Can Blockchain technology really revolutionize the music industry?
by
KUMAR6
on 07/08/2018, 14:23:56 UTC

With the emergence of startups like Potentiam, Choon, Imusify and even industry giants like eMusic using a blockchain to solve copyrights issues & royalty mismanagement. Can this really disrupt the industry as we know it? all views are welcomed Smiley

1. a big corporation behind
2. an existing customer database
3. an experienced team
4. Top industry advisors

eMusic is the best example! have a look at this team and advisors + almost 50 million users before the ICO even started.

Re: So many new ICO, how to check if it's scam?
by

on 24/07/2018, 12:46:08 UTC
My advice to you is to go for projects managed by familiar and already existing companies, so you'll reduce any chance of investing in a fake ICO.

eMusic, for example, is maybe the most known company to make the move towards an ICO in 2018.

They're in business for more than 20 years, with almost 50 million customers and close to a Billion tracks sold!

Furthermore, eMusic is a subsidiary of Triplay so you can be sure it's not a scam + a very strong team, with a lot of experience in leading major moves and all that implies.

They are developing a community of independent musicians publishing their art on the blockchain,

which in this case, eliminates the need for the major music record labels.

eMusic is maybe the most famous company to make a move towards an ICO this year.

They are developing a community of independent musicians publishing their art on the blockchain,

which in this case, eliminates the need for the major music record labels.

By creating a relationship between musicians and their fan, eMusic is transforming the way content creators distribute their work and how they get rewarded.

Looks super promising, a very strong team with a lot of experience in leading major moves.

Re: what can you tell me about the dangers of investing in an American ICO?
by
KUMAR6
on 23/07/2018, 08:33:18 UTC
Your caution is justified, though eMusic is a very unique American project that has many resources

and made a huge progress in negotiations with the SEC to get a rare approval to raise money.

Looks like a very serious one, check their site

WEMARK is gonna shine!!
by
KUMAR6
on 22/04/2018, 14:31:22 UTC
Wemark is gonna shine for sure! The stock photography industry is one of the most centralized and there are no alternatives to Getty Images and Shutterstock.

Wemark wish to get rid of all intermediaries by developing a decentralized market, while using blockchain technology.

From what I understand, Wemark’s platform will connect potential buyers and photographers and allow them to negotiate directly, with no agencies involved.

Photographers have no other choice than sharing high percentage of revenue with middlemen.

The powerful agencies control distribution and hurt the ability of the artists to make a proper living.

Photographers are being left behind, possessing only 15% of their work’s value and have no exclusivity on the creative side. By embracing blockchain technology and use platforms like Wemark’s, photographers would be able managing their own

content by themselves, getting their fair share.

The problem is serious, Wemark’s solution is excellent, they have a strong and experienced team and kick-ass website- my favorit

Wemark is ensuring prosperity to photographers
by

on 22/04/2018, 10:26:40 UTC
The current royalties distribution system is outdated, with digital creators giving up their rights and receiving almost nothing for their creative work.

Wemark’s vision is to create a new direct relationship between those and their customers, ensuring prosperity to photographers and all involved.

Wemark creating a blockchain based distribution and exchange system for stock-photos, by removing the agencies. Classic use of blockchain!

On Wemark’s platform, instead of paying a high percentage of royalty, photographers will receive the most of what the customer will pay to use their work.

Check it out guys!!

Is Wemark working well? can blockchain contain it at all?
by
KUMAR6
on 22/04/2018, 10:00:28 UTC
Hello fellowship! Did anyone try Wemark yet?
Wemark claims they are here to replace the core responsibilities of the middlemen in stock-photo industry by performing direct transactions between photographers and their fans.

Wemark allegedly provides access to the digital content and distributes the revenue based on pre-set rules.

Is it working well? can blockchain contain it?

is blockchain technology already ripe for these kind of projects?
by
KUMAR6
on 22/04/2018, 09:58:23 UTC
Since the major companies control the distribution, independent photographers are subject to their distributors system and payments.

The fees are the highest of all digital markets, up to 85% of sales, leaves photographers with more or less nothing.

Different companies like Wemark are trying to develop a new payment system and keep control of distribution,

is blockchain technology already ripe for these kind of projects?

A new creator focused platform.. what do you think?
by
KUMAR6
on 22/04/2018, 09:56:40 UTC
Wemark wanna create a creator focused platform, enables photographers to license their digital content straight to buyers.
Wemark’s distributed marketplace is expected to keep control in the hands of the authors, and protects their copyrights.

Very promising project, an amazing website also.. are they the only ICO dealing with this specific field?

I read about the new platform they are trying to develop. From what I understand, potential buyers and photographers will be able to negotiate directly, with no agencies involved. As far as I know, the stock photography industry is one of the most centralized, there are no alternatives to Getty Images and Shutterstock. Wemark wishes to get rid of all intermediaries by developing a decentralized market, while using blockchain technology. Indeed sounds like a refreshing project, though still in its infancy and I need your advice..How serious you think this project is?

a historic change in stock photography industry?
by
KUMAR6
on 16/04/2018, 12:36:49 UTC
In my humble opinion, Wemark represents the future.
Technology is enabling new ways of distributing digital assets and Wemark aims to help photo artists generate income from their work and ultimately distribute it, by the great power of blockchain.
Their website is already on air and b-e-a-u-tiful!!
they have started making connections with hundreds of photo artists towards a historic change in stock photography industry.
