Comments? Dont know about the validity of the source and I also know MtGox lost its database long ago, this could be just another copy of that. The IRC history leads me in that direction since the guys says "yes is old" and "new document not so many".
Smells like BS.

So this means when MtGox starts up again people will drain it, slowly, of all the funds. The only way people will stay is if they start to provide something new, like some kind of interest rate or something else.
I harshly agree, ever watched Highlander? Immortals really have a differant concept of time, Mark's not immortal, he thinks he is though, So lets calculate at His time Multiply by three?
I relatively agree with your agreement, but only because time is relative. Relative to what? Well, to Mark ofc.
I think relative Mark-time is one decimal point. So, if you think "days", then in Mark-time it is "weeks". If you think "weeks", then the Mark-time relativity states "months".

I think we should look at this from another perspective. In Mark Krabapples dreamland he is immortal. Immortal people tend to have a different estimation of time compared to the rest of us.
So the question you should ask your self is, how fast does time pass for the immortal Mark Krabapples? I think we need to write some software to show people how Mark-Time works.

Re: Why is blockchain.info & competitors telling us the news about MtGox
Next up... burger king have a statement about mcdonalds
Why? Cause Mark is a horrible CEO. He has no idea what he is doing in that seat. If I had my way I would send him to business school just to see him fail.
Quote: " At this point 744,408 BTC are missing due to malleability-related theft which went unnoticed for several years."
I fail to see how such a loss which was, as far as I can see, directly related to the malleability issue that MtGox didn't take into account when writing their wallet system, can be considered "theft". If you're sending out more coin than you should be, all on your own, how can the recipient be considered a thief? You gave them to him.
I agree in the rest of that quote except for that 1 word. Perhaps gifting a thesaurus to the originator of that quote would be in order?
=squeak=
Is it illegal to drive past the speed limit, even when the police are not watching? What has been done is abusing a system for economical gain, very illegal in most countries.

Re: Mtgox lost 744,408 BTC due to malleability-related theft!!!
In the paper it says: "The cold storage has been wiped out due to a leak in the hot wallet".
How is this possible???. Are they coupled?. Or is it a huge theft by Mark Karpeles???
Has someone an answer for this?
Hot Pocket held, about, 2% of all BTC. So, if the Hot Pocket (wallet) was less then 2% it was topped off by the Frigid Wallet.
Yes, but not automatically, otherwise it would not be a cold (frigid) wallet by definition, or am i wrong?
Its all about definition. Some one or some thing updated the Hot Pocket with new coins from the Frigid Wallet. If it was a dedicated hardware, a person, software, whatever... doesnt matter. The thing doing the transfers did not take notice.

Man, how do you accidentally lose three-quarter million bitcoins and not notice. It's like sleeping through Hiroshima and not noticing anything different when you wake up.
