$4.8MM in new longs on finex over last 24hrs  Cry that's the only thing that can stop us $35MM long squeeze

Down to under $32MM again though, even though I can't imagine traders have ditched $3MM again in that short time with that volume.
These strange spikes seem to happen more often. Any idea what might be causing them?
Alts, lol... Possible some are ditching their altcoins to reinvest in btc in anticipation of the halving, (not wanting to risk missing out should btc soar) and most of us hope and believe btc will rise as we get closer to July... I mean, for example, why sit on a ton of Eth, when you feel btc will rise significantly...  Grin (Eth always drops as btc goes up...) so it seems.

I mean the spikes in longs (USD denominated) only on Bitfinex...
Often millions of dollars in longs get opened, without the volume in BTC/USD markets to support it. The only way I can see this happening is if the numbers point for all borrowed USD's across all markets.

Could that be the case?

Highest bid on BIT is now 400 USD for a coin. And nobody is selling yet...

This does sound like good news, but there's a problem...

As the Twitter message mentions, people that have held their 'shares' for 12 months or more can now sell.
I cannot find how many BTC Grayscale holds, but it can never be a lot.

This makes for a problem, as the volume can never be higher than the amount of shares/BTC that has been held for more than 12 months.

This volume is probably not even 1% of the daily traded volume on current exchanges, which means at the moment this is still useless to institutional investors.

This doesn't correspond with what a lot of people still seem to be expecting, which is crossing down to $225 once more before a new rise/rally.
I don't hope we go sub 266, because I think it might actually change sentiment a lot more than some people think (and not in a good way)

did anyone check the temp, to see if the cards are using more power? they should if the miner is really more optimized

also more consumption

I'm using it on two HD7950's and the power consumption is around the same, give or take 10W.
Mh/s and WU seems higher. The pool I'm using hasn't entirely made up its mind about whether or not the figures are actually true...

Edit:
I just rented my own rig at Betarigs for 3 hours so I can use the graphs that get displayed there.
Will let you know whether or not the reported Mh/s is higher than usual.

Hello,

Just a question about a guy with account aqlbvvlb@10mail.org
He has been renting my rig and not paying for the second time already just to get me out of the price charts...
What can be done about this?

Hey Jos-T,

I just ordered accessories last night to run about 500-1000 (some components I bought for 500 units, some were cheaper and I went ahead and got 1000). I tried to order as much as I could from North America so that we will likely receive mostly everything we need sometime next week. I am planning on making an order next weekend for the miners.

I would like to go ahead and get an order in the next couple days, however some of the accessories might not have arrived by the time we receive the Gridseeds, so I'd rather wait to be sure that we have everything we need to get started. I am buying them from a reputable company in the USA to negate the risk of getting scammed, also shipping time will be short and is expected to only take 3 days. My guess is the first batch will be up and hashing in about a week and a half. After all the accessories get in, previous batches can be ended as soon as there are enough units ordered.

Thanks

Expected would be somewhere in the first half of April then?  Wink

Is it also possible to do the DIY solution with less than 50 units (I'm interested in 10-30, haven't decided yet). This because it will need it's on Raspberry Pi to control it, while it could actually be hooked up to 50 according to your OP.

Are there any uses for cagecoin at present?
Such as services, games, gambling etc...?

If that's not the case. The services have to come or this coin will stay at a value of almost nothing

I'm pretty interested in letting you host 10 of these.
If I'm correct this will give me around 3.0-3.3MH/s hash rate in grid seed scrypt miners?
If I were to order in the coming 1-2 days and send you the BTC payment directly, what is the ETA for the miners to be running?
I would prefer the 'do-it-yourself'-solution.

Thanks for any answer!

CGWatcher will do just that.

You can set it up to reboot it automatically every hour, let it reboot the miner only if no shares get accepted anymore and lots of stuff in between!  Smiley

Re: GPU Jumping 50-100% usage!?!??!?!
by

on 16/02/2014, 21:15:15 UTC
You're welcome!

Just remember that this increases the power limit from 100% to 120%, meaning that the average power consumption is now allowed to be 20% higher. You will notice this when monitoring the temperatures of the GPU, but if everything is cooled well, this shouldn't be a problem.

The throttling (going to 64% periodically) was done to stay under 100% average power.

Shows as unconfirmed, yes.
Also, all other transactions show 'sent to xx nodes', with xx being a number. The one that is frozen doesn't show that.
It just shows 0/unconfirmed

I'm actually having the same problem. It's only a tiny amount in my case, but I payed the 1mBTC fee, which is considered to be standard.
No info on the blockchain and no confirmations..

Looked around on the internet, but can't find any solutions TBH  Embarrassed

Re: [ANN] BETARIGS.COM - Cryptocurrency cloud mining - We need more keccak rigs!

on 13/02/2014, 20:33:26 UTC
This is not the first time I have posted in this thread. After my first rent I posted to thank Mux for the great service it was at the time and that I had recieved my payment.

After now having leased my rigs for almost 0.3BTC, I would like to share some thoughts on betarigs.

- It is still childishly easy to rent or lease a rig, which is awesome.
- It's good that it is now possible to select what hashing algorithm you want to search for.
- And I can go on about more additions the last few day that have been just great. Every few hours an improvement seems to have been done to the website.

A few things that might be nice to work on:
- Multiple rigs on 1 BTC address, even though I couldn't care less (probably been mentioned before, could be a trouble for some people)
- Display the cost/Mh/day in mBTC as the number would be easier to grasp. The 0.0xxx is quite weird.
- Change the cost/Mh/day for SHA-3 to mBTC/GH/day as this would actually make it readable, instead of having 0.0000 or 0.0001 as the only comparison Tongue
- Make it possible to have switchable profiles for a rig when not being rented. This would mean I can set the SHA-3 profile with 2 clicks and after the rent set it to Scrypt again with 2 clicks. I now have to manually edit the name and description of the rig every time I would like to switch.

This is by no means being critical, just sharing some possible ideas for the future.

Hope you keep up the good work, I'll gladly keep making use of the betarigs service!

Thanks!

Just came in to share my experience with Betarigs.

A few weeks ago I heard about the idea by visiting the leaserig.net website, but that was just way too user unfriendly. After that, I got no response from the admin when I asked for some help regarding the issues. Betarigs seemed a lot easier.

I have rented my first rig for 24 hours and the system works perfectly! Minutes after reservation, my rig got payed for and the software swithced to mining for the guy/gal who leased my rig. The payment just arrived and this shows up on the site aswell.

I will certainly lease more rigs on this website if the price is right!

Combining AMD GPU's in miner
by

Hello all,

Because of power usage I would like to combine different cards in one rig.
I read some stuff about it on the internet, but I can't find a definitive answer.

Is it possible to use a R9 270 and a R9 280X in the same rig and have cgminer configure the cards seperately?
Will installing the drivers give me any problems?

Thanks in advance!
