Spam and trolling Differing opinions and dissent will continue to be removed, but it is not a crime to come here from SA, merely shameful and embarrassing. Maybe these newcomers will bring with them some interesting and useful ideas, which our community will promptly ignore as it has done so many times in the past.

Fixed that for ya.

No, we should all be thanking SA!!!  THEY did all the due diligence on Bruce Wagner that none of us ever did.

We may not like what they found, but don't shoot the messenger!  Many people are crying "witch-hunt," but if you actually take the time to read all of the information they've dug up, you'll see that there are many, many issues that make Bruce Wagner appear to be a serial fraudster.

What really disgusts me, is the heavy handed censorship that is now taking place, burying all the Bruce Wagner articles and deleting the rest.  Not that it has had much credibility in the last few weeks anyway, but bitcointalk is now pretty much a seething pile of fraud and scammers, and any real discussion or dissent is immediately wiped out.  Sad, really.  Whatever happened to the "free-market" and "libertarian ideals?"

If anyone at SA is reading this, I'd be happy to donate some money to your forums.  Of course, only if you accept bitcoins!

Its funny, right after, as in very next day his SECOND time through a " day of deals"  his site is down..

He still hasnt shipped out FROM THE FIRST day of deals..

People..

We have been scammed.. time to realize it

As someone who only two weeks ago was defending BTCdeals, I agree that this pattern is wildly suspicious.  At this point I consider myself scammed.  I did place one successful order, but as pointed out, that must have been one of the early trust building transactions.  My second order, placed just before the first day of deals, still hasn't arrived.

My apologies, to edasvangen in particular.

sublimnl, how is it going? shouldn't you be getting out old orders before you start up the website again? Huh

You *clearly* have no idea how his site actually works.  BTCdeals takes your order.  Once payment is confirmed, BTCdeals sends your order info to some factory in China (seriously!) where they drop-ship the item directly to you.  The Chinese shipper likely has thousands of orders in the queue that they go through fulfilling.  Even after it is shipped from China, it still takes quite a while for the item to make it though customs, then travel across the pacific in a freakin' boat!

If you can't be patient, you just shouldn't be ordering from BTCdeals...

Two weeks later, I now am of the opinion that BTCdeals is a scam.  My first order went through, the second seems to have been a scam.

I ordered a pair of these and they showed up in the mail yesterday.  They are damn bright!  Also, take note that they are very directional thanks to some internal Fresnel lenses.  They actually make a reasonably well formed circle like 20' away!

Bad deal

user: SHIFT

SHIFT offered to sell me a PSP battery that was, in his words, "working and brand new."  I paid the equivalent of ~$15 in BTC (1.7).  The battery that arrived was broken and in no sort of original packaging.  SHIFT clearly had broken one of the small, plastic tabs off that hold the battery in place.  It also seems he tried to pry the battery open judging from the scratch marks along the side.  SHIFT most likely tried to mod the battery into a Pandora battery or similar. In the process he broke off the plastic tab and bricked the battery. He then proceeded to sell it to me without conscience.

Took just about 8 weeks for my order to arrive.  I placed another order a few weeks after the first, so it should be arriving any day.

He was pretty clear that items were dropped shipped from China!

Two weeks later, I now am of the opinion that BTCdeals is a scam.  My first order went through, the second seems to have been a scam.

[WTB] ---> PSP <---

So, anyone looking to unload their PSP?  I don't particularly care how old or new it is.  It must be in working order and have the cables though...

I really just want something (with buttons) to play all my NES roms on.  I've seen dedicated players, like the Gemei on Bitcoin Deals today, but I figure a used PSP would be just as cheap and capable of playing some more modern games too.  I just can't get into playing these games on my Droid without buttons, and I don't want to carry around a WiiMote or some other controller.

Thanks!

Is the fee per book, or by the total cost?  If I bought two books, each that cost $10, would you charge 0.5BTC (total less than $90) or 1BTC (two books, each under $90)?

Do you think you'll ever get tall sizes?

Any luck on the brand of hoodie used?

3.25 is pretty pricey, so I'd really like to know it is going to fit!

Re: Why Is There Such Desperation To Earn Bitcoins?
by
Joscience
on 21/06/2011, 02:17:25 UTC
Spamming your friends on Facebook to earn 0.1BTC seems just as desperate as anything else I've seen...

The non-snarky answer is that I really think it boils down to participation.  Bitcoin is new, interesting, and for better or worse, a little "trendy."  Being part of the Bitcoin economy is worth a discount to these people who are offering their services at what seem to be too-low prices.  Add to that a sense of "investment," and I am confident all these people feel they are being fairly compensated.  I don't honestly think your offer to post someone's website address on your Facebook in exchange for Bitcoins is desperate.  I *do* think it is an easy way to maybe get a few Bitcoin without having to go through the hassle of setting up an exchange account or taking the risk of sending someone dollars for Bitcoin. I agree with other people who feel it is more unbridled enthusiasm than desperation.  Maybe their posts are a little melodramatic, but they just want to be part of the community!

As to the begging, well, yeah, that gets old:
