Re: [Havelock] RentalStarter - A Midwest Real Estate Investment Company

I think it is a combination of factors.

1. RentalStarter is based in USD (Real bricks and mortar and rents from tenants). The recent drop in $ per BTC has made it look cheap (Asset value after liabilities is about $700k).

2. Has been trading for over 2 years now

3. Steady returns in $ terms.  Last year returned about $0.12/share. Expected to increase significantly over the next year. Don't forget the capital assets.

4. Regular and good communications from Brandon who runs the business.

If you want more details then contact Brandon, by email or on #rentalstarter on freenode and request an invite to the online web channel.

Andy

Full disclosure: I hold a substantial number of shares in RENT and have been increasing my holding over the last few months.

Hmm well I agree that all of those factors would explain upward pressure on the price, but the price jumped around 65% in two days (Jan 7-9) after seeing no significant movement for several months. The only announcement I saw around then was on the 10th, which was for underwhelming dividends. I may just be naive, but isn't that a little out of the ordinary?

So... what's with the price spike earlier this month, and steady rise? I haven't been following RENT for a while.

Branny, would you mind elaborating on the failed acquisition of CREI? Given that the current round of funding was largely justified for this purpose, personally I was surprised and a bit confused by the update this morning. It was not entirely clear to me if you've decided to give up on the acquisition entirely or if it just hasn't happened yet. Could you clarify this? Thanks!

Re: btc-arbs.com - Daily ROI (0.01-10%) Update: Registration issues + deposits

I noticed that I received interest on a deposit that completed only shortly before the daily interest was posted. That got me thinking that if someone was really paranoid you could time your deposits to clear just before the daily return rate is calculated, and then withdraw again right after. Then repeat. This would minimize the amount of time your btc is on the site. Issues are of course that the deposit/withdrawal times can vary (I've had one clear in minutes and another take ~8hrs) and the time at which the daily rate is calculated seems to change as well (I've only been watching for a few days). Not sure if this strategy would work out given the time frame and the unknown variables but I thought it might be worth mentioning. Good luck!

It doesn't always work out that way; generally when I make a deposit, I don't get credit for having it in my account when that day's results are posted. Out of five or six deposits I've only had it happen once.

Their posting times vary a lot, I imagine it has to do with how busy they were with trading that day. Generally it happens in the late afternoon PST, but occasionally it'll be around noon. Switzerland time that's either midnight, or early evening.

Ok yeah sounds like I may have just gotten lucky then...
