90% of the MtGox creditors demanded to be paid back in Bitcoin rather than in yen or dollars so this discussion is moot.

The MtGox creditors are glad even now the trustee did not sell all the remaining 200,000 bitcoin at $10,000 so this idea that they will sell their share for $1000 or even $5000 is absurd.

I am a Gox creditor and I personally would not take $10,000 for the coins I get out of the settlement.

i think the headlines refer to bitcoin for all of 2018. if you ONLY look at 2018, sure... bitcoin has lost 70+% of its value.

but... zoom out and from 2011-2017, and you'll see its doing great.
