OK, all claims from Tales from the Scrypt have been paid IN FULL.

I received 37,425.60 coins from Tales.

I received claims for 63,500 coins.

Now you might think, "Well, you just figure out the ratio and each person gets about 59% of the amount they claimed."

Well screw that.  Thanks to the Insane Coin Posse EVERYONE got paid 100% of their claim.  That's just how we roll.

It's sad, but it appears that this exchange is indeed a scam, and a lot of coins are unintentionally marketing it on behalf of the scammers by listing it in their threads.

Since launching this coin, I have gained a whole new perspective on the level of scamming that goes on in the alt community.  I am literally approached by a different scammer every single day -- fake exchange reps, fake marketing services, fake exchanges, etc.

And even when the services themselves are 100% legit like Tales from the Scrypt, if those people fall prey to scammers, we can inadvertently lead our folks into traps.

I'm not sure what my point is but this stuff just pisses me off.  So just be careful.  Just because a site looks legit doesn't mean that it is.  Use escrow services when possible.  With something like an exchange, do small test deposits, trades, AND WITHDRAWLS first.  And even then, be careful.  Reputation is an important guide, as it is often all that someone has to lose in this world.  A site like Mintpal, for example, is unlikely intentionally steal 10 BTC from you because you could publicize it and do far more damage than that to their business.  But if a site or an individual doesn't have a reputation to worry about, they have nothing to lose.

I did a little research and found 2 threads from the past couple of days saying that Coinopend is a scam.

At the moment, I'm dealing with getting refunds back to people who lost coins at Tales from the Scrypt.  About 40,000 coins to deal with.

It's time-consuming and not glamorous or buzz-generating, but Juggalo Coin is about taking care of family.  Seriously, how many other coins out there do shit like that?  Or like buying up dumped coins and giving them away to our community?  Maybe some, but not many.

Also, things happened faster than anticipated.  Fork came sooner with the monster hashing power thrown at us.  Get listed on Poloniex sooner than I expected.

That's all good stuff, but it means that we have a little lull before more big news.

The person I had working on it has stopped responding.  Will find someone else today.

It is wrong that you are being forced to buy into IPO's.  That's horrible.  Do they put a gun to your head to make you buy in?

Be sure to check the post by tygarbyte below yours.  Should be helpful.

Worst case, you could leave them in the exchange for now.  It is a risk, though, as hackers often target exchanges.  Over the past year, my estimation is that about 2-3% of exchanges have been hacked.  (If you believe that they were actually hacked and not victims of inside jobs.  But it doesn't really matter for this discussion as the coins are gone either way.)

We should be able to provide you some additional options soon.

In the meantime, keeping them at an exchange is not a bad option if you don't have any others.  

That's our goal.

And as anyone who has been following this from the beginning can testify, our marketing plan is pretty much going in exactly the way I laid it out.  So I think there's a good chance you'll be able to spend JUG's at Gathering of the Juggalos.

A couple of things that have caused me problems in the past with other coins:

-Be sure that the name of the conf file is all lower case.

-If you created the conf file with notepad, it may stick a hidden "txt" extension on it, so that its juggalocoin.conf.txt

Change your settings so that all file extensions all visible to check this out.
