Sorry for the late reply, the email notifications got caught up in my spam-box and were having a nice discussion with some pharmaceutical adds before I had to interrupt them.

Not interested, but I think it's really cool that people are looking to sell these things for bitcoins. It shows you have a lot of faith in the currency. Good luck selling!

Thanks for the support man! I've had great experience with Bitcoin in the past, and we really need to sell the plane, so I thought this would be the best route to take!

Might want to list it on http://www.bitpremier.com/

Thanks for the link, I'll post it there later today!

The price looks great, if only I had a reason and the money to own a private jet.
Oh, the dreams...

What better reason than to show anyone flying coach that you're better than them? You would never be bored again! Just fly to LA, or San Diego, or Nepal, or anywhere in the world! (Provided they have a functional airport, of course)

if only a couple of cute senorita flight assistants were included...

PM me and I'll see what I can do Wink (Kidding)

[Selling] Minecon 2013 Ticket
by
JonathanB72
on 14/09/2013, 23:31:43 UTC
Hey guys, I was lucky enough to get my hands on an extra ticket for Minecon 2013 in Orlando, Florida. I already have a ticket, so I decided to do away with this one, and I thought, what better way to do so than to sell it for BTC?

I've only ever done one trade here in the past, which was a (very nice) watch bought by the user Mikej0h, with Graet as the Middleman. That sale worked out great, so I'm back for more.

The idea would be that we would meet in front of the gates at the day of the event, and we go in together. This auction includes a ticket of admittance, and whatever perks come along with it (i.e. Minecon 2013 Cape, etc...).

If you win this ticket, I'd be more than happy to keep the coins in Escrow until the date of the event (November 2nd), in which, once you are admitted into the event, the coins are released to me, and if for some reason the ticket doesn't let you in, the coins are released back to you.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!

The auction starts at BTC7 with minimum increments of at least BTC0.1.

Buy it now price is BTC10.5. This price is only valid while the current bid is less than BTC8. Past that, it goes up by BTC1.

I'm also accepting PayPal from trustful users, with the condition that you pay the processing fee.

http://i.imgur.com/znqyAhO.jpg

The auction ends approximately 5 days and 30 minutes from this posting.

Timer removed. End time: 2013-09-20+00:00:00UTC

Best of luck everyone!

check this out.

https://robocoinkiosk.com/#news

this is essentially a guys Graduate Thesis (he walked with his masters degree the day the conference opened - great story).

They launched at the bitcoin conference in San Jose and it was one of the hits of the show.

This was also popular.

http://www.coindesk.com/lamassu-robocoin-bitcoin-atms-show-their-stuff-in-san-jose/

While regulation will be a hurdle for any bitcoin business these two had product that actually worked, that people were able to use they were both very popular.

Thanks for the tip, I'll definitely check them out.

From what I seem to see, is that people like to have products they can have in their hands at any given moment, so for now, that's our largest priority. As soon as we have a working prototype, I'll be sure to update the site.

There is clearly a need for a self - contained bitcoin point of sale device and if you get it right it could be HUGE!  This is one of the BIGGEST pain point in greater bitcoin adoption, allowing merchants to easily and cheaply accept bitcoin as a form a payment at the point of sale.

(I don't know about you guys but I've seen more then a few Level-up devices popping up around the NYC area so clearly some business are interested in new technology.)

Regarding the google docs: You have a slick website, then you redirect to the google docs to sign up. I just seem a bit amateur  and detracts from the slick website we've just experience.

Finally the whole announcing a product that doesn't exist then asking member to sign up or worse (PAY UP FRONT)  just smacks of scam.

SEE the ongoing debate about BFL and now this SCAM

https://cryoniks.com/#!/app/tech/

It is my opinion that bitcoin business have to launch with a functional, and working product  and if not launch in private beta with friends and word of mouth to test and work out the kinks before you make a PUBLIC announcement.

Otherwise, in my opinion, you are just joining the ranks of other scam businesses or bored developers how banged out a proof of concept that never goes anywhere

See

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=139627.msg1486866#msg1486866

among others.

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense, and I totally agree. The main thing we decided to leave out of the site were the prices. We won't charge anybody a single cent until we actually have a product available that you order and receive in 3-5 business days. We've been checking our budget, and maybe if we can get enough funding (From private investors, not from donations), we won't have to charge anything, period. So far, each device costs about $80 to make, but if we can cut the price in half, we may be able to give these machines out for free and just pay them back slowly with the percentage we take.
We're not going to send out a single email either until we actually have all the equipment to set up the prototype.

We don't want to come out looking like a scam, that's why we don't have a single donate link, no place to put in a pre order, or anything that would allow you to send money to us. The project may require some funding later on once production starts, but that will be private funding and not donation based crowd funding.

As for the proof of concept, just the fact that people actually signed up for updates is already proof enough in and of itself, we know there is a market for this type of technology (As you mentioned, a good example is Level-up), we just wanted to know if we could fit into it, and so far the results say yes.

Also, thanks for the insight on why not google docs, you're very right, and I hadn't seen it that way. I'll be sure to change it as soon as I can.

You could just make your own signup page with a MySQL (or SQLite) database behind it.

Very good point, I feel pretty stupid for not thinking of that, actually...

Jonathan,

Thanks for your response.    I'm not trying to discourage new bitcoin businesses but if you are serious about your business you have to at least have to connect it to a real world person.  This give you credibility and also hopefully makes you more accountable.

(ie. Whether or not BFL is a scam - we know who they are and should users chose to do so they can pursue them legally.)

I wrote the following post before reading your response but I'll leave it here for posterity.

Good luck with your endeavor.

BCB

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

The problem with too many bitcoiners is they are (probably) well meaning hobbyists who see the limitless possibilities of the protocol (as we all do). But what that fail to realize is that they are essentially opening financial service business which mean you are responsible for the custody of other peoples' funds (not to mention laws and regulation in every country not only in which they operate but in which they also have customers).

And as we've seen toooooo often in the community are Business come along  and provide a popular service that starts on a $5/month shared server that grows to control hundreds of thousand or even millions of dollars of value.

Then it gets hacked, or a nefarious owns absconds with the funds or the inexperienced ownership just make bad business decisions and everyone is FUCKED

See:

Bitcoin Savings and Trust (HA!)
Bitcoinica.com
Mybitcoin.com
bitcoin-24.com
bitmarket.eu
GLBSE.com
CryptoxChange.com
Bitfloor.com

etc.
etc.
etc.

And to my knowledge (to date) not one bitcoin business or business owner has been civilly or criminally prosecuted nor has a DIME of user funds been recovered.  EDIT (sorry in my hyperbole: this may not be true. I do know bitcoin some of these business have returned fiat but to my knowledge much of of the BTC value remains unavailable.)

Wake up people!!!

Bitcoin is not play money.

This makes a lot of sense, thank you. The way we're trying to go about this, is to make it a point that we will NEVER be in control of anybody's money. Our devices literally create a QR code to request a transaction to a bitcoin address, and then check if the transaction was received by checking for the transaction ID. You input your wallet address, and close the connections, so there's no way to change where the transactions are received (for better or for worse).

I'll be sure to update it with more info on myself and who we are.

One more question, if you don't mind my asking, what would you recommend we use instead of google docs? You had previously stated that it was very discouraging, and I wish to make it as easy as possible to sign up.

hmmm,
The website is pretty.

Sign up leads to a google doc form, (NOT ENCOURAGING)

Domain name it private. (somewhat suspect)

Thanks, we tried to make the website as nice as possible.

As for google docs, any recommendations on what we should use instead? This is the first time I've made a signup form and am not too experienced in the matter, any advice helps.

The domain name privacy is only while we set everything up. We don't have offices at the moment, so it's based out of my house, and I don't really want everybody on the internet knowing where I live (for now at least). Once we get a more public location and a number (toll free, of course) then we're releasing everything.

We need more transparency in bitcoin.

Who are you.  Why should we trust you.  What do you offer that we can't already get.   Where do our bitcoin go.  How do we know we will receive the bitcoins or the fiat, etc, etc, etc.

I completely agree with the transparency statement, so I'll try to be as open as possible.

My name is Jonathan Bunt, and I'm a student in Austin, Texas. I decided against making an account solely for the purpose of BitProcessors precisely for the manner. If you wish to speak to me, my Skype is included in my account information. I am a long time (late 2012) Bitcoin enthusiast and wish to help make it more accessible.

What we offer is a processing Terminal, sort of like a credit card swiper, but specifically for use with Bitcoin. We're currently making a prototype, so not even I have more info as to the specifics for the time being.

You really shouldn't trust a random stranger on the internet, which is why I'm willing to give out my information. If you order a device from us, we'll make sure to go through all the legal aspects with you, and may even go as far as to give you my home address and phone number if you seem trustworthy so that you can reach us at any time.

The bitcoins would go to either an online wallet of your choosing, to your exchange account where they get transferred to fiat, or to the device itself.

You know you receive the payment, because at no time do we touch your coins. How it works is you input your own address (leading to an exchange or whatever you like) when you receive the device. Then, anytime anyone wants to pay with BTC, you input the final price on a keypad, the device makes a transaction address with a multiple recipient, we take a percentage of the amount sent and you get the rest. You then get a confirmation when the specified amount of confirmations are reached (Normally 0 for anything less than $100 or so). At no point do we ever access your wallet or your private addresses.

[Bounty 1,2+ BTC] Raspberry Pi compatible wallet. More info inside.
by

I'm looking for a developer willing to help me make a Raspberry Pi compatible Wallet with a few extra features. Mainly, I need it to run on a Raspberry Pi (Obviously), send a notification to some sort of screen when it receives a payment (Pre customizable to 0,2,3,5, || 6 confirmations). It also needs to be able to make a payment request (i.e. I input 10BTC and it makes a QR code than can ask for 10 BTC to the receiving wallet). The last thing we need, is for it to be able to make simple recurring payments. If you comment, I'll send you a message with EVERY detail we need and our budget.

Please post a comment if you are interested, and I'll PM you with the specifics.

I have a flexible budget, so post and don't feel embarrassed to ask for more, and we can try to reach a compromise.

Best regards,
-Jonathan

(Also, on an unrelated note, I'm looking for a good web designer/developer, no experience really needed, you just need to be able to code in HTML and CSS. Ask for more info if you want any.)

Good evening everybody!

I'm selling another watch, this time it's a Reddit Timescale Watch by Cadence with a gift box, as seen here:
http://cadencewatch.com/reddit-watch

The watch currently goes for $125 USD, and the giftbox is an additional $5 USD.

As a starting price, how does BTC0.85 sound?

Here is a picture of the watch and the box.

Once again, the watch has never been worn, and will be shipping from Austin Texas at your convenience.

I'm trying to get a Bitcoin startup rolling, but need a bit of information over the market before I can do anything.

If you guys can take this quick survey (Literally less than 2 minutes (It's only 4 questions)) you'll be entered into a drawing for a BTC prize (Yet to be determined how much). The more people complete it, the bigger the reward. Please send it to your friends and families (And for those who need an incentive, just tell them to put in your wallet address to increase your own chances of winning)!

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/86MKFSP

There's a spot at the end of the survey to enter your address in.

Seriously interested.
Where is it shipped from?
Willing to sell with Escrow?

I'm bidding, if it's in the state you are writing: 1.4BTC

It would ship from Austin, Texas with whatever whipping you want (most likely covered by me)

I would definitely be willing to accept Escrow, I'll set it up and get back to you shortly.
