Glad to see this is starting to pick up again, I was a supporter since the beginning of the original development team of Coino, but they went MIA so now it's OUR coin!

For everyone who has been asking about the premine as of late...

Its located at this address:
UPRYB2QbDTq6rXT6TyfyRj1HxmGHnqiypB

And the current balance is:
1973755 CON

It has not moved since January 25th.

Thanks for tracking it down, I didn't think they'd spend it anyways, probably waiting for the value to go up or maybe they really are just putting the project on hold for a little while. I just want them to deliver on the roadmap...

It's not Mastercard or Visa you deal with directly, you go to an issuer to make the cards. I could make a Mastercard that says "cumbucket" on it and still not even talk to mastercard.

Issuer's are licensed by Visa or Mastercard to issue cards.  You could make prepaid cards through an issuer and many have done that before.  But, that isn't what the roadmap promised.  It made specific mention of you putting Coino into an account and then as the transaction happens it converts and pays.

To accomplish the roadmap, you would need to be an issuer.  That does mean dealing with Mastercard and having a substantial volume.  When all the Coino in the world is worth $25,000USD it going to be hard to raise the application fee.

I suggest you just call up Mastercard and become an issuer.  The world will beat a path to your door when you do.

Let me know how that goes for you.

That's not how Mr Coino explained how it would work to me.

1. You would deposit Coino into the online wallet, which would have a payment gateway
2. The online wallet through the gateway would then communicate to the payment provider Mr Coino mentioned they already have, who would then convert COINO-USD
3. Your Master/Visa card would be linked to the online wallet which is linked to the payment provider
4. Swipe the card in any POS machine which will communicate the transaction to your online wallet, which will automatically convert COINO-USD via the provider.

I probably didn't explain it very well but that's the gist of it.

Who here knows Visa/Mastercard or has contacts with them so that a deal can be brokered, as the whole point of the visa/mastercard card system is the ability to be used worldwide.

If we can get this working, this will be killer. It would go right at bitcoin's throat.

Someone, somewhere must have the ability or the connections to be able to set this up. I dont have any such connections, but if I had, they would have been invoked already.

There are a bunch of reasons why this will never, ever happen.  Not the least of which is the fact that digital currency is a direct competitor of Visa and Mastercard.  Anyone dreaming of a day when coino cards carry a Visa or Mastercard logo can just stop.  It simply won't happen.

If you need a longer list of compelling reasons why this was never realistic, PM me.

It's not Mastercard or Visa you deal with directly, you go to an issuer to make the cards. I could make a Mastercard that says "cumbucket" on it and still not even talk to mastercard.

So you're just as stuck with this as the rest of us? I'd assume you couldn't move forward with this POS system without the coino cards right?

Well, not exactly.  See... I don't think there ever were "Coino cards" like the roadmap promised.  I mean it sounded good and its somewhat where I got the idea to use Coino for the POS machine... but the dev's coino cards don't exist.  They really can't as they explained them.  They were to be magic debit cards based in Germany that just happen to work everywhere in the world.  That isn't possible.  You can't even take a debit card from Canada to the USA and have it work, much less one from overseas.

I wish they had never listed it as part of the roadmap.  It only confuses matters.  Its almost worth switching the POS project over to a different coin just to get away from it!

I have a stack of Coino Cards sitting beside me now, but they have nothing to do with the Dev and their roadmap.  They are cards we created to work with our machine.  They don't work anywhere but our machines and never will.  There is no magic in them, they are just cards that contain either a magstrip that equates to a stored private key or a chipcard that holds an actual private key.

The POS machine just gets that information to the backend server which then does the transactions on (or off) the blockchain.

The simplest way to consider the POS is as a mobile wallet that only holds the keys as long as the card is inserted.  It is PCI compliant in that if you attempt to disassemble the unit to modify it / hack it to insert something to read those keys as they pass through, it destroys the shared key and can no longer communicate with the server.

Thats the same as modern day Visa and Mastercard POS machines.  If you mess with them, they don't work anymore.

It would be simplest if the old dev simply disappeared and didn't come back.  If they do, they will no doubt lie some more about their idea of "coino cards" that don't exist.  That will only further confuse matters.

I did try several times to talk with the dev about the project.  I wanted their blessing and wanted them on board.  I thought it would be a nice way for them to deliver on their roadmap.  But, they have never responded to any of my attempts.  The backend server is up and running and processing transactions without any input from them.

If there is never any input from the dev again... it won't affect the project.

Any coin that offers the low transaction time that Coino does would be ideal for the POS project.  Coino just happens to be the one I picked back when it looked like it was going someplace.  Now that its dead in the water, it just makes getting more Coino a lot cheaper to play around with the project.  I do regret when we purchased $500 of coino to have a pile to play with as we work on this project.  But that is a drop in the bucket compared to the equipment investment!

If our project takes off... and big if... stays using Coino, it would no doubt add value back into Coino.

There is already a similar project that does this with Bitcoin.  The idea isn't really new.  Its about doing it faster and cheaper while also making the equipment good for something other than digital currency.  I believe doing those three things better than the original POS project will make this a winner.

Well that's not exactly true about the coino cards not working world wide. It would be a Mastercard issued card which would work with any mastercard POS system, which is world wide. I'm with TD Canada Trust and if I went somewhere like Australia, TD offers a world wide service so I can use my card at any ATM/POS system, for a fee of course. I also wanted to do something with Coino but the Devs haven't gotten back to me yet after I initially shared my idea with them.

I wouldn't say Coino is dead YET, I'm waiting until the first week of April to see if they deliver on their roadmap timeline with the online wallet and payment gateway.

Is this POS for coino only or will it be good for multiple coin types?

Its being developed and tested to work with Coino.  Nothing would stop it from working with the flavor of the week coin type as long as you added support to the back end system.

Think of it as a different kind of exchange, the same steps that allow an exchange to add another coin type will allow another coin type on the machine.

The reason Coino was picked to be first was simply about the transaction speed.  Waiting around ten or twenty minutes for bitcoin just doesn't work.  Thirty seconds isn't all that bad...

Even with a slow coin - you just have to decide if you are willing to trust a transaction to complete without waiting around for it.  For low value, maybe you do.  In the current design, most transactions are instant and only those that fall outside of the "trust rules" wait to be fully processed on the blockchain.

So you're just as stuck with this as the rest of us? I'd assume you couldn't move forward with this POS system without the coino cards right?

If you want to go dark for a week like that throw 10 BTC at Cryptsy and ensure it's added. Right now we're falling with no net...

Reality check... all the coino in the world is currently worth $29,200 USD.  The entire premine is currently worth only 10BTC.  Of course with the current buy support, selling the premine to generate the BTC isn't actually possible.  There is only 1-2BTC available and to get it you have to tank the price down in the sub-100 level.

They're a multi-million dollar marketing company based in Germany with locations all over Europe...

I am very surprised that no one here has bought votes at https://www.cryptsy.com/coinvotes  I read a lot of complaining in this thread about the price going down from lack of interest. Don't you know it needs to hit bigger exchanges to generate more interest? That's not the only thing of course and yes, people are helping promoting this coin in other ways for sure. But it NEEDS to hit Cryptsy at least.

I have personally bought the last 100 votes and was planning on buying more, but I see that no one here in this community is willing to chip in. Very disappointing. If 100 of us all bought a measly 0.02 btc worth of votes (like I have already done), we would add 10,000 votes to cryptsy and be at 6th place already. Last time they added 4 coins so just think about it, we would almost be added at that point.

But like 95% of you aren't taking any action and instead sitting back, complaining, and doing nothing but watching this coin die. That's sad, so please I beg you do a little work and give up a little. Bribe Cryptsy and all other exchanges, tell your friends about Coino, stop posting anything negative, and stop selling off your coin for cheap. Please!

Thanks...

