Re: [2018-08-25]WeChat, Alipay to Block Crypto Transactions on Payment Platforms
by

This is actually a huge issue.

Essentially, now, Wechat has the power to ban any accounts which is suspected of crypto dealings. This is probably worse than even the ICO and exchange bans that we saw previously. It's a direct shot at the p2p exchange activity that is going on on platforms such as LBC.

It will be interesting to see what Chinese bitcoin users and traders will use in the future, after this official statement comes out. Perhaps, there will be a reversion to offline p2p trading, with either cash or bank transfers as the medium. But with China becoming increasingly cashless, having Wechat actively trying to flag transactions is definitely detrimental to users there.

That is right. The crytpo is not illegal in China by the law. So it is not right to ban the transaction. ICO is not legal.

Re: Is NOW the best time to buy or enter in bitcoin?
by

No, its not the best time. Because the price of bitcoin right now is going dump. Wait for the right time to rise up again. Patience is the best right now.

It is better to wait until the bitcoin becomes stable and resume the upward trend.

Suddenly from all sides praises and good words started to appear for Ethereum. This shows something is being boiled under all this changed environment recently. Most significant pleasant change came from Chinese govt where they ranked Ethereum no.1 and most innovated and usable blockchain. Nothing can stop it now anymore once it starts rally.

They ranked it high as they do not like the Bitcoin as a currency. If the Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash can also be used as the gas for smart contract, they will be ranked higher.

Re: Gateless Gate Sharp 1.3.5: Now with memory timing mods and X16R/X16S!
by

Count me in soon. I still have an issue with the mem/timing/core tweaks. If it freezes the hardware, how and when can we be sure it worked ?

What I would do as a stress test is to run benchmarks with Repeats = 10 or even 20.
Statistically speaking, you need 100 trials for a 95% CI, but that would be too much stress on the hardware
and the results would be unfavorably skewed. If you are masochistic, you can turn on "Cool GPU down,"
which makes the test notoriously harder to pass.

On a more positive note, I just added extra parameters for memory timings to the upcoming version
for stability. We will see...

Will memory timing mod work on old drivers like 15.12 or 16.9.2?

At this price it's a good deal. You can mine ETN $83/day so it's a one month ROI. ETN will fork only this summer. And later will be XMC and XMO that will stay ASICs friendly

I think XMC and XMO will not survive in the long term. They are just there to help sell ASIC.

I like that the ethereum not so much in percentage as other coins and the fact that the team is constantly working on a project

If they change PoW algorithm to be more ASIC avert, then the price of ETH could rise again.

Unholy crap Batman! The sky is falling! Should we panic too? I love to watch calamity like this don't you? Those whom wanted a low price to get in cant say they didn't get a chance. Glad I don't have to work today so I can watch. So much better than Reality TV. Of course I may not have any electricity very much longer as I am now broke. Does anyone know where the soup line is in Cincinnati? I do have some gently used crypto for sale if any one is interested but I wont hold my breath for that...

What do you mean by "gently used crypto". Is that just mined, not tainted during the usage?

Ethereum is waiting for its moment.
As a cryptocurrency with the most advanced technology and usage, Ethereum's future is promising...

I started mining ethereum when it was $11, believing it is a great technology. And now I see how it changed the industry just for the last year - hundreds of ICOs, thousands of people found themselves and found the opportunity to make something they dreamed about with the help of the crowdfunding.

I believe 2018 will be much bigger.

I hope we will find more applications for ETH next year.

In 5 years, the world will be divided between countries that are trying, without success, baning Cryptocurrency, and the ones that have regulated or accept without restriction. The ones that go first and give the chance for the people choose their own destiny and what they want to do with their own money, would be the ones leading the financial and commercial markets.

That is right. In 10 years, most countries will adopt bitcoin.

Re: Bitcoin Gold & GPU Mining?
by

on 28/10/2017, 09:39:07 UTC
Hi There, I'm not that expert in mining or not related to as I don't have that much money to buy powerful ASIC machines to mine bitcoins...

But, according to btcgpu.org Bitcoin Gold is for GPU miners.  Grin and that can really mine a lot of money using GPU's right?
How much money they can make with AMD RX580 8GB? Seems like a noob type question but really interested to know...
  Roll Eyes

Who knows until it happens. It is being announced as equihash, so a computer could possibly handle it. It depends on many factors. The very fact that it is being put out there as a fork will give it some following and that could mean a lot of mining. The announcements seem to push people to trade and buy, but until that moment there is no telling what the diff will be, the value, or anything.

The developer is not very competent. So it might not happen.

I'm curious too as to what the profits are gonna be with GPU mining Shocked I guess we'll have to wait after the 25th of October to know?

Yes, I guess too. And maybe BTG price will be same as BTC and if that happens that will be goldmine for GPU miners. Because I will purchase 4x AMD 580 then and start making money haha...  Grin

Is there any pool for GTG?

One mre time, the Ethereum difficulty is growing hard since a few hours : from 2350 to more 3000 in less 24 hours...
Such power increase over Ethereum mining and a so low price since weeks : what is the explanation ? No new good hardware from AMD or nVidia...

For real?  You guys mine but don't follow the news and know when difficulty rises come and updates and such?

Jeez.

dont mind him, generally when people add nothing to a thread and just regurgitate what others said its just sig spam, i just put those guys on ignore, they are worthless here Cheesy

How do you guys think next months dif DECREASE will effect tho? word is with reduced reward, dif will also drop 50%

Profit will be similar.

But payouts will equalize downwards as 90%+ people won't be taking their rigs offline.  When Ethereum profitability goes down, everything else goes down.

I always say this exactly, other coins were very valuable because eth was very valuable. Now if eth goes down, all other coins go down cause eth was the coin making other coins to be very valuable.

I agree with that. The ETH is the leader of the altcoin.
