I am also getting into the BTC market for the first time. A single 330 mh/z block would not yield enough income based on the current difficulty and cost to run it. (There are calculators out there such as this. http://www.bitcoinx.com/profit/ )

From the research I've gathered, you'll need to start with a minimum of 10gh/z and a good pool to sit in. But this is all theory since I have no hardware currently. (This is just my personal opinion and I am far from a pro BTC miner). It also seems that this was a bad time to start seeing as ASIC device prices have skyrocketed (In good reason, BTC went up so does the equipment designed to mine them!)

You can look into cloud hashing solutions if you don't want to have the hardware overhead. (I am looking into both options). Hope this helps guide you some what!

I would suggest making backups of anything related to digital information that you cannot live without if you store it locally. I work in IT and DR (Disaster Recovery) always sucks. Especially when an accountant's PC crashes with the company's books stored on it without telling anyone he stored them locally. Data redundancy is always recommend, also keeping that redundant data up to date. It would suck if you backed up your wallet with 1BTC, receive more and then lose the dive. Your stuck with the 1BTC again.

Seems like a valid site. Too bad they don't take LTC (wanted to cash out instead of exchange for BTC/NMC). The site also looks to be in "Beta"? I'll definitely take the site into account for when I make a decision. Thanks!

Hardware v's Cloud Solutions

Hello Everyone!

I have been mining for a short time for LTC coins (Running 3 XFX Radeon HD 6750) but wanted to expand into the bitcoin market. I see a lot of information for hardware prices and also cloud solutions. Currently I would like to gather hardware to do mining (since I get to control what pool gets my mining fee for using them, I like to be loyal) but wanted to see if anyone has purchased cloud services and would suggest it over acquiring hardware. Currently I don't have a budget set for hardware or cloud services (Will be running the numbers later).

If anyone has used cloud services, which sites/services would you suggest?

If you recommend hardware instead, what small rigs would you suggest to start with?

Thanks in advance!