------

It is funny to see the reaction of some people here. 3 days no news and some of you going crazy. What do you want to hear? We stick to our plan on the roadmap.
I think it's impossible to satisfy some of you. You will just complain and complain again. Maybe Coino is not the right coin for you. No need to get aggressive again just think about it. We will not change our plan. We will update you guys WHEN we have something to update! We could just talk bullshit day by day and promise you things we can't keep. Do you want that?

You will just have to watch and see what will happen with coino. If you don't want that - please leave - really....please leave!

Btw. thanks for dumping the price and stop mining. This will make the real Coino supporter happy because they can buy cheap and mine with a low diff!

You know me and you know I'm one of the bigger supporters and even I have to admit leaving us in the dark is not good at all. We need constant interaction with the developers, constant updates and progress reports of what's been done that week. Going dark for a week and expecting friendly holders just isn't the case.

If you want to go dark for a week like that throw 10 BTC at Cryptsy and ensure it's added. Right now we're falling with no net...

I'm sorry to say but COINO has you beat. It has 35 second block time, 2 confirmations, and 50 second transactions. That being said, I have no doubt this coin will grow and hit the big exchanges. I'll be mining for 24 hours at launch.

I'm holding over 200k coinos and I find it hilarious that people are losing and dumping coino. The price is insanely cheap right now but most people aren't aware of whats next so please keep dumping so us few can purchase cheap coinos.

Dam I thought I was happy with 10k Coinos. I bought at 0.000038 though. Wish I waited until now. With Kimoto Gravity being added we'll see it rise back up never to return to this cheapness again. I hate multi pools now...

[Bounty] Coino Signature Needed
by
JustHayden
on 17/02/2014, 18:39:57 UTC
I'm in need of 1-3 signatures that will promote the Crypto Currency Coino. It must contain the logo, and the word fast, and whatever else you want to add to it. There's no real guideline to what I'm looking for besides those two things so be open and creative, do whatever you think looks best to catch the eye and spread the message.

The payment will be 150 Coino which can be exchanged on Coinmarket.io

The website is here: http://www.coino.org/
The BitcoinTalk thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=419873.0

The signature must look professional.

*Coinos Cards:

Selling Coino Cards with X Value each Card at offline shops.
The Cashier at the offline shop scans the code of the card and get the real time
price via API from an exchange. Client says yes to 200 Coino for example, then the Card will be loaded with
200 Coino. Client can login in the online wallet and redeem it.

*Exchange Dollar - Coino

We already talked to a payment provider who will exchange the actual coino price directly to US-Dollar.

*Coino Debit Card

We will talk to Visa/Mastercard, to get our own Debit Cards for the online wallet.
The Prepaid Credit Card will be connected with your online wallet. When you withdrawal money from the Debit Card it will check your wallet for your balance and through API to exchange, it will payout money for the actual price of Coino at any ATM.

Nice update to the roadmap. Sad to see some things pushed later on but better get it right rather than rush it out.

My MMC Wallet has been sitting at 2 days with no block source available for almost an hour now and I have MMC being sent to me that I'd like to receive. I made a .conf file in the MMC folder with a bunch of addnodes=, restarted the client and still nothing. I even manually added nodes in the debug window but still nothing.

Anyone want to give me detailed instructions on how to get my wallet synced? I was able to sync my NMC (NmaeCoin) wallet in a few hours started at 200+ weeks so it's not a firewall issue.

[QUESTIONS] Want To Create A Mining Pool [QUESTIONS]
by
JustHayden
on 21/11/2013, 16:23:34 UTC
So I've decided I want to create a mining pool website, hoping to make a decent amount of $ with it. I know nothing about creating a pool or how to start one, which is why I'm not the one doing the technical stuff, but I'd like a detailed list of things We'd have to do in order to create a successful public pool.

I'm the business and marketing end of the idea, I have a friend that has a job making websites, and we're looking for someone to get the programming end of this. So right now I'm just looking for a "grocery list" of things we'd have to do, things we'd need, and and so on...

I'm not looking for anyone to tell me "If you don't know you shouldn't do it", because I'm not creating the pool myself (I know nothing about programming).

Thanks for the help!
