? fuck the later customers who need recover the most? wut do u really sit there plinkin at?
I'm not trying to say that at all. In fact, I believe he actually stopped sales right around the time the formula changed to "A - B = C" so then there should be either very few people who paid for contracts under the new payment scheme, or none at all. I'm showing people that he has broken his contract with (possibly) all customers.

he said he delete the old formula post right after, jan 2014 is near beginning of service. the quote is from old time and has nothing to do with insurance dinkerplinker

Does passing out pennies actually protect him from legal action? Or is that just an effect of human nature?

Technically it does protect him somewhat. Like any good scammer, he changed the terms of the contracts. You can see the new formula here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=418183.msg9743464#msg9743464

Quote
A - B = C

Payouts "C" are now whatever PBMining wants them to be. Anyone who bought contracts after that change are screwed.
What about people who purchased contracts before that? When they purchased the contract, there was the following term involved:

Quote from: admin@pbmining.com
Hash power efficiency will never change from what it is now, even if we have technical issues.  Our insurance covers you so that you will always receive the proper payments.

So technically, it looks like he broke his own contract with early purchasers.

After about 5 weeks of receiving nothing I've received payment from pbmining on the last Sunday... As I have only 25GHs it is really dust money but I was pleasantly surprised anyway Cheesy

Do you think he will pay back our Bitcoins???

the refunds and dust payments are fake, he paid them during hard fork so he unspent it
so there has been refunded 0 bitcoins so far
