No need to send coins to VPS. This is good. I think that it is not safe to store wallet.dat on vps, even with password.
now there is very little that is safe. Scrubs constantly create new hacking schemes. we need to be constantly attentive when doing certain actions on certain services. and especially if it concerns money.
It is very important to ignore unknown links on forums, telegram or e-mail.

The extra points about renewed projects:
1) Quark algo - suitable only for ASICS mining - good point to get rid of small dumpers
2) Huge centralization of the coins but first biggest accounts belongs to exchange => cold wallets are almost not used except to start MN and rather passive coin owners.
